  1. Scadrial is an anomaly? Do you mean that it was created by shards?
  2. I doubt it. That seems like a silly plot point, and one that's unnecessary. Like, what's an easier assumption: That Preservation and Ruin specifically created aluminum differently for the sole purpose of including it in their magic system, or that aluminum can function in magic systems on its own?
  3. I doubt that would give him immortality or any of the other benefits and downsides of holding a Dawnshard. And Ryns's Dawnshard doesn't seem likely to give a no-killing effect anyways.
  4. If that was true, then metallurgists would have discovered real aluminum, and Scadrian aluminum likely wouldn't have blocked investiture.
  5. Nameless considered. "How about you let my avatar go first?" He glanced at the Wanderer curiously. "And why hasn't anyone managed to do this before? It wasn't that hard."
  6. "Yeah. The Skeins gave me a little bit of luxsprite energy. I figured that if the Witherlord could convert almost anything into a withergeist, the opposite had to be possible as well." He glanced at the converter sword. "Now that I think about it, this thing probably shouldn't be in sword form. Someone might try to use it as a weapon." He converted it down into a four-pointed medallion, which he hung around his neck.
  7. "Oh, no. This sword is a converter. It contains the template for all four energies, and should be able to convert all of them into each other." Nameless squinted at the second sword he'd made. "This should be luxite."
  8. Nameless nodded. "So it can work as I'd hoped, then." He pressed a few more buttons on the machine, causing a large mass of concentrated Earwaxium to coalesce in its center. A few more button presses, and the machine formed a slot for his blade. Nameless stuck the sword into it, then focused. The power inside flowed through the blade and into his left hand, forming another sword. "This one should be able to kill the Witherlord."
  9. "What happened to the luxsprites that were corrupted by the Witherlord? What did they become?"
  10. Nameless pressed a few more buttons, causing the sword to teleport to his hand. "That I did. My sword is ready. The most powerful object in all of TLT. In theory, at least." He hesitated, looking at the Knight. "May I ask a question?"
  11. The four powers were drawn into the machine, swirling around each other. Then a change seemed to come across them. They became... less. And yet not. As if they lost all energy while still retaining every aspect that made them up. the four not-powers swirled, coalesced. There was a blinding flash of light and dark. And then silence. (of the lowercase-s variety)
  12. Nameless laughed, a slightly maniacal glint coming into his eyes as he pressed a few more buttons, purifying the Silence and Wither energy. He pulled the lever.
  13. "I need all the essences in their purest form in order for this to work properly." Nameless pressed a few more buttons, and a line of light shot out into Mythos, drawing out the chaotic darkness from his soul.
  14. "How close is Silence in essence to ordered darkness?"
  15. Nameless smiled. "Now, how pure is Silence, exactly? I could probably figure it out on my own, but, well... a mistake might be dangerous."
  16. "I told you, I'm making a sword. To kill the Witherlord." Nameless pressed some more buttons. "Hm. Mythos, you ready?" A line of light shot out into Mythos.
  17. Nameless glanced up at the shield. "Ah, perfect." He pressed another button, and a line of light shot out of the machine into the shield, drawing it into the machine.
  18. "Actually, sure. I'm making a sword." Nameless pressed a button, causing the machine to start whirring rapidly, energy coalescing around it.
  19. "Look. I just feel the need to be annoying and capricious. It's in my nature as a Narrator." Nameless stopped trying to cut through the wall and started fiddling with his machine.
  20. Nameless stabbed into the wall between him and Moni. "I'm not trying to turn this into a fight."
  21. "Actually, I don't believe we did." Nameless summoned his Narrationblade, pointing it at the consultant. "And I don't believe I am going to leave."
  22. "Well, I'm here to show solidarity with my avatar, of course. I'm objecting to her imprisonment by voluntarily remaining with her."
  23. "Ah. I have no idea why everyone besides Mythos and Moni are here. Or how they got here."
