  1. Caden's face turned into a wolfish grin, "I believe we have, my lord. I have arrested two men who not only violated the lockdown, but were heavily armed and attempting to escape the castle. They are now in my custody, awaiting your command."
  2. The guard who was knocked prone, Ned, rolled away from the attacker and grabbed for his spear. As Ned grabbed for his spear, his companion quickly settled back into a defensive posture with his spear angled towards the assailant, determined to keep him at a distance where the spear would be more effective than the sword. ---- Caden nodded to the guards who saluted after he gave the passcode to enter into the chamber where they were keeping the King. He then bowed his head low as he spoke to the King, "my master, I have much to report." @Channelknight Fadran
  3. Caden snarled and dropped the child. He turned and walked briskly to the door before pausing just as he was about to leave. Without looking back at the child, he spoke barely louder than a growl. "You have bought some time for now child, but I may still hand you over to the Ravenness." Caden then yanked open the door and slammed it behind him, turning to the four guardsmen keeping watch. "Two of you, in there with the child to keep an eye on her. Do not allow her to escape! Do I make myself clear?" The four men nodded and saluted, two of them entering the room to watch over the child as Caden moved down the castle halls to report back to his King for a report.
  4. Caden glared at the child, growling when the name Robin was mentioned. "Tell me child, why did they send you?"
  5. "Who are the others? I need names child!"
  6. "Who's they, child!" As the assailant side stepped his spear strike, he swiped to the side to smack the attacker before he could draw the blade.
  7. Caden watched the girl's face closely before shouting at her. "Tell me!" As soon as the spear was knocked away, the guard dropped it and attempted to draw his arming sword to ward off the assailant, but gave out a surprised grunt when the attacker slammed into him. As the guardsman was knocked down by the attacker, the other one shouted as he brought his spear to bear down on the assailant. "Ned! Grab onto him!" As he shouted, he jabbed his spear at the attacker.
  8. Caden growled deeply in his chest. "However, if there were someone who cared about your return, revealing them might save you."
  9. Caden grabbed the child by her neck, lifting her off of the ground. "Then no one will miss you if you die."
  10. The first guardsman jerked his spear to the side, so that the attacker would be thrown off balance for holding onto it. Just as he did so, the other spearman realigned his spear to point straight at the attacker and thrust it forward, aiming for the chest.
  11. The guards yelped, back stepping to keep the points of the spears between them and the assailant. One of the guardsmen did a partial sidestep, just enough that he was still close enough for his comrade to aid him, but far enough so as to split the attacker's focus. They shouted for the alarm to be raised, and for reinforcements as they kept their spear tips pointed directly at Jasper.
  12. The guards looked to each other, then one of the guardsman opened the door to allow two men to march out with their spears forward. They scanned the immediate vicinity to identify Jasper's location, as well as to check for any other threats. "Stand down sir, and you might be let off easy. Final warning."
  13. Kuno raised an eyebrow, "that entirely depends on your skills my friend. There's a place for everyone, so long as we can tell what that place needs to be." Kuno saw the woman out of the corner of his eye before doing a double take. He then raised his hand, turning from the one who called herself Jane. "Ho there! I was wondering if you could offer me some help friend!"
  14. Caden growled, "a child snuck into the King's own ball alone to steal some money? Do you take me for a fool!" Caden stalked up to the child, towering over her. "You are here, working for someone, WHO?!" The guards nodded to each other, readying their weapons. "Sir, if you refuse to adhere to the lockdown you'll be committing treason. I'll only give you one more chance, stand down."
  15. "My dear friend, it's happening now. The enemy is at work, and so am I, and now you are as well. You want to help, then the time to act is now."
  16. The guardsmen ripped open the door, sending out two men, armed with spears. Two of the other men stayed on the inside of the room to watch the doors. "This is a lockdown, stand down and submit yourself to our custody immediately!"
