no way is he joining retribution, though a revenge quest might be manipulated by taravangian (as by definition it would be retribution against Retribution, which the powermight embrace...) In terms of love interest, i think the only real candidate is Lift, especially given the setup of a friendship between the two of them before he got sucked into the spiritual realm and now being a similar age. the two of them will definitely be connected, but we'll see if it develops into a relationship...

Given how the shards seem to view the joint shards as a threat, and how joining shards has been a solution to problems, i'm wondering if the missing balance will come from taravangian or sazed taking up a third shard? There is also a WoB that 3 shard comobos might be more stable the 2-shard combos (though brandon said it obviously depends onthe specific shards) Cultivation is the obvious candidate to join in given her connection to stormlight - adding her in would leave Odium a place but leave it outnumbered in terms of context and let retribution become constructive. I think an even more interesting option would be to add cultivation in with ruin and preservation. having a shard with growth power could move Sazed out of his passive mode and let both preservation and ruin shine. Virtuosity could serve a similar role, though we havent really seen her besides knowing she's splintered

I like th eline of thought, but if this is the case, why does Sigzil seem surprised in sunlit man that his plate is different, combining both? Shouldnt this be the usual way he saw his plate after gaining it as a SkyBreaker?
-
So is there going to be an independent Herdaz on a floating island somewhere off the coasts?
-
So we know that in the future sigzil has plate spren from his time as a windrunner that join into nomad's plate - but it looks like his windrunner days are over and he never reached the fourth ideal and thus hasnt gotten plate spren. Is this a continuity error? or will he go back at some point? (given that he is now hanging out with aux I doubt that vienta will get in the picture?)

"Honor is a coward who always hated us" - yet anther confirmation that Honor is actually still alive?

Szeth's highspren might actually be Auxiliary...
Shacharma replied to Ninth of the Night's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I think that Szeth's spren is displaying an attitude common among the highspren in general (e.g. Nale bowing to accept his spren in the memory), so Aux may well have had this emotional journey and change without the need to claim he is a specific highspren which we already know.... -

If Honor is indeed alive - Could the WoB about there being a Shard who is in hiding that everyone interpreted as the final shard be referring to him? -

The Dor is from splintered Shards though - this could also be Wit describing Ruin being locked in the Well of Ascension? Awesome chapters in general. Also very intrigued about Jasnah's Timeline thoughts, the stormfather is clearly not the original wind. Interesting that Night fled and was replaced by the Nightwatcher -Sja Anat? Midnight mother? I think by this point Harmony regrets picking up the Shards. Wonder if Kelsier does? He might be a good exception to Hoid's comment? (or maybe he only cares about the original shardbeareers?) -
Did the StormFather kill Tanavast? is that the Shame he is trying to hide? The reason Odium said "**we** killed you"? This also fits with the current stormfather usurping the Winds place, as clear from the Sibling's remarks about the change in him... If not, what did he do that was so bad?

I think because Adolin wasnt slated to take such a big role then that would preclude him from being the planned champion? There also isn't much foreshadowing for that n the previous books? (personally I think his arc will be focused on Maya on one hand and on Gawx on the other) I dont have a clear guess as to who he meant though... I think there was an old WoB that Tarvangian becoming Odium was another one of those forks where he only made the final decision while writing it?

Battle is coming at 3 fronts! what our we going to lose?!
Shacharma replied to Aon Tia's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I also think Venli and the listeners (and their chasmfiends) are going to turn the tide at the shattered plains, possibly changing it's status to being not human/coalition and not Odium. Remember that several years have passed since the listeners escaped Eshonai's purge - that's enough to bring a bunch of kids into ages where they can join the fight, and with Thude's force, especially if many of them become willshapers, they can make a huge difference. I think the general outcome of the fights will be the opposite of the outcome of the contest of champions - if the fights lead to victory, victory will be snatched away by dalinar failing (as fits the death rattles), while if they fail I think Dalinars chances of success go way up. I also predict we will see a skybreaker raid, which might kill Navani, that will be stopped by legal argument -
There seem to be too many hints about Shallan's reality being substantiated for my comfort - could Adolin have been left behind in the beads, with Shallan unconciously Substantiating a new replacement Adolin? (Drowning? captured by the fused?) Or is this too dark a direction to think in?

