  1. So are people not allowed to talk about things in the book that disappoint them? Well it's too late now, obviously, but that doesn't mean that it was a good idea to make it a name that would throw people out of the book. You do come off as slightly abrasive, yeah. I know what that's like though, don't worry. I would say that naming someone December, in a world that does not have December as a month does come pretty close to breaking the fourth wall. You might not. There really isn't a fine line. Yes, but if the king is named Tonald Drump, I think you'd find that off putting. Some people just have different standards and tastes.
  2. I've got an entire group I call: Interesting tid-bits. 120 WoBs in that one that I need to go back through and evaluate with more time. And for the record I highly recommend. It might take you 2 weeks, but you learn so much. I think I made like nine threads just off of WoBs I found. History does tend to repeat itself
  3. Okay, I take it back. People who like anime are scary. Fair enough Don't worry I got you. 17th sharders find theorists scarier than mods, I'll start working on some theories and you'll be off the hook. Polling data Or, actually looks like the mods pulled ahead, dang it. Can you guys stop being scary? Guess I'll just flex that I read the entire Arcanum and see if others find that level of hyper fixated nerdom to be intimidating or not.
  4. Well, less active. He's still here, but he seems less active than he was. At least to me. We could, though I think I knew #1 Taln fan too much before he became a mod to be intimidated. People fear that which they do not comprehend, and has the ability to threaten them. Though I think that if you changed the dark blue to a lighter color that would help a lot. Maybe to a lighter blue, or maybe pink. It's hard to be scared of something pink.
  5. That seems like it should work, yes.
  6. No. 1. This place has never been visited in the books 2. This place is on a major shardworld 3. This place is in the CR 4. This place is on Roshar 5. This place has some relation to interplanetary trade 6. This place is named on the Shadeasmar map
  7. Nope 1. This place has never been visited in the books 2. This place is on a major shardworld 3. This place is in the CR 4. This place is on Roshar 5. This place has some relation to interplanetary trade I'm really not sure what other clues to give without giving it away
  8. Ral Elorim is on the physical side
  9. No, but close. 1. This place has never been visited in the books 2. This place is on a major shardworld 3. This place is in the CR 4. This place is on Roshar
  10. No, you were right. He is telling them to a Cosmere audience Also here's the WoB Brandon explains the whole thing
  11. Yeah it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me either. He did say she was named after the coldest month of the year in her region of the world, but I highly doubt she will be called July in the Australian edition. As for why she's called December in text, Brandon's explanation is that even Hoid isn't calling her December, but he is "translating" it as December for our understanding. He tries to justify this by saying Tolkien did the same(i.e. in world Bilbo and Frodo's names are closer to Bilba and Froda, but Tolkien said that he "translated" them to sound more masculine in English) but for Tolkien it always flowed nicely and he never needed to explain that. None of the books need that explanation just to make sense of the main characters name. It's something I've just decided to ignore, Brandon isn't very good with names and titles. At least we don't have to deal with: "The Aether's of Lor, Aether of the Wind: Climb the Sky" as a book title, despite him trying to write that one several times.
  12. We don't know it traveled with the Stormfather, and indeed I would find it very dubious that he couldn't sense Ishar summoning it if that were the case.
  13. No to both 1. This place has never been visited in the books 2. This place is on a major shardworld 3. This place is in the CR
  14. Huh, this is a good point. Okay modified new plan. Assuming we're okay with dying as well, or we can find some way to protect ourselves while doing it(possibly with AonDor) we can instead open up an elsegate to outer space. That should get all except Nale and Kaladin to die immediately. Though That still doesn't perma kill them so they come back, dang it. Okay, scratch that idea.
  15. Fadran was a part of the whole insect-centaur thing
  16. Yeah, I feel like I missed a lot. Not to mention: Dramaqueen, Karger, Fish, so many others. Gone. Those of us who are still here from the old days, LewsTherinTelescope is still active, as are Alder24 and Nameless. But that's about it for the pre-2020 gang. Even the 2020 people are sparse. I actually almost died because I thought you didn't know who Fadran was. The thing is there are active sharers now who don't know that legend.
  17. Nope 1. This place has never been visited in the books 2. This place is from a major Shardworld
  18. 1. This place has never been visited in the books
  19. @KaladinsSenseOfHumourSpren The pool near Elantris
  20. Dang I was hoping that would take longer
  21. No to all of the above. 1. This place is in the mountains 2. This place is on a major shardworld
  22. Feruchemy is just objectively the correct answer. There are just only upsides to it.
