  1. One of the spirits landed in front of Everyone. "Hey, you. You don't need this guy. You should kill him."
  2. The spirits swirling around the Eizard muttered angrily.
  3. Adreus shook his head. "You go. That one... he and I have a history. Best if you go alone."
  4. "No, wait!" The woman pointed towards a far-off hill. "Over there, there's a person who can get you rock tears. He's the living guy surrounded by a ton of dead spirits."
  5. "I... can't say. They'd be rather upset with me if I betrayed their secrets."
  6. The woman gasped in terror. "Are you going to eat me if I don't tell you the answer?"
  7. "Hm. Unfortunately, I have no idea how rocks cry either. Maybe ask some dead person, they can tell you all about it."
  8. "A drop of blood from a Narrator, three tears from a stone, the heart of an urn dragon, and seventy innocent souls."
  9. "This wasn't on any page. We weren't important enough for Narrators."
  10. "Well, they were better than now. The ancient powers were commonplace, and me and some other likeminded scholars decided to use it for good. There were a good few centuries that we fought for a better world, but eventually we went too far. Tried to awaken powers that should have been left sealed, and... well, it didn't go well."
  11. "A boost, eh? That doesn't sound ominous at all." Adreus chuckled. "Oh, this reminds me of old times. Fighting alongside my peers. Before... well, before it all went wrong."
  12. Adreus turned his skull to face Bloodsealer. "And you are?"
  13. "I'd need some rather rare ingredients to even have a chance at breaking the seals on my old friend's prison. And that's ignoring the massive undead army sworn to protect the seals."
  14. "Oh, no. I'm pretty sure he was sealed away long ago, in a prison that not even my spells could penetrate." Adreus nodded sagely.
  15. Adreus turned, surprise filling his flaming eye sockets. "You? I thought you were gone for good."
  16. It was Adreus' second curse, hidden behind the first. Since no one could see Steven as evil, now they could no longer see him at all.
  17. Adreus stepped into the afterlife, burning with rage. That fool Steven beat me? Three hundred years of preparing for the next adventurer to challenge me, and he kills me in less than five minutes? Abruptly, he smiled. He truly is an opponent worth fighting. Now, to claw my way back to real life again, so I can unleash my army and conquer all of TLT.
  18. Adreus burst from beneath the mountains, skeletal face wreathed in black flames. "Well then, this is going to be fun."
  19. Adreus coughed loudly, glaring at the group of adventurers. "Actually, my curse didn't change Steven at all. It just made everyone else feel just as disgusted by him as I did."
  20. Escape by KILLING ALL OF THOSE WHO OPPOSED HIM! (He was a rather experienced villain, after all)
  21. Adreus gasped, staring at Steven. "You mean... You're here to free Steven from the spell I cast on him?" His eyes teared up. "You mean someone finally decided to see me as a villain? It's been so long."
  22. Adreus casually vaporized Nin's apprentice's third arm, then blasted him across the room. "Answer the question. Why have you come after me?"
  23. Adreus stumbled backwards, casting out blindly with his powers to de-canonize whatever attack was coming towards him and throwing up an impenetrable shield between himself and Nin's party. "Wait, are you a group of adventurers determined to take me down? Seriously?"
  24. Adreus gasped in shock, barely getting a shield up in time to save himself.
