He's the only one out there when he does a Plateau run, no one can call him out for that. And technically he didn't betray Dalinar, Sadeas abandoned him. If it had been a betrayal, full on fighting Dallinar he would have had some pushback. What on earth makes you think that killing Parshendi is his worry not the general war? His attempts at a peace talk are very clear examples of his intents. If you want to vilify the one party you have to acknowledge the wrongs of the other. Neither side is entirely wrong, and neither is without fault. I've mostly ignored your attempts at condemning an entire species for the crimes of a few, but I'll try something else. The ultimate perpetrators behind the crimes you so despise are not Ashynite, but Yolish. Ashyn was destroyed because of the meddling of two of the Yolish. The humans moved to Roshar at the bidding of the Yolish vessels. The desolations occurred because of the Yolish Shards. BAM was imprisoned in a power play of those same Yolish acters. Spren are used in fabrials because the Yolish taught the humans how to do it. The Ashynites you so hate, are the victims of their Yolish overlords. That's called siege warfare. Up until you invent high grade explosives that's really what you have to do. No they aren't more efficient. The Alethi with their method can feed hundreds of thousands, the Listeners don't even have that many. The Parshendi are ever bit as guilty of the chasmfiend hunting as the humans are. I still have yet to see the evidence for even attempted genocide.

Terminal velocity for a human with a human weight, not weighing over 2,000 pounds, while human size. Even assuming that the Windrunner by themselves weighed 200 pounds that's still a density increase by a factor of ten. Not to mention that Shardplate can adjust to become more aerodynamic, and they can adjust atmospheric pressure on top of that. Windrunners are just objectively better than any aircraft ever invented. How many individuals own nukes? Not countries individuals. F35's are possibly the best all around fighter jet, so I used them to point out the futility of challenging Windrunner air superiority
-
Well you answered your own question there I wouldn't say kill then all so much as possibly conquer them. Yes there are no clear objectives but that's because it was emotionally not logically driven. Sadeas specifically not all Alethi but yes. It was a complaint that the highprinces are more focused on wealth than war. By that standard the Parshendi committed war crimes against Alethkar first.

One of the mistborn he killed was open about the fact that he was a mistborn, and he very much practiced. I really don't see that. There doesn't appear to be any real difference between the eras and how they use steelpushing. In Era 1 they had spikeways, and there were so many allomancers flying through the city that there were Skaa who made a living following them around and picking up their coins. I wouldn't say higher skill so much as he was willing to take higher risks.

That is true, and I'm still going back and forth on how much I think duralumin adds. My only two data points are Vin attacking Cett's fortress, which was close to 200 but she was also able to fight them in smaller groups. And Not-Wax but he wasn't a full mistborn, and he was closer to 50-80, but he didn't even fight them directly much. I'm leaning at closer to around 100, but I'm still too hesitant on that one to make a call. I mean I don't consider Atium to be a part of the standard toolkit for Mistborn, and think of it more like Raysium weapons for Fused, but yeah it changes a lot. Well he did kill at the very least two other mistborn and an Inquisitor. I think his experience is more than enough. He did a pretty good approximation with the ingot that he had, and the Hazekillers took that in stride.

Genocide implies they were trying to wipe them all out. Extermination campaign implies that that the Alethi were trying exterminate the Singers. Neither has been demonstrated in the text. The Alethi's stated goals were: 1. Vengeance for their dead King. 2. Gemhearts. Neither of these have to do with genocide or Extermination. As @Immortal Platypus said what they did do was a war. And Dalinar's peace talks are proof of this. When pursuing genocide or extermination you don't sit down with the ones you wanted to kill and discuss an end to hostilities, but you do in a war. How? By knowing that Gavilar had scared the Parshendi in a secret conversation between only Gavilar and Eshonai? What could he actually have done differently in that situation?
-
Where are you getting the idea that the end goal was the extinction of the Listener people? That was never the Alethi's stated purpose. I'm really not understanding your point here. No one is omniscient, and really only Navani seems to show any idea that Gavilar isn't the person he appears to be, so it's not like he should have known that. Only the Sons of Honor and Eshonai knew he wanted to return the desolations, but Elhokar was neither of those. You're judging him for acting without information there was no possible way for him to obtain. He wasn't even aware such information existed. Is Archduke Frans Ferdenan's driver responsible for WW1 because he drove the car right in front of the assassins? I don't see any way you could possibly argue that he was. Yes. And what does that have to do with Gavilar?

