  1. I've basically stolen Dr. Gears from the SCP Foundation. He studied anomalies and special containment procedures before coming to the cosmere. Since being transported to the cosmere, he's been studying Investiture, Realmatic Theory, Alleyverse mechanics, etc. Assume him to be about as knowledgeable about the cosmere as an individual with access to the Coppermind Wiki, though minus all the historical and cultural knowledge.
  2. Given that Dragonsteel will release after the rest of the cosmere is established, I'd estimate it will come out between 10-20 years in the future. This disappoints me, but it will probably make Hoid's story that much more interesting.
  3. Just imagine what was going through Hoid's head when Shallan hugged him. Assuming Hoid is as universally unloved as he appears to be, I'd estimate anywhere from centuries to millennia without a hug. He's tensing up for a punch and suddenly, he's being wrapped in a warm embrace. For the first time in a long time, he is completely, utterly speechless.
  4. Anguish: severe mental or physical pain or suffering; be extremely distressed about something. The distress aspect might be tied up with Odium (Passion), but the suffering is available. Pure agony does not seem like it would have much of an intent, however, and thus I am left confused as to how a magic system powered by Anguish would work. This is a perfectly sound theory.
  5. Greetings. I am interested in this. Having skimmed the rules and past games, I believe I have an adequate understanding of the game. As there is not currently an open game, I am simply proclaiming my existence to the world at large. Please inform me when a new game begins.
  6. Well, he didn't fight against Shallan's hug, so he'd probably let a spren hug him, if you have physical form. Hopefully he'll let an assortment of gears and wires embrace him. Can an assortment of gears and wires give hugs? Oh no, I might not be capable of hugging Hoid! You have to hug him extra hard for me!
  7. Hoid has been alone/hated for millennia, the only people that could possibly understand him despise/reject him, he does not have control over what he can do (hurting people), and he has watched countless loved ones wither and die. He is definitely not okay. He hides his pain behind a thousand masks, which makes me all the more excited for his truths.
  8. Hemalurgy for the flexibility (the crippling insanity is a fortunate side effect), Radiants for the spren (I want a Cryptic), Aviar for the islands (Patji is a wonderful place), Breath for the accessibility (if you've got the cash), and whatever Hoid does with dust.
  9. Fascinating. I haven't seen that many theories about the Sibling, but I think this seems plausible. I agree that a Dysian Aimian bonding a composite spren would be incredibly fitting. Do you think the facets of the Sibling would manifest like DID (individual personalities and memories) or more like Shallan's personas (individual personalities, shared memories)?
  10. You could think about it as 13866106 seconds if you prefer.
  11. Deutsch assumes a malleable multiverse. As far as I have been able to discern, if there is a multiverse, it is unalterable, though I'm partial to the single timeline theory myself. Any and all attempts at changing time have been resolved by memory alteration, strange and bizarre coincidences, and unfortunate machine failures.
  12. As the Metallic Arts do not provide evidence of the Realms (except for maybe Hemalurgy, but not really), the Scadrians probably won't learn Realmatic Theory until Kelsier, Harmony, or a worldhopper tells them about it. I expect Scadrial to invent FTL spaceships and colonize their patch of the universe before they learn Realmatic Theory. Then a worldhopper comes along to check out the space empire, and they discover that people from other planets can walk through space by going to a weird place called "The Cognitive Realm" which completely upheaves their scientific theory of everything.
  13. I would love to make a time machine with you. I have the vessel, but the CPU is on the fritz and there is a significant probability of being scattered into component atoms
  14. I doubt my capability to wait that long, especially since Brandon has stated that Wit's epilogue will be amazing. But alas, my time machine is malfunctioning, so I find myself unable to travel to the time 2020-11-17 any faster than one second per second. Hopefully, I will find some other spectacular fantasy/sci-fi series to tide me over until the drop.
