Discuss the Stormlight 5 Prologue Here
Frustration replied to LewsTherinTelescope's topic in Cosmere Discussion
People keep saying he's different but I must be missing something here. Other than lying how does the Stormfather behave differently? -
Looks good, I do have to ask about volt-switch though that seems a bit weird to me. U-turn works though. Grass/steel works as a pretty good defencive typing, minus it 4x fire weakness, though rain support would largely mitigate that. I like it. Just because of how difficult it would be to K.O. ? Lol, yes. I'm thinking about having Grass types recover 5% Hp a turn under rain and sun. I'd give Zamazenta Recover I'd also like to upgrade some moves in exchange for removing the Primal Creation trio. Spactial Rend - If a terrain or trick room is up Spactial rend will deal 20% more damage and remove the terrain and trick room Roar of Time - If trick room or a weather condition is active Roar of Time will deal 20% more damage and remove trick room and the weather Shadow Force - If any of a terrain, a weather, or trick room are active Shadow force will deal 20% more damage and remove the terrain/tirck room/weather.

I have not. Yeah that's true. So if you got offered the ability to make a mega-evolution for Meganium how would you do it? Also I've been thinking about your point Dynamax is overpowered and I think I've found a way to fix it. All Max moves and G-Max moves would be changed to Z-moves, making them one time use by any mon's while Dynamax instead only doubles the HP stat of the user, while keeping it's turn limit. While Gigantimax will be premenant.

Could have influenced Gavilar not the visions -
That is theoretically possible, but given that compounding would be easier I'm going to say it will at the verry least take much longer. Given that Renarin jumps from at least two/three stories up and lands on his head completly fine I have to say it's him being more worried about being injured and stuck at the bottom. Dalinar fell probably a close distance in the rift but he lived. Let's take your example of a dresser. If someone else placed their hands on the dresser and their feet on the ceiling and exeted themselves to push down would you be able to pick it up from the sides? No, because they have better leverage than you do. In order for Dalinar to lift the Chasmfiend he had to be underneath otherwise the Chamsfiend would push past his grip because it had the more advantageous position. Dalinar wasn't bonded to the Stormfather yet. People in plate don't know how to use it, the last clap shouldn't be possible but sharbearers are so used to their shards doing all the work for them that they don't bother to actually put in the effort to use them correctly. I garuntee you that if other shardbearers applied themselves they could do the same thing. While true they are nowhere near as strong as a Chasmfiend they are probably on par with shardplate.

Could you please explain that? In the last clap you aren't touching the edge, only the flat. There is doubt because not only did he catch it, he held it, and then lifted it up. Even once he was brought to his knees he continued to hold it, which mean he would have survived. Sadeas was beat upon by multiple warform parshendi for several minutes and when Dalinar managed to rescue him his armor was still intact, crakced in a few places sure, but none of it was broken. You can store A-Pewter Even counting for Dalinar going down to his knees he continuted to hold the chasmfiend, so he did take all of it's weight, or at least most of it. That wouldn't work as Dalinar was able to force the chasmfiend up, which he wouldn't be able to do if he wasn't beneath it.

How is a direct strike to the head provide more force than a direct strike to the hand?

That has been answered -
Given that an African brush elephant weighs approxiamtly 13,000 pounds and is 13 feet tall 16 feet long and 6.5 feet wide. And that a Chasmfiend is 20 feet wide 60 feet tall and 120 long(note these are from Rosharan measurements so it's probably even bigger) a Chasmfiend would weigh about 1,440,000 pounds. Now given its spren bond and Roshar's low gravity I'll cut that weight down but you'll see why it won't matter in just a second. Now, a high end estimate for the force needed to break a skull is 1,200 pounds now Vin liquidated the guys head so let's give her ten times that amount at 12,000 pounds. Even if the Chasmfiends bond along with Roshar's gravity cut it's weight down by 99% Dalinar holding the Chasmfiend up requires more force than Vin used breaking the guys head.

How do you propose that Dalinar made his armor stronger? Only a few they weren't all pushing on it. However that was not my point. My point was there is an upper limit, that can be reached. Even with nicrosil that's only a temporary boost.

Jezrien is drink almost all the time, and when he isn't he's babbling about being tortured. Ashyn magic is powered by diseases, which are not on Roshar right now. Actually it's just how spren bonds work, once one person is bonded it becomes easier to bond people close to them. -
I've done the calculations, and even without healing Dalinar holding up the chasmfiend in WoK required orders of magnitude more force than Vin smashing the dude's head in WoA. Also a few things to point out. Even with compounding feruchemy is not limitless there is an upper limit that will be reached, and by tapping feruchemical pewter you are increasing your size and making it harder for you to run and move as you get to the upper limits. Fullborn are not inherently stronger with allomancy.

Because Dalinar's body is still near Nergaoul, and is thus able to be influenced. If Ishar were there sure he could manipulate the visions, but he wasn't. -

Fear is too temporary. Too fleating. It cannot dominate the mind and weigh upon the heart. Not like I can. I am the tension that underlays all interaction, I am the reaction to all action. I am Frustration, and I remain.
