Maybe something like there are different levels of information, which is split up by levels of spoiler boxes, and then we have some algorithm or something that decides the likelihood of a spy getting a certain level of information vs. failing to do so vs. getting caught. Then each time they send a spy they just run the algorithm (dice roll?) and bam they know if they succeed or not. Ofc honor system would still be very important for this to work, but I'd hope that wouldn't be a problem.
