    To his surprise, Nin's apprentice knew battle, assassination, warmongering, strategy, how not to fail, science, and history all very well. Better, in some cases, than Spook himself. Nin's apprentice overheard this planning and glared at Arbiter in warning.

    Nin’s apprentice shrugged and nodded, eyes glittering from the shadows of his hooded face.

    The assassination was unsuccessful, as Nin’s apprentice was still too angry to die.

    So Nin's apprentice chopped off his writing hand in an attempt to void the contract. Unfortunately, it grew right back.

    He was unable to wield any magical weapons until fulfilling his end of the deal.

    Nin's apprentice groaned in pain, right hand wreathed in flames. "That sounds great. Can you maybe bite my hand off?"
