"Maybe, but that's no different from jumping out the window." Ahna glanced behind her, taking another look at how far below the ground was.

Ayia nodded, turning away. "My best friend and I were thieves too. And then we were rebels. He didn't make it either."

Ayia crossed her arms. "Would you care to explain why there's such a large bounty on your head?"

"Why the hell would I know? I only just got here!" Ahna grit her teeth and swiped at another assailant.

"So... I take it this isn't a major system?"

Ayia shrugged. "I dunno. You're the one insisting we get off the planet."

"Aye, I get that."

"What kind of magic were you practicing?"

"So what exactly... are you?" Ayia asked.

Ayia managed to prevent herself from prepping a weapon - just in case.

"Probably? It's a really long, really complicated set of doohickeys. In general it's just best not to think about it at all."

"Well... not really fighting. Kind of just corraling it away from a populated universe to let it rampage in peace before getting tired enough for us to put it to sleep."

"Oh yeah. I guess I shoulda continued that..." Ayia grinned sheepishly. "Well basically, we can use maths to rewrite certain aspects of physics over small areas. That's why I can..." She summoned a metal quarterstaff, holding it horizontally in front of her... then Stabalized it, bringing her hand away for it to float in place. "My Line works the same way, just with different maths and such. It's... a lot to explain. But that's less important than the fact that I was in the middle of helping some friends of mine fight off an eldritch horror when I wound up here."

Ayia frowned. "Did I not mention the portal?"

"I figured that out. Y'know... bounty and all." Ayia looked over to meet Allera's eyes. "What's it for?"

"I'm Ayia, by the way," she said to Variance.

"Great choice! Now how the heck do we get off this planet?"

Ayia turned back, once again, to the one called Lyri. "Your call, sis."

"Great. And will you help us if we do that?"
