    Subversion caught the wheel of time and set it back to 2282.

    But Butt didn't celebrate for long, because he realized that this had killed his sister. So he reversed the reversing, bringing everything back to the current plot.

    Subversion summoned a black hole that absorbed all the randomness, then threw it at Rym.

    "Ready when you guys are." Nameless rifled through his pack, pulling a bronze knife from it.

    Subversion blocks the blow as if she had eyes in the back of her head, sparks flying as Narrationblade meets Mordite. The two halves of Subversion both regenerate, and they whirl to engage both Rym and Platypus. A third copy appears in front of the Drigger.

    Unintelligible winced, wound slowly healing. Painfully, he turned his head towards Rym. "They're going to need your help if we're going to kill her” @Ookla the Perpetual The real Subversion crashes down from the sky and into Platypus, Narrationblade red hot from the speed of her descent.

    Subversion leaps backwards, abandoning the clash with Vengeance. "All right, let's see how you can handle this" She disappears, and suddenly there are a hundred different Subversions standing all around the vengeance party. As one, they raise Blades and attack.

    "All music, so far as I know. It can break their hypnotism, put them to sleep. Doesn't work too well when they get angry, but until then it's a valuable tool."

    Subversion bursts from the wreckage, waves of Narration energy warping the world around her. "Is that all you've got? I thought an experienced Narrator like yourself would be harder to kill!" With that, she launches herself forward, Narrationblade shining brightly as she aims for Wizard's throat.

    Then it turns purple.

    The attempt fails, because Key's guts get blood all over the text.

    Subversion releases Platypus as she is hit by the fire, which blasts her into the cottage in an explosion of shattered wood and splintered stones.

    Subversion brushes Vengeance aside with one hand, ramming a dagger into Platypus' arm with the other.

    Subversion glows with power, and Wizard's tail explodes. Bursting out of the smoke from the blast, Subversion launches herself into @Ookla the platypus.

    Subversion scowls. "Well, that'll certainly make your deaths a bit less fun." A million needles appear around Wizard, stabbing into him.

    "Oh dear, looks like the time for talking is over." Subversion dodges to the side, slashing the tiger with her Narrationblade. "Don't say I didn't warn you when this ends in a way you dislike." The ground beneath Platypus rumbles, and a massive scorpion bursts out in front of him.

    Unintelligible groaned in pain, pulling a dagger from his chest. "It was-urgh-poisoned." He coughed weakly, red smoke rising from the wound. "It'll take me a while to heal from this." Across from the vengeance group, Subversion's face split into a wicked grin. "Those breadmunks did their job well enough. Unintelligible is incapacitated. A pity the rest of you don't have such an exploitable weakness, but that just means your deaths will be a bit slower than his."

    I lick my lips, staring at the sandwich and preparing to take a bite.

    "Because the Finn are weak to music."

    I fish the sandwich out of all the pulp and run off to find a safe place to eat it.

    "Sure, sure. I believe you."

    I sigh, instead pulling out a gigantic warhammer and smashing whoever is currently holding the sandwich.

    Subversion chuckles, not advancing on the group. "Please. You think those breadmunks were all I've got?" Unintelligible's sword dissolved again, and he collapsed to the ground unconscious. Behind Platypus, a low growling shook the cave.
