    Well, I kind of have to get to my next class or get that thing back, so I walk away, or try to walk around, or pretend like I don't need it. I don't know, it's a self defense mechanism developed from years of living with 6 other people, most of which are constantly trying and succeeding to annoy me.

But we have to wait for Enter, T, and Ember, who are in the flying building." (OK, making an overture towards friendship) "I get that you really miss your . . . you really miss this Abigail. I miss Daolan, but I can't do anything about it until we get to Sel, so I have to wait and hope that these guys can move on quickly. We have a tendency to get caught up in little adventures along the way. But maybe having me there will help them move faster? I have no way to get to Daolan without them, so I don't really have a choice. And for what it's worth, I hope you can save her." Herate said this last part quietly, moving closer to Jared. She looked up from the ground, smiled at him, then walked closer to the others and listened to their conversation.

    Thank you for the confirmation, that's what I thought. Ooh, now how do I acknowledge that he likes me without making it awkward? I think I like him, but I also like some other guys. You guys, I think I have the most romance-filled life of anyone I know. Especially if you include the romance novels.

    No, I haven't noticed it. With everyone else he's perfectly cordial, he's just annoying to me. And then at times he's incredibly sweet and I just forget about him being annoying
