With inquisitor steelsight you don't need to be able to push on those metals to see them.
-
No. I have pointed out dozens of things that they just do not have the power to do. Brandon has said that they are not omnipotent. What more will it take! The intent doesn't limit investiture, because intent can be stripped from it. But investiture still cannot do everything. Shards don't even have infinite investiture at once, it just renews. Otherwise Ruin wouldn't have been so eager to collect the Atium.
-
That depends on how you count the SR, as there isn't any space there, so it is everywhere, and nowhere. But at the same time there are places where Shards aren't, inside Aethers and Dawnshards and whatnot. So, maybe.

Starspren form the plate for Skybreakers
Frustration replied to Frustration's topic in Stormlight Archive
No it isn't. Now, I can see them as a viable option now, but we have starspren, who are pinpricks of light that fly in the night sky, basically the perfect definition of a comet. I find them more likely. -
That doesn't work, at all. You cannot have all power, and still lack power. This is entering Theological discussion here, so this is where we really need to be careful. So, while God is omnipotent, he is also perfect. Everything listed are not things he is incapable of doing for lack of power, but because he will not allow himself to do them. This is notably different from Shards who cannot do things because they do not have the power to do them.

Starspren form the plate for Skybreakers
Frustration replied to Frustration's topic in Stormlight Archive
Oathbringer hadn't been published when the WoB was given. -
That's, not what the thread is discussing.

Well, if I recall correctly they have some unboned humans with them, along with some Honorspren seeking a bond. So they could get flown back.

Starspren form the plate for Skybreakers
Frustration replied to Frustration's topic in Stormlight Archive
I don't recall Eshonai ever describing Timbre as a comet, more like reflected light. I think that Brandon was talking about the spren that appear as bright lights that move across the sky, like actual comets. Starspren aren't that immense, or overly rare. We see them several times throughout the books. -
Astronomy jokes? They probably won't take off.
-
So I've seen a few proposed spren for Skybreakers, generally being Luckspren, or gravitationspren. I propose however, that Skybreaker plate is made from starspren. First off consider Highspren, they look like tears in reality, behind which one can see the stars. Starspren also appear as bright lights in the sky, much like how a passing Skybreaker would Additionally Ladies and Gentlemen of the jury, I rest my case.

That is litterally what Omnipotent means Omni means all, Potent means power. Which means that if any power exists an omnipotent being possesses it. But no matter how much you have you cannot go back in time Lifeless are not the same person, they are artifical souls We do know that they eiter do not exist or cannot be accessed Did you misunderstand me or are you intentionally being disengenuous? Maya's reveal in RoW that the spren chose the recreance was not at all what the Stormfather was refering to God is omnipotent And stop double posting, it's against the rules.
-
Please show me where in this WoB the word "spren" is? Or where it says "Adonalsium, Shards, and Aethers are excluded" The Stormfather says that the reason was that Humans found out they weren't native to Roshar, not that that was wrong. You cannot go back in time, restore someone from the dead once they pass into the beyond, enter alternate dimentions, etc. That's not omnipotence. Omnipotence litterally means "All power" if your power cannot do something, you are not omnipotent. Omniscience means "All knowing" so unless you know everything, you are not omniscient. And no, none of the Shards are anywhere near Abrahamic God like. He specifically says that they aren't.

I would only have access to electrons, and I still don't see how that process get's you hydorgen atoms, though it's possible I've missed somehing I've realized that

Who LOVES The Legend of Zelda!
Frustration replied to Ironwill2112's topic in Entertainment Discussion
That makes more sense. -
Yeah, but it doen't specify cognitive entities does it? It says there are entities on all three realms that are only shadowed in the other two. It never says that only cognitive entities are bound by this rule I have, more recently than you it seems as they never say that they are wrong about the recreance, indeed the Stormfather himself was wrong about it. So if I have a generator that provided infinate free electricity I become omnipotent? No, because there are thinga that that power cannot do. I cannot make matter with it, I cannot bring people back from the dead, I cannot reverse time, create gravity and millions of other things. The same thing applies to investiture, while shards may renew as time goes on, there are things they just can not do. Lifeless take the breath, and use that, the person who holds the Dawnshard can use it as much as they like without having to reclaim it.
-
It never mentioned spren. When? That is every WoB with the word Omnipotent in them(excepting one which is in reference to general character power level) so there is no WoB that says that. And RoW never says that they are omnipotent. Just "essentially infinite" meaning they don't run out. And that last WoB was given after RoW was written. Where? You don't need to collect the Dawnshards after each use. @bmcclure7 stop double posting I have address it multiple times. Harmony only said "essentially infinite" not that they were. It isn't unlimited, it just replenishes.
-
Harmony is vastly more powerful than Odium. Therefore Adonalsium is more powerful than Shards
-
Anything that exists on one realm exists on all three Therefore they have to exist in the natural universe, there isn't an option. No they don't, where did you get that idea? Is it really that outlandish to assume characters are wrong? RoW showed that everyone was wrong about the recreance. And on denial you're the one ignoring that Brandon has repeatedly said shards aren't omnipotent That would make Dawnshards one time use, which is not the case.
-
But they are bound to the natural universe It very much is up to debate. Nikli is not omniscient, and thus can be wrong. The only thing not up for debate is that Nikli THINKS that Adonalsium made the Dawnshards. What?
-
They say they Predate Adonalsium, kind of hard to exist when there isn't a universe to exist in. So far there is zero evidence that Adonalsium ever created or even used the Dawnshard. And if he did why did he give people who hated him the ability to kill him?
-
Oh, do we now? The Aethers are some of the oldest beings in the Cosmere, and they say otherwise. They might even predate Hoid, so their word shouldn't be thrown aside. Nikli said the Dawnshards were used, but Adonalsium clearly didn't have them, otherwise he couldn't have been shattered. I don't think anyone else has even given a definitive statement
