  1. "A martyr, then? Would it not be more impressive for you to die in the air, fighting the enemy, then a quiet execution behind the palace? I can guarantee that it won't be public, if you're wondering."
  2. Grace yawns and grabs the remote, turning the TV on and switching to the news. And the bad news started rolling in...
  3. "Oh, no no no. I do not care for your motivations. What I mean is why did you make that speech in front of a large crowd? You would obviously get the Windrunners on your tail, and then you overly easily let them take you instead of trying to escape or fight. Tell me, why did you make this rash decision?"
  4. "Alright, second floor, rooms 4, 5, and 6."
  5. Each step you take on the carpet of moss causes it to flare with a blue light rippling out for about a foot or so before fading again. The computer is logged in and the screen is a mess- there are forms half-way signed, documents full of dense information on science and magic and is far too complicated for you to understand. You can see the browser they're using has one of those web path things at the top that shows how they got to this page- and at the very beginning is a "main directory". Almost immediately once you touch the form, you can tell there's no actual body inside there- there's too much give too it. Neither is there a skeleton, once you press a little harder- to see if there's anything in there, however, you're going to have to open it up.
  6. "Three rooms then. That'll be [x amount of currency]. I hope you enjoy your stay."
  7. Hope you're doing well, and coming back soon!

  8. He frowns at this- if she was a radiant, why didn't she tell that to the guard out front? Odd... "Greetings, Nak. I am Kyt, an Edgdancer of the Fourth Ideal. Tell me, what caused you to make that speech on the wall?
  9. As you leave the armory, it simply leads to another corridor- luckily, this one is far shorter than the last and leads to a matrix of rooms with hallways crawling between them. One of these rooms has it's metal door swinging open, and you can see it's a sterile surgery room, with an uncomfortable looking surgery table, a number of gadgets you don't recognize, and a computer in the corner. There's an issue, however. What appears to be moss covers parts of the floor, walls, and ceilings. It doesn't look odd, but what appears to be the profile of a body lays on the ground, face-down.
  10. Grace listens, mildly interested- she wasn't the biggest fantasy fan, but she wouldn't pass up a good book.
  11. "Hmm... Well, you're in luck, as that's the same reason I'm here. What a coincidence... Anyway, you might be of help, so I'll escort you in. Follow me!" He enters the palace and begins to head for the holding cells.
  12. You dash through the blockade, chaos unraveling around you... but as you run through, you see a horrid site. About ten bodies were crumpled on the floor, each smoking from what appears to be electronic implants. There was no smell besides the smoke itself, and these bodies were obviously brand new. Other than that, this appeared to be an armory of odd weapons, including swords, futuristic looking guns, and some... more lively things.
  13. The odd group travels back across the couple blocks back to Grace's apartment. As they enter back into the apartment, Grace flops onto the couch. "Hehe. Two girls, a genie, a phoenix, and a fairy walk into an apartment. Sounds like some dad joke."
  14. @Random Bystander "Hello," says the skinny man behinds the counter of the inn. "How may I be of assistance, young 'uns?"
  15. "Cool! We can celebrate the world going mad together. Come on, Daisy, Candence."
  16. "Hmm. We'll have to find the rifts first... perhaps send out some of my soldiers to look for them? Depends on how big this world is, though..."
  17. "Uh, ah, sorry ma'am. I'm looking for Selene on behalf of Jahora, her ex-lover. Or husband, I'm not sure. He was the one who just ran off."
  18. @Ella1234 He nods to the guard before turning to the girl for a moment. "What are you here for?" he says in Alethi, a thick Iriali accent coating his words.
  19. @Ella1234 @Frustration Kyt speeds through the streets. Behind him, Varla, his spren, followed after. "Are you sure this is safe, Kyt?" "Oh, Varla. The Windrunners have likely already dealt with the issue. I'm just making sure no one was injured." "I know that, but a stormform just coming to the wall, right out in the open? It's odd." "I know. But, as I just said, the Windrunners have certainly dealt with it, otherwise, there would be far more buzz of an attack." When they arrive, the scene is rather normal. He approaches a nearby guard who details what happened. "So no one got hurt?" "Nope. Just the attacker 'imself." "Hmm. And he just gave up and got taken back to the palace?" "From what I saw." "Thank you." And with that, he starts to speed off to the palace. This was obviously some ploy to get inside the place. And the Windrunners, as much as he respected them, had got fooled. Once he reaches the palace, he skids to a halt. The guard is speaking with a girl outside the front door. "Excuse me. Edgedancer, important business." He says to the guard.
  20. As two of the dropped crossbows rise, the two unengaged soldiers eyes widen and they begin to scramble backwards before the bolts penetrate into them. Nearly immediately they begin to scream as their bodies begin to melt into shadow, their horrible screeching slowly quieting before they fully disappear into the darkness, which then fades into the dark hallway.
  21. You manage to get a chokehold on one of the soldiers, and his face slowly goes purple as you choke him out. His back arcs backwards and he shakes violently as the smell of burning flesh fills the air as he drops to the ground with a thump. The soldier you tackle starts slashing wildly at you, a fearful expression on his face as he expects to die from some sort of strange power he couldn't predict.
  22. Meanwhile... Kyt is in a nearby hospital, a bag of spheres on his back, going from bed to bed and healing patients. There was one with rot, who would of likely died without Progression, and then a child who had badly broken both of his legs, and might of been permanently crippled. Ah, he loved this. It was peaceful, and it was the most satisfying thing in the world to see those who were said to be doomed to return to normality in seconds, and seeing hope return to their eyes. He could just do this forever... "Sir! There's been an attack!" Says a runner, coming into the hospital, panting. "What? Where?" He says in a thick Iriali accent. "The wall. I think it was an stormform extremist." "Anyone hurt?" "I don't know." Kyt turns to a nearby nurse. "No one here's urgent, right?" She shakes her head. "Good. If I'm not back within an hour, please, get another Edgedancer with my recommendation." And with that, he slicks his feet and begins to slide faster and faster, exiting the hospital and zooming down the street, weaving and dodging through the crowds and towards the site of the short battle.
