  1. Fadran gets up, walking to Queen and looking at the writing on the floor. He feels around at it, then finds her Spirit--despite the fact that her Spirit had been simply the letter 'Q' before. "Tchanta... your name... your old name... they're all connected somehow." Fadran, acting on a hunch, Forged a Spirit Bond to her name written on the floor. Sure enough, he could see her Spirit through her name. "Your magic... I haven't seen something like it for quite some time. It's a power passed down through blood; something not so uncommon, I admit. However, its functionality is... unique." Fadran frowns, thinking. "There's an ocean of potential hiding behind a wall. An ocean of magical strength waiting to be tapped. It's connected to your mind, your blood, your Spirit... it's connected to a number of things." He continues studying the Spirit, discovering as much as he can about the magic. "This magic is vast, everywhere and nowhere--it's intangible, and by using it, you're only guiding it to wherever it is it wants to go. You're not controlling it, and it's not controlling you. In your bloodline, there's a trait that... opens a door, so to speak. Once this door is open, you can tap into the magic flowing through it, and do... just about anything." Fadran scratches his head. "So why can't you... oh wait. I think I got it." Fadran moves his hands about in an attempt to give a visual, though he probably looks like a fool doing so. "This doorway is locked in a number of places. Each lock can be opened by a part of you; your mind, your Spirit, your actions. When you open one of these locks, you can tap into the magic, but only do specific things based on what lock you opened." Fadran starts to get excited--he's obviously never encountered magic like this before. "There are limitless possibilities here! All you have to do is draw upon one of your attributes, and something will happen! Before, after..." Fadran slows down, realizing that he was about to wander into Queen's personal life with an upbeat attitude, "after Journey died, you lost a part of you. So earlier, when you ordered Tchanta to help you find part of your magic, you opened a lock that you couldn't have accessed without Journey. And right now... right now, you can only write your name, because you've only ever known a few of these outlets. After you chose to take your old name back, you unlocked a part of yourself, and... well, I guess a lot of magic was pent up back there, because now all you can do is write your name." He nods to himself. "So by finding more parts of yourself, key attributes to your personality and mind, you can access this ocean of magic in nearly infinite ways. All you have to do... is find those parts."
  2. "That's always a plus." Should I tell them about you guys? Fadran asks the holed. You, the gemstone, Vapor's father, etc? @xinoehp512
  3. Dear gosh, what has become of this? Quick, Robin, to the RP!!!! *Batman Danananana* "So... guys," Fadran asks aloud, "what's the plan? We're stuck here, we're the king's 'honored guest,' and these holed are hundreds of times more powerful than we are. Currently, we have a few things; Vapor's connection with her father, the king's 'protection,' this servant guy, and... what else besides the cheesy yet heartwarming each other?" Fadran thinks for a moment.
  4. Here's a map of Ivinan by the way. Hope it helps clear some stuff up:
  5. "Of course!" Fadran replies. "Go ahead and make up that lost time. It's not like any of us are going to be leaving anytime soon." Dear gosh, I wish I could leave sometime soon. Fadran muses. And Vapor... what does this world want with you?
  6. "Because we miss you when you're gone, that's why." What would I have to do? Fadran asks. Nothing... inhumane? "Not a huge fan of pineapple, but thank you."
  7. "Uhh... no. I'm not Bound to this place in any way." "Probably, yeah. I think Shadesmar is a better option than this place, though." And what's that? Fadran asks. Vapor again? Fadran sees her.
  8. Fadran looks up. "It's just... we can't leave." He shakes his head. "To think that I spent most of my life on only one planet, but now that I can't leave this one, I'm suddenly all stressed..." He taps his finger against the pommel of his Channelblade. "I'm... confused. I don't know what to do at this point." "There... I don't know." He shakes his head. "I think you're the reason why I could make a Parallarity to Roshar; because you and I are Bound, in Spirit at least."
  9. Fadran nods, not taking in the words entirely, still thinking deeply. "How do we...?" Fadran shook his head. "Maybe we can...? But still..."
  10. This is getting weirder by the minute. Which, as I just stated, is a good thing. In any case, we'd best be getting back on-topic. What do you think is Brandon's religious outlet in his books? Just his various religions, or something different?
  11. I think you're weird. There's a difference. Being not insane is good; being not weird is bad.
  12. I actually seriously doubt that, so maybe we aren't the same person.
  13. AHA!!! So we are the same person from alternate universes! I WAS RIGHT!!!
  14. In the servants' chamber (I'm assuming we're there), Fadran sits down and starts thinking deeply, as characterized by his unseeing stare at the fireplace. He fingers his Channelblade, the arm of the chair, the table next to it; anything that his hands think is worth fingering. He mutters to himself under his breath uncomprehensively, and nothing about his body language says anything about what he could possibly be thinking about.
  15. "Let's see... that abandoned island place, the Alleyverse, another abandoned island place, the Iconar Collective, this place, and--hopefully--Roshar."
  16. Hello everyone! It's been awhile since I've explored and written about another world; you can blame the Fellowship of the Thing for that. In any case, I've finally taken the time to write about a favorite world of mine: Earth. I'm not sure what the official name for Earth's Universe is, because the locals simply call it "The Universe." There are no shortage of planets there, but only a few are inhabited as far as I can tell. Earth itself is of great interest, because it houses a race of creatures known as "humans." They do resemble humans from most other realms (the Cosmere, the Omniverse, and the Alleyverse, to name a few), which is more than I can say about some other species (*COUGH* Kobolds *COUGH*). In this world of Earth, they don't refer to their own system of magic as... well, magic. Rather, they call it by a number of names; 'Electricity' is one of them, 'Weather' is another, and so are "Hydraulics." Hydraulics are of great interest to me, due to the simplicity of its concept, and the complication of its implication. The process of Hydraulics follow the intense heating of a double-Hydrogen bonded Oxygen molecule called "water" (yes, I'm aware that water exists in other places), and the evaporation of said water into its gaseous form, "steam." Like all matter in this Universe, evaporating water also expands the volume of said water. As the water evaporates into steam, pressure is built, and at a certain threshold, this pressure can move even the largest of machines. Enormous turbines, pistons, and self-driving vehicles called 'trains' are all powered by these Hydraulics. The method for evaporating this water has changed over the years, from coal-powered stoves, to nuclear fission reactors powered by firing neutrons via particle accelerator into masses of the heavy metal "plutonium." The locals of Earth have taken these hydraulics farther than simply moving large metal contraptions; using the evaporation of water and pressure of steam, they have developed a way of controlling 'electricity.' Using coal, water, and a turbine, humans have harnessed the power of lightning. I'm not entirely sure how this 'electicity' works, however; in fact, I don't even know if their local 'electicians' do. In any case, I'm going to make sure to return to this world someday, and discover their strange 'electromagnetic waves' in the form of magical tablets called "cell phones." Edit: Aw, heck. I always forget the prompt: Watching Movies and Playing Video Games
  17. "There are waaaay too many different worlds." Fadran says. "In my lifetime I've explored at least seventy; and I've observed at least that many from afar."