  17. Caden snarled, throwing a nearby chair aside violently. "Don't make this difficult child! The Ravenness may not intend to harm you, but I don't have such weaknesses!" "Where's your escort 'D'Artan?'"
  18. Four guardsmen moved quickly to the door that the knocking had come from, one cracking open the door just enough to look out, while the other three positioned themselves so that they could respond quickly if the situation got violent. The guard peaking through the door shouted, "who goes there?!" @Fallapede
  19. Edgeworth stood up, "thank you, your honor. I will first address these allegations about the defendant's treatment while he was held in custody. As the defense attorney mentioned earlier, context is essential to understand before passing a verdict. In order to gain a better understanding of the context of the defendant's time in custody, I would like to call his captor to the stand as a witness." Edgeworth looked to the judge for approval. @Negative_Null
  20. Caden approached he room that he had left the girl in, clenching and unclenching his fists as the experience with the assassin came in and out of his mind over and over again. He nodded at the guards as he reached for the door handle, taking a brief moment to inhale deeply before opening the door and storming into the room to where the girl was. Caden growled at the girl, towering over her even with his bad posture. "Listen well child, you are here because you piqued the interest of the Ravenness, and so now you are of interest to me. Tell me, how did a child like you gain entrance to the King's Ball?"
  21. Kuno held his arms in an open gesture, "I'm all ears my friend. One can't ever truly place a value on information."
  22. Dr Mayfield reviewed his equipment with a sense of familiarity, he absently watched his hands go through the motions as he could feel numerous theories and hypothensisies surrounding this madness. Of course he hadn't been told everything, these people didn't work that way apparently, even though he would be far more valuable if he had a larger picture available, as that's the way of science. Mayfield spared a glance towards his handler today, who had introduced himself as Agent Lyllac. The agent seemed to remain aloof, fidgeting with a small cube as if she were bored. Mayfield had ben told that if he found what he was looking for, he was to tell the agent, who would then inform the director. He had no clue who he couldn't tell the director himself, but that was the way these people did their research. Mayfield sighed as he reviewed his instruments once more, stopping suddenly when he glanced over the results, taking the time to reread the results to make sure. Mayfield quickly turned to his other instruments, double checking the results before writing them down in a hurried manner. Agent Lyllac perked up upon seeing this increase in action, and she placed down her cube to watch Mayfield work, while Mayfield only offered a quick glance in return. "Well doctor, you mind sharing?" Mayfield stuck up his finger to shush the agent as he worked, running through the information in his head as he quickly wrote down the results. Data flowed from his monitors and other miscellaneous instruments, and he had to be sure that he was open enough to channel such a powerful surge of information. After a brief moment, Mayfield sat back to review at his calculations, nodding to himself. Even with the surge of information, nothing would be that out of the ordinary, or at least for this place. As Mayfield was about to return to his work, the calculating instrument caught his attention from the corner of his eye, and he debated whether or not to use it. He tapped his fingers against his notepad before finally deciding to switch the machine on. As the final instrument booted up and began to process the information, Mayfield double checked his works, correcting slight errors where ever he saw them until he heard the machine chime to say that it was finished. As Mayfield looked up from his pad and began to review the results, he dropped his pencil, forcing himself to reread them. He spoke under his breath, "it can't be, I did the calculations myself . . ." Agent Lyllac looked very fascinated by this and leaned in closer. "Mind elaborating doctor?" Mayfield tore away the page filled with all of his useless work and began again, pausing only to shout at the nosy agent. "Inform the director, I've got something big!"
  23. Kuno chuckled, "you are a fascinating person, aren't you?" He then stopped and tapped his chin, as if considering something. "I'd love to accept your help, but I need to know one of two things first. The first of which would be your name, and if you still don't want to give me that, then why not?"
  24. The guardsman grunted in pain, dropping to the ground to pick up his sword. when he saw that Jasper was running off, he shouted again to raise the alarm.
