Grace rushes over to Kreshnik, and starts speaking hurriedly to the cashier. "Sorry! He's, ah, new here. Also the world is ending so I would go find your family and get somewhere safe. Have a nice day!" She drags the vampire away and says "For an ancient vampire, that was rather stupid. Also give me that." She swipes the money out of Kreshnik's hand, stuff it in her pocket, pulls out a £20 banknote and puts it in his hand.

I was silent for a moment. My first thoughts for getting out of here had been sneaking out, but that was ridiculous now that I thought about it. There was no way we were sneaking past Kelsier of all people. "To be honest, yeah. An I was thinking, uh, we could go get everyone and ask Kelsier if we could go visit somewhere else! Maybe like Sel or maybe Nalthis. I mean, we can't mess with the plots there, they're already happened right?"

I spot Faith waving to me. Perfect! I look around for any sign of one of our chaperones- no trace of a Ghostblood anywhere. I quickly walk over. "Hello Faith! Hey, uh, this is rather sudden but uh are you getting a little... tired of New Luthadel?" I lower my voice towards the end of the sentence.

My eyes shot open suddenly, and it took my groggy brain a couple moments to realize where I was; laying on a table, where I had fallen asleep with a book smashed underneath my arms. I looked up at the library's window and groaned- broad daylight. It had been a month and a half since me and my earthly companions been left in New Luthadel. And while the first few weeks were incredibly fun, the magic of the city quickly wore off once I realized how small it was in reality. Oh, and the complete lack of internet didn't help. I stood up, fed up. I walked out the door and began to look for someone to scheme with.

A train, a bus, and a short walk later the medley crew arrive at the furniture store, it's dark blue walls and large yellow letters beckoning to them.
