  1. I think there's a WoB that someone told Szeth something was coming, and far before the events of the Prologue (not that far, but Szeth wasn't that new to being Truthless). Also I doubt the Blades are much affected by their Heralds... although are only real example is Jezrien who's a special case.
  2. Ishar also spoke directly to Dalinar from a lot of distance (maybe from the Cognitive Realm) in RoW.
  3. What it seems like is Dead-Herald-probably-named-Chana lasted all of 5 years before giving up and returning to Braize (along with Taln). Where she went... I wouldn't be too surprised if Hoid found her. (That's also my guess as to where Taln's Blade is, it seems Hoid likes those kind of things.) But I assume we'll find out soon. I'm somewhat more curious as to what kickstarted these things. It seems like the Everstorm is a concentrated set of Voidish Investiture that the Fused can go to instead of Braize, but it still couldn't move over until a Herald died. My guess is Axindweth's Faction (the Ghostbloods? Maybe?) was trying to get Chana or another Herald to die... but that still doesn't explain how Shallan and Jasnah (and Gavilar) started bonding Radiant Spren before the threat of a Desolation began again.
  4. ... how did Kaladin meet Tien? His brother? ... Oh, do you mean in the RoW vision? That is a good question, but probably via Dalinar Connection Shenanigans. Seems to be a Bondsmith (and thus likely Stormfather/Sibling/Nightwatcher) specialty. As for Ishar... not sure. Depends how much he could do during the Desolations.
  5. Do we know when we're going to get an SA 5 Spoiler section, or is that likely going to wait until the "official" prologue / title release? Yes I want to have a meme thread
  6. Yeah, I definitely think Gavilar's not as terrible a person as he seemed in OB/RoW era. Am I very glad he didn't end up being a Herald or a Shard (as far as we know )? Oh yeah. Is T-Odium much much scarier? Most definitely Also much better than Moash. Gavilar's just someone who dabbled in powers and games he did not understand, and in the end he gave the rest of a Roshar a chance at the expense of his legacy. I do hope we get a bit more of him though. He got Voidlight and Anti-Voidlight from somewhere...
  7. My current take: Gavilar is an idiot. I also think the Stormfather's appearance is really similar to a certain pair of mist spirits... I'm in Team Tanavast. Or at least a fragment of Tanavast.
  8. I think that's part of the plan, in combination with the Investiture Limit idea. At least some form of cold war where the different Departments are trying to negotiate how their respective budgets are cut (because even in the DA, Voidus or the Stranger or Cam could probably obliterate the power structures of some of the smaller Departments). I do wonder if we should at least figure out how we're ending this era before we make a lot of plans for the new one. I'm guessing the actual ending of the Forgery's much more on Voidus + Fatebreaker + ZincAboutIt than the rest of us, but still, we're a little stuck.
  9. Does the Alleyverse or DA have any tools that can alter people's memories? Not like Alley-Forgery scale, but that-person-saw-something-they-shouldn't scale. And if it does exist, would it be Breath-based or a Forgery or something else entirely? Byron and friends seem to have... hit a bit of a wall, so I'm trying to figure out what my PR Department Head would have to work with to affect public perception besides Soothers, Rioters, and Lightweavers (and some Forgers).
  10. Ash was eating popcorn. "Was the survey about the Witherlord? Or..." he stopped himself.
  11. Ash thanked the Quarkbeast, wishing they could have met Schrodinger.
  12. Long Game 84: A Sel United Several centuries after Elantris’ fall and rise and after the several wars of the Fjordel Empire, the different Investitures of Sel have Connected and spread throughout the different countries. In an effort to dispel the tensions between these different cultures suddenly learning much more about each other, a council made of the various countries is being held in a neutral island off the coast of Arelon to draft a final end to Sel's wars for territory. However, some of the world’s darker circles do not wish for peace, and have sent several operatives to ensure the council fails to reach a settlement by any means necessary… Welcome to Long Game 84: A Sel United! This is an LG based around a group of the different countries of Sel attempting to negotiate a long-term treaty, and while the individual details still need to be worked out, all the major rulers agree it's time to work together... although some other powerful individuals are less willing to let this happen. While it has some roles, the main factor is the different Empire Affiliation's private communications. Basics: Empires: Roles: Clarifications: As of now, I'm GMing with @Elbereth as my IM. Edit: @xinoehp512 will be my coGM this game! Signups will end on Friday April 1st at 12:00 PM PDT / 7:00 PM GMT. (Yes, I'm starting the game on April Fool's Day. But it's either that or start it immediately after the MR rollover. ) Game will start fairly soon after that but may take a bit longer. Participants: Quick Links: I hope that's everything.
  13. Ash watched as he wished he hadn't got rid of all his popcorn.
  14. Ash CTRL-C'd the sword that everyone seemed so antsy about.
  15. Ash thought that was an unnecessary escalation of violence and teleported away from the narration blades. Then all the popcorn vanished and turned to dark ink.
  16. I think so. Ash might think differently. *Munches popcorn*
  17. Ash mentally Connected all the several vaguely-Thaidakar-esque people.
  18. “Arguing with swords,” Ash replied, and ate another handful of popcorn.
  19. Ash threw popcorn at the group of fighting narrators.
