My brother was the one who introduced me to Brandon Sanderson books. I don't know how he was introduced though... Anyway, he had read The Way of Kings and loved it, so he recommended it to me. I started it, and I hate to admit it, but I was bored at the beginning, so I stopped reading it. A couple months or more later, my brother convinced me to give it another chance, and when I did, I loved it. I started reading everything by Sanderson that I could get my hands on, talking to anyone and everyone about it, whether or not they had read it. So yep. Thats it.

I'm so happy that you thought that was funny!!! I'm not super confident of my sense of humor.

Thanks! I have done some previous research on it, and kind of understand the basics...

Looking to use Stormlight Archives in classroom
DramaQueen replied to Texastrojan1685's topic in General Brandon Discussion
Hey, I'm a junior too!! I have one junior friend who reads Sanderson and two (maybe three?) senior friends who do, though. So I guess I'm pretty lucky -
Queen gathered the bloodied bandages and the wood she used for the splint, put them back into her toolbelt, then stood up, giving a determined nod. Although she had no idea where they were going, she finally felt like she belonged somewhere again. I hope these guys really are trustworthy. Tchanta mumbled in her head. I'd hate it if we were betrayed again. Tchanta's doubts weren't echoed in Q's thoughts. Although she would never trust anyone as much as she had trusted Journey, she could tell that these people would help her.

Cosmere Board Games, Anyone?
DramaQueen replied to Channelknight Fadran's topic in Sanderson Fan Works
Yeah, I "got it" from my brother for my birthday, but it didn't ship on time, and he lives away from home, so I haven't received it yet. I am dying with anticipation. -
I sophisticatedly succeed.

Cosmere Board Games, Anyone?

Is the one and only GOAT

Queen felt herself growing envious at Fadran's healing powers. One of her only useful skills could be done so much more quickly and easily by his powers. Yes, he had stated that it would hurt and that it affected him negatively as well, but it was fast. With his powers, Elaine would be back on her femur without a splint in under an hour. Without, it would take at least a couple of weeks. At least it made it possible for Queen to get her bandages back soon in case they would need them for someone else.

Vapor seemed too busy to help Queen with a splint, so, making sure that the injured leg was steady and wouldn't move, Queen got up and collected two large, flat pieces of wood. When she returned, she carefully lifted Elaine's leg, placing one piece of wood under and one over the femur. She then wrapped the leg with the remainder of her bandages, hoping that no one else would need them until Elaine had healed and they had washed the bandages. The resulting splint wasn't her best work, but the break wasn't too bad, so this would do.

TUBA - The Underground Bakers' Association
DramaQueen replied to Stormblessed Dolphin's topic in The Alleyverse
I wish to join TUBA, and - Swear to never reveal information about our organization which is deemed secret. - Swear to never spike any baked item with any substance that should not be there - Swear allegiance to this Guild, and give all due loyalty to its goals and precepts I'm not an active roleplayer (yet) but if that changes, one of my characters will be a TUBAist!!!! -
Queen focused, blocking out all distractions. She first bandaged the wounds on Elaine's wings that weren't too deep, applying just enough pressure to stop the bleeding, but not too much that it would render her wings useless. She then started a fire to heat her dagger over, but it took a long time to heat up. She needed it quickly in order to cauterize the wounds on Elaine's wings that were deeper. While she waited for the fire to be hot enough, she prepared a paste for the burns using lavender, aloe vera, plantain, calendula, comfrey, and gotu kola. Vapor's salve would help, but Elaine would need something stronger to completely heal her skin. The fire had heated her dagger enough before she had finished, so she carefully placed the hot metal against the deep wounds on Elaine's wings, staunching the bleeding and reuniting the skin of her wings. Once she completed that, she added the final touches to her burn paste before applying it over all over her body, covering the burns. She left only Vapor's salve on the lesser burns, then placed bandages over the burns to hold the paste against Elaine's skin. Elaine had passed out from the pain, her breathing shallow, but her pulse was still strong. Somehow, Q had managed to keep her alive. Now, to figure out if Elaine had a broken or fractured bone. Queen carefully felt the most vital bones, including the skull and spine, then let out a sigh of relief as she discovered them all to be in good shape. Her wings had only been cut, not broken, so she was good there. However, Elaine had somehow managed to break her femur, one of the strongest bones in the body. Vapor was still standing near, so Q turned to her. "I need two strong pieces of wood for a splint. Could you find those for me?"

That is incredible that your nephews are named after characters in the Stormlight Archive!!! -
Throughout all of this fighting, Queen had been staring in shock. Only now did she take action. Knowing that, in this kind of fight, she would be of no use without magic, she began collecting herbs that she thought would be able to help with any injuries people might have. She began preparing pastes and other medications, preparing bandages that she pulled out of the tool belt around her hat.
