Trace finished tying off the rope. "We'll see how your powers fare when I'm through with you. Do you know what I'm doing, Cadenza?"

"Ah-ah-ah..." The Chosen One wagged a finger. "That threat only works if I'm in a dire situation. I'm not currently in a dire situation; you are."

"You should be." Trace pulled out some rope she'd taken from Vespyr's stores, then tied Cadenza to a tree.

Trace pulled her out of sight, checking to make sure they hadn't been followed. "Now," Trace said, "like I said earlier, I'd like you to be properly terrified." @Vapor? @Negative_Null? @Matrim's Dice?

"Or we could take an old building I know of."

"Well," Trace replied, starting to pull Cadenza towards the nearby woodland, "then you should understand how impossible it is to give up my body."

"You don't think will be used at all anymore?"

Jessica sighed. "I had a feeling you'd react that way. You wouldn't happen to know a place we could set up shop, would you?"

"That'd be like giving away your ice powers because your worst enemy told you to."

"I'm Jessica. You can only call me Jess if we're in a dangerous situation and you need to communicate quickly."

Trace relaxed her grip, pulling Cadenza to her feet and holding a dagger to her throat. "No one is going to follow me," Trace announced. "If they do, she dies."

"You're coming with me," Trace growled, "and if you struggle, I'll give you a reason to squirm."

"Sweet! That kicks our membership up to two; three, if this person joins." Jessica thumbed at Shadow.

"A crew of villains. See, I'm forming a guild."

Trace threw her back and moved on, squeezing her hand tighter around Cadenza's throat.

"No jobs yet... I'm throwing together a crew."

"I will not die today unless it is to save a dear--and probably super hot--loved one, of which you have taken none captive!"

Trace's dagger returned to her hand, and she stabbed him just above the heart.

As Jay grabbed her, Trace closed her fist and released a burst of power from her wrist.

"I will defeat you all, in the name of justice!"

The Chosen One appears. "Stop in the name of justice!"

Trace, hand still on Cadenza's throat, whipped around and hurled her dagger at Jay's chest.
