  1. "So we're in a prison right now?" Ellis circled his finger around in the air. "And the powers of Narrators... why would I be able to feel that, but not anybody else?"
  2. "In some places, sure. In other places, not so much." "Again, in some places. Universal laws really don't work when you've got more than one universe."
  3. "The space in between universes isn't exactly space but more of an idea. Universes aren't just bubbles of matter in a sea of nothing; they all coexist in an immaterial way."
  4. "So everywhere is compromised?" Tomrin frowned, then widened his eyes. "Why aren't there any guards unless they're planning on getting rid of us some other way?"
  5. "The children behind Astara screamed and ran, leaving her to face the beast alone."
  6. "What was it called, then? And what's a luxsprite?" "There... kinda is, I guess? From what scholars have come up with, the space between the universes is just as undefined as the universes themselves."
  7. "Storytime?" Ellis askd, a little excitedly.
  8. "The... rainbow threads? Vibrant threads?" Ayia scratched her head. "Something like that." @xinoehp512
  9. "And in its jaws was the tattered clothing of the children's father."
  10. Leonas blinked, then said, "it was... a... dragon."
  11. "Well, uhh... there are two big interuniversal empires. Or... two that we know of, anyways."
  12. Ayia waved dismissively. "Nothing. I've just always wanted to say something like that. Probably the most important thing to understand is that nothing I'm going to say is solid scientific fact. Every universe follows its own rules, so trying to make interuniversal laws is a finnicky and overall pointless process."
  13. "Because the threats here aren't just Cosmere. Wyrn's teamed up with my home's emperor and no shortage of primordial beings, and I don't think he's doing it just to maintain control over a single planet. We're dealing with something a whole lot bigger than Sel or even the Cosmere; we're dealing with the Macrosmos at large, and that's kinda no bueno."
  14. "Y'know, kid..." Ayia pulled up a chair and sat down. "I'm wondering if you should be telling us about a single universe, or if I should be telling you about all the universes."
  15. "Uhh... yeah. I guess so." Ayia shrugged. "Or we could work on finding more of those outposts. See if all of them use Remote Stabalization and Duckdor Monks or whatever they're called..."
  16. "Not here. He left a note." She held it up and read it aloud. "'Off pocket-dimension hopping with Nathrangking to save Vapor. Will be back soon. No guarantees as to my mental acuity upon my return. XOXO, Channelknight Fadran.'" Ayia smiled and put her hand against her heart. "Aww, he sends hugs and kisses!"
  17. "Then get to it. I'd rather we end this lockdown sooner than later."
  18. "Interrogate them all; Personally, if you must."
  19. "There are always assassins," the king sighed. "What of the prisoners? How many have you arrested for disobeying lockdown directions?"
  20. "I was going to ask you about that. Is it safe to end it?"
  21. "Hm." Ivian nodded. "Very well. Release her. See to it that she isn't harmed, though."