Is the head librarian (book-quartermaster) batah/batar ?
Shacharma replied to Shacharma's topic in Cosmere Discussion
yes, but the diagrm members discussed moving her away from there given that Moloch had moved, and they als wanted to keep a close eye on her, so she could have been restationed in Urithiru? -
Who the quotes from the Knights of Wind and Truth belong to?
Shacharma replied to Little_Dagger's topic in Cosmere Discussion
While the Syl idea is intriguing it just doesnt sound like her, unless her personality transformation is going to be much more significant then shown so far. I'm leaning more towards the author being someone from Shinovar - either someone we haven't met yet, or one of Szeth's family members (the reference point being to the west of there, szeth being just szeth while kaladin gets an adjective etc.) -
Who’s talking to Kaladin? / Who is the Wind discussion
Shacharma replied to Lord Spirit's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Note that n the case of Scadrial the Shards created the actual planet so there wouldnt be anything predating them... -
I wonder if there will be a Spren of Truth? (especially given the books title)
-
"The Wind told me, before she vanished, that it was the change in Odium’s vessel that restored her voice. " This suggests that the Wind will be vanishing. Do you think it might die in Shinovar? Could Wit actually be saying goodbye to it rather then to kal?

Wind and Truth: Chapters 3 and 4
Shacharma replied to CtrlAltDepressed's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Specifically, i'm referring to "Perhaps it is the new storm, making people begin to reconsider that the wind is not their enemy." - I dont think humans consider wind the enemy, but given the betrayal of the ancient Spren the listeners might? and this fits better with the new storm being viewed as a positive thing? I think it's going to end being someone like Venli's mother? Thude? or even Rlain? (especialy given that now rlain is a truthwatcher?) -
Wind and Truth: Chapters 3 and 4

Do the chapter openings from inworld KOWaT suggest that the book was written by a listener? -
I think the unmade are going to end up overlapping with a lot of the others on the rest of your list

Thoughts on Re-Released Prologue
Shacharma replied to CtrlAltDepressed's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I think we know that he didnt just toss it, but rather gave it to the nightwatcher or cultivation, and that they in turn are the ones who gave it to Nale (after previously offering it to Dalinar). Wish we knew what he got in return.... Joining the format: Vasher - We were told that he is on Roshar since investitutre is somuch more easily (and ethically) available there. And we also know from WoBs that while he's learned how to use it he still hasnt figured out how to awaken things with it. i think his goal here seems to be similar to that of the ghostbloods - finding a way to get stormlight offplanet so he can charge up on Roshar and then go elsewhere with the stormlight. Transporting light to braize and back is a logical step in this for him. And in general him looking into how the light works fits his character, especially if creating the anti-voidlight was a byproduct of learning the tones to translate stormlight into something closer then breaths (endowment-light). Working with Gavilar for local legitimacy and resources makes sense as well. Regardless, this is a cool and logical piece of the puzzle- but the big question to me is what he's been up to since then. Has he given up on his work? Or is he stil running experimets? Stormfaker - I was never a big believer in this theory but this version makes me lean even stronger towards stormfather. -
So we have three main examples of threnody's tech level: 1. Silence 2. Canticle 3. Night brigade A common assumption i'm seeing is that Silence represents the tech level when the Evil fell, with the Night Brigade somehow zooming forward and developing their tech in space or getting it gradually from their employers, and Canticle somehow getting advanced space access and hoverbike tech from someplace else. But what if tech level there was higher - and a planetary system with Ambition guiding it would be a natural place for tech to race forward. What if tech was on the verge of spaceage withtech of the type before the adaptations to canticle. In this scenario, the evil pushes the planets tech level back to what we see by Silence for the people on the planet, while those who escape to space (/shadesmar) are able to maintain a higher tech base. From there they can adapt it to what we see at canticle, and the night brigade has a much smaller gap to close in order to become an interstellar player? It also explains why the IRE fear Threnodite activity as early at mistborn era 1. Am I missing them that disproved this approach?
