Nameless let out an exasperated sigh. Of course he'd say that.
"I don't think that's a good idea. In all likelihood, Malum will just take him over again, and say even more terrible things to you. I don't want him just messing with all of our heads like that."
"Look. Every time he's taken control, we've been able to tell. If he was controlling TAAron that whole time, you think he'd just tell us? He would use that to his own advantage, stab us when our backs were turned. You agree, right Lerac?"
"I suppose not. As long as he isn't too insulting." Nameless ignored the rope, using weaves of air to restrain TAAron's arms. "I can tie them off so that even if I am knocked unconscious, the weaves remain in place."
"I mean, we could just talk to the evil god intent on killing us all and leave him fully able to move for the entirety of our trip through this potentially extremely hazardous tower, but that wouldn't be great. So unless you have some way to banish Malum's influence, I can't think of any better options."
So were a lot of people on the list, actually. Maybe the whole "Narrators are all terrible people" thing is getting to be a little last-gen. Bookwyrm seems to be rather nice, honestly. And Sequence has never done anything wrong.
Aside from that one time, but it wasn't entirely her fault.
And realized that life was truly meaningless without anything objective to base it off of.
Such as physics, for example. Narrators kept coming around and ruining generations of scientific discovery on a whim. I mean honestly. Do they really need to change the speed of light, strong force, and the weak force just because they want their 'totally awesome solar system' to work properly?
Nameless sighed, coming to a halt and leaning against the wall next to him. "You're right. We probably should stop for a while. It's about lunchtime, isn't it? And also Malum, could you chill and leave us alone? We're kinda busy here."
"Well, we could find some kind of room where they can ambush us. I don't remember any traps in the book, just confusing maze stuff. You know, I really should brush up on the book. Been too long since I read it."
