  1. The second was not there, on account of being unable to find the necromancer’s lair. The necromancer waved a hand, and a portal appeared. “That will take you back to your friends. Sleeper, Xiylna, I would appreciate you bringing a message back to the Akladin. If he really does believe I am real, tell him that his protections are weakening. Soon, I will no longer be restricted to his nightmares.” @TheRavenHasLanded@Edema Rue
  2. I’ve figured that the Cosmere was huge ever since Tress. This is just confirmation that there’s a ton of non-Shard worlds.
  3. "I wouldn't say that. Xiylna, do you want to go back to the rest of your friends now?"
  4. "Only half the time? That's quite the miracle. What happened to his shovel?"
  5. "Fine." The necromancer dismisses his sword. "Tell me, does he still think I'm just a nightmare?"
  6. The necromancer summons a blade made of shadows. "Your compassion will be your undoing."
  7. "Don't worry. I won't try to force your old memories upon you." The necromancer shrugged. "Don't tell anyone I did this, although I doubt you'll remember for long. You just remind me of someone, that's all." As Sleeper enters the room, the necromancer's eyes become shadowed, and an aura of crackling energy surrounds him. "And now Xiylna, I will destroy-" He gasped, turning towards Sleeper. "YOU again? How dare you come here to interrupt my plans. Do you really think you can stop me?"
  8. "Yes, you have friends. I think one of them is trying to come save you. Can you remember who you are now?"
  9. The necromancer taps a few runes, then summons a gently glowing ball of violet energy and sends it flying towards Xiylna. "There. Does that help?" A rune on the table starts flashing, and he frowns at it. "Someone is... trying to travel here? This should be interesting."
  10. Sleeper's search continues to be fruitless. "Yes, I suspect that is what happened." The table in front of the necromancer shoots out a ray of light that passes over Xiylna, the spits out a new string of runes that the necromancer examines closely. "Interesting. This will be difficult to resolve."
  11. Sleeper's portal opens to nowhere, as the travelling magic that took Xiylna is well-cloaked. The necromancer turned his full attention to Xiylna. "What happened to put you in this state, I wonder? Did one of your 'friends' do something particularly terrible?"
  12. Subversion ignored the poking. "Don't worry. I don't plan to kill Platypus in our duel. Or myself. Who's the third being?"
  13. To Sleeper's eyes it appeared that Xiylna vanished into thin air. Unseen to him, the ring disappeared as soon as Xiylna was through it. Xiylna appeared in a dark room. The necromancer was standing off to the side, by a table that was projecting long strings of magical runes. "Thank you for coming Xiylna. Do you remember me, or have you forgotten already?"
  14. Subversion smiled at Hacob. "Hi Hacob. Nice to see a character of mine doing so well. Do you want me to kill everyone close to you in the most agonizing way possible?"
  15. Subversion smirked back. "Believe what you want. I'll beat you regardless."
  16. Yes, that's it. Just go through the ring. As Xiylna approached the ring, the voice grew stronger. Perfect. Keep going.
  17. I need you to come over here. A faint ring of sparks appeared in the air, visible only to Xiylna. Go through there, and we can talk further.
  18. "What are you going to do, create me to death? Ordered light beings can be effective against Withergeists and other similar creatures, but fighting a Narrator? We didn't even exist until they fell. In fact, they fell mostly because one of them was trying to become a Narrator. Although he didn't really know it at the time."
  19. As the others squabble, Xiylna hears a voice that cuts through whatever haze she's in and tugs at her soul. Can you hear me? @Edema Rue
  20. "Well you won't be there to decide where it goes. Unless you pull a Thaidakar." Subversion smiled "I have a secret weapon. And no, it's not that sphere. Still haven't found that. Not that I need the sphere or my other secret weapon; the only edge you have over me is Vengeance. Ordered light beings, if that is indeed what you've become, are much more limited than Narrators."
  21. Subversion got back from her visit to the Dreamsmith looking contemplative. "All right Platypus, I agree. We can give the Dreamsmith the Once-Author's belongings after he dies again. In fact, I think I'll even give him that Mordite blade once I win it off of you." @Being of Cacophony
  22. "Interesting. In that case, I think I will pay the Dreamsmith a visit. I'll tell you whether or not I trust him later."
  23. "Oh, Omen, I know-wait Omen? What's he got to do with it?"
  24. "It hasn't been attacked by Thaidakar yet." Subversion shrugged. "So where is this Dreamsmith guy? I should probably meet him before I make hasty judgements."
  25. "I think I've heard the name before. He made the Authorblade? Shoddy work, if you ask me. It's barely even real."
