    "Most people just call me the Priest." The Priest shrugged. "I will admit that I'm not much of an exorcist. I prefer a good wedding." He then stood in silence, watching Pyk and Asher's conversation with increasing unease. "Have you two known each other long?" @SpiritOfWrath It will work only on those with particularly weak wills, or who feel a particularly strong desire for my power. While that may be true, the Magnificent Bastard trope is normally associated with villains. I'd say that you have a decent chance at claiming the Plotblade of Antagonist. If you wanted to. "Wait, that's your Plotblade?" Balitan's voice held a measure of incredulity. "Magnificent Bastard? Really?" He looked like he was beginning to wonder what he'd gotten himself into.

    "Oh, hello. Are you Asher?" The guards scramble for the blade, quickly turning against each other. In moments, they were all dead. That works, I guess. Better than fighting. Now, we must be going. In that back room there is a magical mirror that will allow you to travel where you wish. Nameless' eyebrows raised. An interesting Blade. Surprisingly close in intent to another... Balitan was confused. "Wait. Did you say what your Blade was?"

    "No drinking while you're possessing someone. Is Asher even drinking age?" Hm. A golden dagger fell from Rebel's belt, sparkling enticingly as it fell through the air, landing point-first in the stone. The guards look at each other, then rushed for the weapon. Nameless places a hand on the Plotblade. Interesting. Balitan, activate the scanner, would you? Balitan rankles a bit at the order, but he quickly activates a scanner, running it over the Plotblade. "Rebus, what did you say this Plotblade was again?"

    "Yep! That's exactly where I'm going. The death management center or something."

    Well, the Priest is fun. "Maybe. Where are you going?" Another guard fell screaming. The rest of them overcame their surprise, pressing in around Rebel in a semicircle, three of them pressing spears towards Rebel. Nonsense would have some use for research. But others would be better.

    HE DETECTS ROMANCE He's a nice guy that's worried about the possibly demon-possessed and obviously traumatized person? "Don't mind me. I've just remembered where I'm going."

    The Priest followed after Cade and Pyk, Opening his book and flipping through the pages.

    "I suppose that's plausible." The Priest stepped to the side. "If you're trying to unfuse with... Asher, did you say her name was? Then by all means, don't let me stop you."

    The Priest frowned. "I think you'd best explain. Why aren't you possessing her? How did the angel get in there?"

    "The angel?" The Priest looked shocked. "I didn't know angels possessed people."

    The Priest raised an eyebrow. "Seraphina? Is that the name of the woman you're possessing?"

    Golden light spirals out around the Priest, harmlessly dissipating the fire. His eyes flashed with anger. "Really? I was beginning to think you might be reasonable. I suppose I'll have to exorcise you after all." He pulled the large book from his back, then paused, glancing around. "I don't suppose you have any water?"

    The Priest rolls his eyes at Cade.

    The Priest crossed his arms. "No."

    The Priest snorted. "Try it, and I'll be forced to take drastic measures. Right now, I have the luxury of figuring out what exactly is going on with you. Attack me or start hurting people and that changes."

    "Then why's your voice all weird? And why are you showing all the spiritual signs of demonhood, along with a bunch of other jumbled signals I can't make out, despite clearly having a human body?"

    "That's exactly what a demon possessing someone would say." The man said matter-of-factly. "Do you perhaps know where you're going?"

    "Well, I am a priest." The man shrugged. "Dealing with demon possessions is hardly my specialty, but it is part of my job description."

    "I'm not entirely sure." Cade squints at Cade. "This might be an odd question, but... are you a demon possessing this young woman?" The guard attempted to dodge, Cursed Treasure barely slicing his arm. The guard stumbled, then screamed in agony as his flesh melted from his body. In moments, he was a pile of bones on the floor. The other guards stepped back, shocked. I need a real Plotblade, not a quasi-Plotblade. "What do you want with a Plotblade?" Balitan asked. "I thought we were researching the fundamental substances?" Plotblades are powerful. And they don't seem to quite fit with any of the currently established axes. Rebus, if you're trying to discover new axes and forms of magic, the Plotblades would be where to start.

