  1. Discussions on how to break the laws of nature are part of why I love this place
  2. True, but it's entirly possible they haven't figured it out yet, or more likely that Brandon hasn't. The difference is the fering doesn't have to expend energy to get the piston to rise, just store weight, which only requires Brain function, so the system resets itself, instead of having to use chemical energy, to pull themselves off of it. Oh, we aren't propelling it with the Highstorm, the Highstorm is just there to provide Stormlight. It's a closed system, stormlight is the incoming energy, but once used it returns to the Spiritual realm, and the Highstorm draws it back out, You keep using pulleys but can we switch that for a bike, that has a much more similar system going, it's like this on a bike I can get it so one rotation of the peddle equals five rotations of the wheel, but Conjoined Fabrials lets me make one rotation of the wheel equal one rotation of the peddle. If the structural integrety becomes a problem, we can simply add a fabrial to strengthen it, similar to a half-shard, or if absolutly neccesary, set it up on a shadblade.
  3. I was refering to Aztecs, Carthage to.
  4. You are mostly correct. There are some religons that called for human sacrafice, but that's not what you meant.
  5. MB He came up with the plans to attack Kaladin, not Odium, not the fused, him. @Jash the reason fans hate Moash more than character objectivly more eveil, is because they feel most upset by his actions, namely because they formed a deep emotional connection/attachment to kaladin and teft
  6. Put an iron ferring on top of a piston and have them store/tap as needed to make it move. Electricity is a brand new invention they haven't integrated it into society completly. Highstorms circle the world always active, just having points of less power. It's just a car with one set of wheels doing more work Only thing is, that pulling on my hair doesn't generate force at my feet, if they where connected, moving a gem five times the size of another would cause it to move the other five times the distance, which would move the first gem again, giving more force to the second. Even if pushed a little it would continue to accelerate, excess force can be syphoned off using a second set of Conjoined gems.
  7. I don't particularly like the guy, but you do realize what Nightblood is capable of right?
  8. And by refusing to even try is why you can't see it. I have felt his spirit, I know he is, and God cannot lie, Therefore he must be perfect. I know it makes no difference to you, but I know.
  9. Harmony not being able to tell doesn't tell us much, several factors are activly limiting his sight.
  10. Don't ask me I'm just the messager those are his words not mine.
  11. Is he not intended to be a stand in for God IRL? Therefore if God is perfect so must the God Beyond.
  12. ok, one thing here Can Odium make mistakes? Yes is Odium perfecct? No Can Odium die? Yes not God, not even close Adonalsium isn't God, we're talking God Beyond, anything less won't cut it.
  13. They are wierd yes, Especially the ones who think Ishar is sane.
  14. He says he wasn't sorry for killing Teft, he was just upset he felt bad about it. And here is the bit about Taravangian I was holding back in the other thread, It is HEAVILY implied that a lot of what Taravangian does is motivated by Pride, he refused to talk to Dalinar about Nightblood because of it, he refused to share credit, I think that the way he structured the Diagram, killing murders, civil war all so he could become King of the world, wasn't the best way forward, just one that appealed to him the most.
  15. Seven thousand years of life, and three thoushand years of torture will do that to you.
  16. And yet "the men of Red and Gold" are related to Trell and increadibly important, Odium has plans to deal with Harmony, and so on give ample evidence to support Odium.
  17. unconfirmed
  18. That assumes that it needed the High storms Stormlight, And ignores the fact that the shield lasted more than a week after the gem that could be infused by the high storm was broken. Perpetual motion is already available with feruchemy. And why would it not work, it needs Stormlight, but inside a highstorm it is continuously renewed. And making opposite fabrials go down isn't something aluminum can do, it would just let you move one horizontally without moving the other. The shield pushes foreign objects out, we see that when it starts up.
  19. You are trying to argue a hypothetical, it's like saying well, if we found something that was faster than light but had mass it would prove science is false. Which fun thought exsperiment it might be isn't the point. God teaches us one concept at a time, if something new comes up it's because it wasn't important enough for us before, you don't worry about teaching a child to drive a car, when it still can't walk.
  20. Is that what Malazan is? a TTRPG that he made into a book?
  21. Well put a hollow sphere, around a guy in shardplate, let him get reallly close without risking his armor, then turn the sheild off to fight.
  22. Using different sizes of gems in a conjoined fabrial attached to each other and it should work. Only the outside is solid, we could see that when they cut away the edge, if re-sealed, but was not solid all the way through
  23. Actually my religion is gaining members right now. But that's besides the point, what I was saying is that, if say, Odin was real don't you think he would have saved the people worshiping him? Or done something to retain influence? You are argueing on the tenets of my religion without even knowing them. Someone who died without knowing Gods will, who if they had known it would have followed it is still saved. In fact my religion has one of if not the most open views of Heaven, everyone gets at least some degree of glory, a Heaven you could say, but how much is determined by how you live. Exceept the people who know God and refuse to accept salvation. And yet mine holds God populated worlds without number. To make that claim you would have to find a scentient species other than us who had different moral values first.
  24. Using it in conjunction with perpetual motion machines, on a fourth bridge-esque vehicle was a lot of what I was thinking.
  25. Perhaps the fact that they died out would prove that they aren't true. Where as other religions are still going strong. Additionally you should note that their "gods" where imperfect, they made mistakes, they could die, they where for all intents and purposes, more powerful humans. So someone living in isolation can't be moral because morality only exists in a culture? And why is that impossible?
