  1. The scratching followed him. "Well, it's your worst nightmare come true."
  2. Shadow's ruminations were cut short by a scratching sound on the stone behind him. Nameless winced. "Sorry about that mate. You might want to join me in here, honestly."
  3. Nameless smiled gratefully. "Thanks. By the way, do either of you have arachnophobia?"
  4. "Oh, definitely. Given what's about to happen out there," Nameless shivered visibly at this. "I'd much rather stay nice and safe in here."
  5. "No really, could you make it unopenable from the outside? Seriously, you'd be doing me a huge favor." The tugging continued. It would be with Shadow for the remained of his life.
  6. "Wait, Mythos? You were part of this? Thank you so much. If you could just seal me off in this cage, I'd really appreciate it." The tugging increased again.
  7. Nameless sighed in relief. "Thanks. I knew you'd help me out Abomination." Rep snorted. "Yeah, multiversal entity? I got it. Well, the machine will work eventually." The pulling began to increase in strength.
  8. Nameless looked at the bars curiously. "I assume this cell can hold a Narrator? And is completely impenetrable from the outside without the proper key?"
  9. "Well, it's not out yet, so I don't think that would work." Nameless shrugged and started walking out of the cell. "Too bad."
  10. Rep ducked again. "Shacage 3000 hasn't got you yet? You have more willpower than I thought." Nameless walked into the cell and powered on the computer, looking through the library of games. "No, I don't see Silksong."
  11. Rep ducked to avoid shrapnel, wincing. "I guess leaving on Shacage 1 was a bad idea. Not enough power stabilizers." "No Silksong? I'll pass."
  12. The Shacage 3000 recalibrated, locating the correct Shadow in whatever universe he'd run off to and continuing to pull. "Hm. What games does that console have?"
  13. The Shacage 3000 continued tugging on Shadow, slowly eating away at his willpower. Nameless yawned, waking up. "Oh hi Abomination. How's it going. You ready to die yet?"
  14. Nameless narrowed his eyes in annoyance. Rep sighed. "Well, too bad. I guess I can't go through with my plan to use you to break open a portal to other threads. Unless I manage to find the machine, at least. It works at long range you know." Shadow felt a ripping sensation as the Shacage 3000 yanked him into the containment unit. Nameless teleported in, slapped Abomination around a bit, grabbed all his stuff, and chucked it into a portal to the spiders.
  15. Shards show some of the same effects. Their cognitive aspects get worn down over the years until they're more the power than they are the person. The herald's insanity is specific to them, but every immortal being we've seen either has an explanation as to why they're not insane yet, is worried about being insane, (Like Thaidakar) or is insane.
  16. Nameless smiled happily as he dumped three billion tons of extremely advanced technology down the portal to the waiting throng of spiders. "Exactly why this machine was so difficult to make." Rep twisted a socket into place with the wrench, then powered up the machine. Lard shivered. "Feels like someone's walking on my grave."
  17. Nameless whistled happily as he threw a fully functional interdimensional travel device through the portal, wondering if Moni's plan to teach Thaidakar the value of avatar lives would work. Rep turned around slowly. "Nothing much. Just making a gadget to help with bounty hunting. Say, could you pass me that socket wrench?"
  18. Indeed you can. Would you like some waffles?
  19. Nameless watched him walk away, surreptitiously dropping a warp drive into a portal to the spider planet. "I wonder how long he'll be staying in the present. Probably not too long." Meanwhile, Rep was putting the finishing touches on his Shadow-capturing machine underneath Starbucks. With the tech he'd stolen from Nowhere, putting it together had been a breeze. If everything went well, he'd soon be the richest and most powerful person in all of TLT.
  20. Nameless shrugged. "Wise wizard? Everyone has a weird take on who I am these days. Anyways, I'm going to go blow up that world ruled by spiders that I just accidentally created. Wouldn't want them spreading out into the wider universe."
  21. "Because normal is boring. If you wanted to change it up a little, why not create a new planet ruled by spiders or something? Narrators don't have to ruin people's lives. We just have to create things."
  22. "Okay. In that case, uhhhhhhhhhh, what exactly is your backstory?"
  23. “You do that. I’ll see if I can convince Thaidakar that she was evil.”
  24. “I dunno. I think she may have been a secret agent for some faction that was working against him.”
  25. “That wasn’t the question. Why were you on a date?” “Thaidakar went on a date, for some reason.”