    The guards fought through the utility fog, drawing weapons and slowly moving to surround Rebel. Once you get Mordite, see if you can get a Plotblade as well. One whose function you don't particularly care about. The drone picked up the button and teleported away. Malevolence won't be able to respond for a bit, for reasons that will be clear eventually. (Those reasons may or may not involve a concussion due to several high speed collisions.) Did somebody say TLT romance? And assuming you're talking about wedding invitations, you might have a bit of a trip. And also, you might have trouble convincing @LessName to add you to the guest list. A man wearing with glasses and grey robes walked up to Pyk and Cade. On his back was slung an impressively large book that was embossed with flowing gold. In the center of the book's cover was set a ruby that seemed to reflect just a little too much light. "Er, excuse me, I'm terribly sorry to intrude, but... I believe I am lost." He adjusted his glasses awkwardly. "Quite lost, actually. Very lost indeed."

    On the other side of the door, about ten men in robes spun around in shock, reaching for weapons. Five had been playing cards, three leapt from their beds, and one dashed in from another room, a white piece of paper trailing from his leg. I know. Just ensuring you had all your facts correct. The drone reached out a mechanical arm and pressed the button.

    I can drain their strength and add it to my own, as I did with those who tried to steal me. I would agree on both points, except to point out that Malevolence still does not know his real family. "I guess it could be." Balitan scratched his head. "Maybe I should look back into finding my parents." Thanks! Several small drones appeared, scanning the battlefield. One approached the armor, running a scan over it, pulling free the small object with a tiny mechanical arm.

    Their weapons are magical, and their leaders have long been corrupted by their desire for my power. They will not serve you. Someone was misrepresenting the power of Narrators. It always gets on my nerves. Nameless's eye stopped twitching. Looks like they're done. So, what's your guess? I'm going with alternate reality version of Malevolence. Balitan broke his eyes away from the hologram. "He could be a relative. I never knew my family growing up." I figured that could be the case, which is why I wrote it somewhat vague as to where the drone was launching Malevolence from. Explanatory comic: Malevolence swept the Mordite blade through Rebus's armor in the blink of an eye, then hit the ground hard and rolled, crashed, and tumbled before finally being stopped by a wall just outside the teleportation field. He teleported away on impact.

    Rebel emerged into an cavernous room, lined with ornate pillars. The walls were intricately carved with a series of engravings depicting a series of events involving rebel, showing him as a mighty warrior king that had been placed in an endless slumber by a jealous Narrator. There are more in that guard room over there. Something made Rebel look at an almost unnoticeable door, designed to blend in among the ornate stone carvings of the walls. "Sure, yeah..." Balitan continued staring at the hologram of Malevolence. "He looks just like me." Could still be a clone. Nameless noted. Or some other trick from Malevolence. His eye started twitching suddenly. Blast it. Is someone downplaying Narrators again? Unhinged laughter rang out from Malevolence's helm. "You think you can break me? You think I will falter before death's gaze? You are wrong! I fear not death, for even death shall tremble at my name!" At his words, Malevolence's armor broke apart into a dozen pieces that flew through the air and clamped onto Rebus, sending out pulses of Enulling energy. Beneath it was not Malevolence, but merely empty air. At the same time, the large drone split in half with an explosion that launched half of it towards Rebus at a speed two steps above insane. This half split open to reveal Malevolence, Mordite Blade in hand. It split again, a second explosion launching Malevolence and a small disk at an even more insane speed straight towards Rebus. He raised his Mordite Blade, moving at such a speed that, despite all the laws of epic storytelling, he had no time for a dramatic final word before reaching Rebus, thrusters on the disk spinning him so that the Mordite blade would cleave the fragment of a Narrator in half from head to toe.

    Balitan cocked his head. “I guess he does kind of look like me.” Balitan is not the same person as Malevolence. Their souls are distinct. “And there is the fundamental difference between us. While you hesitate out of caution, I reach for greatness.” A drone about the size of a car shoved through the utility fog. Its front was a large metal blade sharpened into a point and glowing with energy, and its boosters vaporized the ground beneath it as it accelerated rapidly towards Rebus’s back. “You are not willing to take the necessary risks to accomplish your goals. That is why I will defeat you in the end!”
