  1. "...It probably doesn't exist in this universe. At least, not the same way it would in yours." Ayia thought about it for a minute. "If it's anything like most magical energy fields... well, there's really no saying. The Macrosmos doesn't really have any 'rules' or 'laws' or whatever, but generally when something from one universe enters another, they slightly permeate it with the magic and laws of their universe of origin. In terms of magic that would mean you still have partial access to this Fourth stuff, but to a significantly lesser degree."
  2. "...And where does Fourth come from?" She shook her head.
  3. "Where do these reality-breaking, void-bringing, world-eating monstrosities come from?"
  4. "Consequences? Of what variety?"
  5. "That's the problem with mixing magic between universes. The rules are different everywhere - and generally speaking, your own magic will be weaker away from your home universe. Sometimes you'll lose access to it entirely, depending on where it's sourced. As for your permanent flags... there are millions of magic systems that Beorin has access to that are just as immutable, and with enough fenangling they could probably find a way to work around yours in a matter of hours. When unstoppable forces meet immovable objects, it's however you design the terrain that determines what ultimately comes out on top." Ayia crossed her arms over his chest. "If I had to guess, they don't have anything at their immediate disposal to directly counteract your Tempest. The best-case scenario for us is that they stop your domain from spreading after awhile, but the worst is that they can compress it down somewhat. Either way you'll probably still have access to your powers, but they'll be significantly more limited than they would be on your homeworld."
  6. "Then I suspect it won't be long before they've eliminated your flag," she replied, "and protected the entire area from any further manipulation."
  7. "Is it possible to take a flagged area? Conventionally, anyway."
  8. "Have you flagged any of this ship yet?" She asked. "And are you always consciously aware of what areas you have control over?"
  9. "Actually, Strohger," Ayia said, "your magic works by... he said it's some kind of domain-type thing?"
  10. "Certainly. But we won't be able to by any conventional means."
  11. "They're Beorin. They suspect everything."
  12. The suite was... big.
  13. "My report has yet to reach my superiors. Once they have a reply as to what might happen, you will be informed."
  14. "Yourselves, in this case."
  15. "Your quarters are not far from here. It's a suite we've kept in reserve for special guests. Make no mistake, we don't intend for you to leave - but only the entrances and exits are monitored. Otherwise, you are free to converse and act as you please."
  16. "And last of all... the one who calls herself Dite." His gaze turned to Ayia. "An interesting alias you've chosen." She didn't respond.
  17. "Ah. Necromancy." The admiral nodded. "A forbidden art from your world too, then? I've found that there's quite the theme of that."
  18. "And what powers were those, might I ask?"
  19. "Your luminous friend... who are they?"
