  1. "Good. Then let's go." Gal turned back around and walked to the library. _______________________________________ Meanwhile, those who arrived at the library saw Sef sitting on a chair there, with a weird, elaborate diagram on the floor around him. His eyes had a yellowish glow to them, and the face of an owl seemed to be overlapping his, half transparent. "You may step into the diagram." He said. "My young cousin and I will help you pass through the portal soon. @Knight of Iron
  2. Gal looked around. It seemed everyone was following, including Cara, who pulled her horse behind her, and even Ni, who recently died. Except... He came back to the kitchen to find the Shadow - Talnic - still standing there, petrified. "So, are you coming?" He asked. "As I said, we don't have much time." @Tesh @Channelknight Fadran
  3. Jack just stood around awkwardly. "I'd like to try those... Cinnamon rolls, too."
  4. This is perfectly hopeless. I know there are people around here who did read her books, but I never get to find them. And there's no particular reason I shouldn't be on the Shard right now. TPBM is wondering why in most (non Sanderson) fantasy books magic and technology don't get along.
  5. While Kelsier talked, Hoblim nodded to himself. Ah. So Kelsier hopes we'll help him get out of his system. And a Cognitive Shadow is bounded by the Investiture that made him one, maybe. But, wait... "You used Harmony's Investiture to preserve Lilliana? But, as far as I remember, she died very suddenly, and was away from us for quite a while. By her description, she didn't even feel the pull of the Beyond, and she was merely a misting back then, wasn't she? She should've been pulled pretty quickly. You were a misborn, and you felt the pull almost instantly."
  6. Hoblim shook his head and turned to the Survivor. "Isn't it your home planet? I'd have thought that you like being here. I see your point, though. It's a bit like Archer's Goon, I guess..." He looked down at his notebook, then looked up, frowning. "If a person becomes a Cognitive Shadow outside his home planet, to which planet he's locked? If it's the planet he's in at the moment, then why? Isn't it something about Connection?"
  7. Well, yes. But... It's because I'm in the IDF. This reason, by the way, stands for both my IDF room and my room back home. TPBM has read Witch Week/any other book by Diana Wynne Jones.
  8. Jack shook his head, still unable to grasp the world. "You only go flying around once," he mumbled, "and somehow hundreds of years pass. Who knew?" He kept following everyone, and his feathery cloak drew quite a few stares.
  9. @Tesh, @Channelknight Fadran, @Isabelle6060, @S4S, @Knight of Iron, @Condensation, @JesterLavorre, @Tani.
  10. Hoblim looked up from his notebook and sighed. He trained his memorizing skills, he made a complete Earth-Scadrial calendar comparison - though it was infinitely hard, since stupid Scadrial didn't even have a moon - and he was all too ready to go away. Theoretically speaking. He saw Faith and Dayen standing, both looking somewhat troubled or frustrated. He returned his gaze there and just sat, listening.
  11. "... Except for the fact I have no idea what Ikea is, I'm fine with it. Sounds like a good idea." Jack looks hesitant. "Not really that much. I'm not my cousin the giant-slaying Jack, nor did I kill seven at one blow, like the brave tailor. But I'll see what I can do." "Thanks, I guess."
  12. Jack looked relieved. "Thanks. I think I'll stay here with you for a while. What are you doing right now?" He turns to look around the room, noting the books, the fairy that hides behind the sofa and the phoenix.
  13. "Not so cute now, I see." Mattered Jack under his breath. He nodded in acknowledgement to Cadence's introduction, then turned back to the man with the sword. "Well, I just kind of stole this cloak from a giant. It was very impulsive and kind of weird - there was a small blip while he was chasing me, and next thing I know there are this weird buildings everywhere, and I can't find the Beanstalk, so I can't find home - or the giant, for all it matters. But I'm pretty sure he's still after me. I think he stole the cloak himself from a god or a goddess, but I don't know the pantheon of the Norse well enough to be sure."
  14. "Jack."
  15. The falcon hopped into the house gratefully. He lifted his right leg to his head and made a queer motion that resembled removing a coats hat from one's head. He changed shape instantly, becoming a human child dressed in a simple shirt and trousers, above which he wore a feathery cloak, complete with a cape. "So, um, hello." He said. "May I stay here for a while? Thank you on advance."
  16. "Um, a Jotun. It's kind of a long story."
  17. He moved from leg to leg nervously. "Well... To be honest, I'm probably chased by a giant. Thought I could hide here for a while until he's gone."
  18. "Wow. You can understand me? Great! So, umm..." He stopped for a moment. "Well, if you have to know, I have a magical cape that turns me into a bird - I'm actually human. I'll show you - if you'll let me in, 'cause I don't fancy hanging from this windowsill." He turned his gaze to the man who understood him. "And as for whether or not you can trust me... How could I prove anything to you? No matter what I say, trusting me is your choice. You can let me in but stay on your guard or something, just please let me in."
  19. The bird shakes its head and screeched, but to Cassander it sounds like: "Well, I don't know. No glankish way for that to happen when I can't talk."
  20. The falcon found it couldn't really roll its eyes, but it still tried, and then nodded.
  21. The falcon stared at her, then did the same motions, only with a small leg-gesture toward the room in the end.
  22. The falcon stared at her. It lifted its leg and pointed a claw at itself, shook its head slowly, then did a quick biting motion. It then looked around, waiting.
