    Nameless snorted. "I know he's here Nowhere. That Croling wouldn't leave his side."

    "Fine. Rond appears to have escaped from me, and I wanted to know if you knew where he was." Nameless glanced at the Croling absently, then did a double-take. "Actually, disregard that. Where is Rond?"

    Nameless walked into the door, stopping briefly to admire the shifting flows of light. "Hey Nowhere, how's it going?"

    It was a very impressive lightbulb.

    "Yes, well, we'll have to work on that. Don't worry, I have plenty of experience helping people overcome hatred of people. My first apprentice was far more vengeful than you."

    Nin smiled wryly. "I'm your teacher. Making sure you don't turn into a vengeful wreck is basically my only job."

    "Thaidakar was a Narrator. He had more power than you can comprehend, and all things considered, he didn't do too bad a job with it. Never judge a man unltil you've walked a mile in his shoes."

    Nin let out an exasperated sigh. "Really, I don't know why they name people AdoKho so much. Every apprentice I've had by that name has hated someone. Why on earth do you hate Thaidakar?"
