"Remind me to give your mom a talking-to if we ever see her again." Ellis cracked open the hot dogs and stuck one at the end of his stick, then held it over the fire and waited for it to cook. Ellis passed her the bag, smiling quietly to himself.

Ellis was incredulous. "You call yourself a camper but you've never used actual sticks?"

Ellis grabbed a few sticks off the ground, handing one to everybody. "Here are the roasting sticks."

"There's plenty of room in the big tent." Ellis sat down on a log by the fire. "Should we do hot dogs or s'mores first?"

They reached the base proper. Chris flipped on a light, revealing his mess of random junk.

"Well... it's about sunset. Should we get started? Melody, what do you think?"

"That we did," Ellis held up a bag of hot dogs and whatnot. "You started a fire?"

"Phaedrus... should I take him now? Or should we keep him here? What do the kippies think?"