That's why there's a disclaimer in the OP. Um no, not even close. A Windrunner would run circles around even an F35, I ran the calculations and Kaladin can get to the moons of Roshar in 20 minutes on a single lashing, not to mention they can casually move in any direction they so please, leave the atmosphere, and so much more. Perfect example of the: "Look what they need just to mimic a fraction of our power" I still see nothing wrong with going by the same technology level as seen in the books at the time the powers are in use. It wouldn't be fair for Wax to fight final empire era Hazekillers as they have never seen guns before, and it would be unfair for Adolin to fight era 2 Hazekillers, or any Scadrian hazekillers for the same reason. I believe the technological developments will aid both sides more or less equally, and don't think it would weigh too heavily on the scales.
-
I can see the consequences of Elhokar's actuons being negative, but I do not see how Elhokar was supposed to know about this. Yes but how does that make Elhokar's actions bad? He didn't know this he basically worshiped Gavilar. Um what? Jasnah's illness had nothing to do Gavilar or his parenting, she was sick.
-
Nothing in the text implies they wanted Genocide. At the Funeral all Elhokar says is vengeance, and by WoK they only really wanted Gemhearts. As for basic Intel what more did they need? They had already visited the Shattered plains, the Singers had received their weapons from the Alethi, and they had openly confessed to being the ones behind the assassination.

He crushed focused ones gemhearts inside their bodies with his bare hands. He didn't have his Honorblade or stormlight, and before he died he had so many weapons stuck inside of him his body was held upright, and the entire army was just... deleted. Well I'm not trying to simulate a war or battle. I'm trying to create a ranking system of sorts so that various power levels can be compared using Hazekillers as a unit of measurement.
-
Aluminum bullets solve those problems Except Radiants if they are a windrunner, their plate would save them. Yeah but he can't hurt you either
-
Well no one is scary if you just teleport behind them and shoot them. Assuming factors of terrain are as equal as we can, open fields and stadium type events, more pre-modern we meet at X location at X time for battle. For technology I'd assume the fighters to be from the same world and use the technology from the books.

I do to definitely my bread and butter here. It is a lot, but without magic or anti-tank measures I don't see how they die before you run them out of stormlight and then to the point they collapse exhausted and you can beat them without them moving, and you have to do all of that without them retreating. With the offensive power they have with plate and blade, not to mention surges like division or transformation, I just don't see how you do that with less. I would place Heralds as far beyond anything else we've seen. I'm working on another theory about their powers that I might post here in a bit. That is true I do need to remember duralumin. Probably should be closer to Not-Wax going for some fifty-ish constables at once. I haven't read the omnibus but I don't remember armor in the GN. Kenton being weak is true. He only had the three ribbons during the story. The mastrells had what twenty? If you can get a lot of breath I'd assume you also have the money for some bodies That's true but you can also pre-prepare Aons so I imagine they have shields inscribed on their clothes and AonDaa on a weapon of some kind Edit: @Cosmer With Vin at Cett's palace I think it's important to remember that they don't have a lot of training they are more day guards and probably have never seen combat in their lives.
-
So I've thought about this one off and on for years. The basic idea is to take the number of uninvested individuals that it would take to defeat any particular manifestation of the invested arts and use it as a basis for a comparison of various cosmere combat capabilities. Now a disclaimer: I recognize that this is not a perfect system, but I still think it would be beneficial to take a look at. I'd take a passing look and say that this is probably pretty close but I recognize I probably missed quite a bit in here and I'm more than open for your thoughts

The dwarf lords held their rings while Sauron was using the One Ring to try and control them. While the Elves immediately removed their rings the moment that the one ring was forged, which saved them, the dwarves and men where still bearing theirs. Compare the reactions of the dwarves to that of the Nazgul. The men became puppets to Sauron's will, and the elves would have suffered the same fate. The dwarves? They didn't care. Between the birthday party where Frodo gets the ring and when he leaves the Shire 22 years pass. He's 33 at the birthday party and 55 when he leaves.

Well it depends on how you worded and see the oath I suppose. I would argue that Lifts wording: "I will remember those who have been ignored" would let her heal high level people like Dalinar or Fen and forget them no problem because everyone remembers them. Healing the forgotten and downtrodden might be a bit harder. Also: TSM spoilers

Another exceptionally well put together analysis and theory my friend, absolutely stellar. I completely overlooked the possibility of Sazed better fitting Autonomy than Bavadin, that actually might explain why she's going after him instead of some of the other shards.
