  1. Nameless glanced at Thaidakar's arm. "Why are you holding your arm like that? It's not hurt."
  2. Nameless sighed. "Yes. Unintelligible was so amazing that you completely forgot to mention him in your story of how Sequence turned good."
  3. "I am trustworthy because I kept you alive. If not for Unintelligible, the Witherlord would have killed you."
  4. Nameless appeared in a flash of light. "Thaidakar, your memory is completely untrustworthy. And I highly doubt that Sequence is still on our side."
  5. Nameless replied that his point had been made. Movies are made for money, and while other things do motivate people to make them, money is almost without exception the main motivator.
  6. Nameless shrugged and said that the series would've ended there if it hadn't made money. Because movies are made to make money, and if a series doesn't make money, then it ends.
  7. Nameless said that George Lucas would never have had the money to hire actors or get cameras or make miniatures if movies didn't make money.
  8. Nameless replied that it would never have been greenlighted by the executives in charge of making sure their stuff made money. And that Star Wars would never have existed if movies didn't make money.
  9. Brandon seemed much more downbeat than normal.
  10. Nameless pointed out that if the movie hadn't made money, it wouldn't have been made.
  11. Nameless pointed out that unlike movies, TLT was not created solely to generate money.
  12. Nameless pointed to the fact that Moni actually hadn't killed Thaidakar. And to the fact that Nameless had only exploded Spook after he had killed Moni. And to the fact that all of this had actually been in a movie.
  13. Meanwhile in a different dimension, Nameless was unhappily unaware of anyone who thought that he and his least violent avatar ever had tried to kill them. He was too busy with other things to particularly care, even if he had known.
  14. The excellent taste stubbornly lingered in Spook's mouth.
  15. Michael realized that he was holding a carmel brownie.
  16. Someone else disappeared into the shadows.
  17. Nothing . Nameless stared at the spot where Shar had been in silence.
  18. The area before Sequence blurred, fading to match the blankness of the rest of her surroundings.
  19. The Parshendi are the far-off ancestors of a group of Singers that rebelled against the Fused, going so far as to take up dullform to do so, sacrificing much of their intellectual capacity. Because of this, their culture (as preserved by the songs) is very fearful of their old gods, the Fused. So to answer your question, It was because the Parshendi both feared their gods and knew from the songs that they would bring great destruction.
  20. Before Sequence the darkness faded, revealing a man standing alone on a hill, head bowed. Before him a fallen sword lay glittering in the night, but he made no move to pick it up. He merely watched, face expressionless, until it faded away.
  21. They stared Jasper in total silence for an uncomfortable length of time. One of them didn't appear to notice Jasper at all, she appeared to be rather preoccupied with jumping up and down in a panic. Someone else absently handed Jasper a donut. "Now's your chance to run, if you're smart enough to take it."
  22. Thaidakar looked down at his hand, shocked to see a baked pretzel in it.
  23. Moni sighed and continued walking, munching on her croissant.
