  1. Hyron cursed and fell to her knees. She sat there, breathing heavily. "Don't..." She said, "Don't ever do that again."
  2. "Viney," Hyron said, gesturing to herself, then gestured to Miyako and Yerik, "Stuck Up, Acolyte. And you?"
  3. Hyron raised an eyebrow at the crystal, but said nothing. She smirked at Miyako's comment, then elbowed her. Miyako's cockiness was... endearing, but sometimes it wasn't needed.
  4. Hyron looked up and wondered what those red strips are. She'd never seen anything like them. And how far deep were they going, anyways?
  5. 1/7/23: A Hungry Soul. The Children Are Gone. Something Took Them.
  6. Hyron held back a laugh. They knew they were bold, but they'd just saved Miyakos life. They were riding a bit of a high right now.
  7. Hyron grinned. "Well, wouldn't want to lose you after just 2 kisses, now, would I? Besides, even if you did die I'd find a way to bring you back. We've got stuff to talk about."
  8. Hyron blinked. "I'm... not entirely sure. I think since you were on the brink of death, and I felt I just had to do something, and somehow I create a super powerful Attunement. But you also weren't breathing, and I was panicking."
  9. "You can't be right now. We've gotta go." Hyron sniffed, following the guard. They took a drink, then whispered to Miyako; "Feeling better?"
  10. Hyron opened their eyes, feeling quite bleary. They rolled over, noting that Miyako was still asleep. They stood, then walked over, kneeling down in front of her bed, watching her sleep. Miyako seemed to be doing much better after yesterday. Hyron's breath had helped a lot with managing the impulses of her Shadow, so that was good. "Psst," Hyron whispered, "Wake up." @Mr. Misting
  11. Hours later, and Theo had found out very, very little. Frighteningly little. He stood, hunched over his desk, breathing heavily. His desk was littered with open books and papers with little notes noting where his brain was. How had they found his sister? Or, conversely, how had his sister found them? Theo looked up. Then left his study, going to Veronica's room. He opened the door. Nothing had changed since Veronica had dissapeared. Veronica dissapeared right after mom did, so nothing had really happened inside the mansion. The floor was still pretty dirty, but that wasn't what concerned Theo. He strode through the room, lifting up the mattress with the still-disheveled sheets. Underneath was letters. Theo knew this was where she kept important documents because he'd put stuff here to surprise her in the past. She'd gotten mad, but had ultimately forgiven him because he hadn't taken anything hugely important. Until now. He flipped the mattress onto the floor and began to sift through the letters.
  12. Ooo good idea. Gives me a chance to flesh out how stuff works on-world. 1/6/23: The Approaching Storm:
  13. Hyron couldn't fall asleep. Too much had happened, and adrenaline was pulsing through their veins. To remedy this, they listened to Miyako's deep breathing, and breathed in tandem. Hyron calmed down, and was quickly asleep. @xinoehp512
  14. "Good night." Hyron said, then lay down on the bed, staring up at the ceiling, contemplating everything that had happened. They cursed softly to themselves, then just lay there.
  15. "Because," Hyron said, setting their pack down on their bed and sitting down, "You need to recover, you've just held unimaginable amounts of power and almost died, and you shouldn't do that alone."
  16. Hyron cut off Miyako right before she finished their name. "Shh," They hissed, "Don't say that." "What?" They asked.
  17. Theo held a hand up in front of him, then snapped. Above his fist a small ball of black fire, Deathfire, appeared. His use of the Magic was tied to his House, so it was very death oriented. The light in the room seemed to dim, but apparently only to him. Deathfire consumed anything and everything that was alive or used to be alive. Wood, plants, flesh, cloth, anything that at any point was derived from a living being. By this logic, Deathfire ignored stone and other nonliving materials. Metals could not be burned either. The ball of Deathfire above his fist rippled and churned, a ball of hunger, a ball of desire, encased in one of the most dangerous physical elements. Theo released his fist, and the ball of Deathfire vanished, and the room brightened again. He finished his Hoc, then sat there, contemplating. And a realization occured to him. He had power. He had influence. He could find this... Group that his sister had supposedly joined. He stood, walked to the bar, and dropped a couple of banknotes on it. He walked out and walked back home, thinking the whole way. The Group, whatever it was, clearly had power. They had managed to convince Veronica to leave House Mortus, Veronica of all people. It was hard to get Theo's older sister to do anything, let alone join some shady organization. He strode through the foyer and went into his private study. It was time to do some research.
  18. Hyron nodded to Yerik, then walked into their and Miyako's room, still holding Miyako. They set Miyako down on one of the beds. "Rest." Hyron said firmly. "And keep drinking this," Hyron said, taking the canteen from the vine and handing it directly to Miyako. @Mr. Misting
