Evelyn smiled as Nym started to read, and selected a book of her own from the bookshelf.

"I would be honored to aid in your endeavor, my lady! Ti's a noble quest indeed. But maybe we should ask people if we have the movies before beginning the hunt for a portal to Middle Earth." Evelyn grinned back at Nym, happy to have someone to talk to. Besides herself or books of course.

"The best planning I never knew I was doing. I wonder if they have all of the movies?"

Evelyn glanced at the aon that still glowed in the center of her room. "Yeah, well, I think that I might be able to work around that problem. Which is clearly why I invented this, so that I could watch the Lord of the Rings. So you see, I've actually been preparing for this for quite some time!"

"Thanks! And yeah, that would be awesome! I keep on meaning to watch them, I really do."

"No, that's fine. I'm not that hungry. I'm glad you like it though! Especially since I was the cook." She smiled. "Hopefully that means other people will like it, too. "I can't really offer an opinion on the movies vs. the books, since I've never actually watched the movies. I've listened to some of the music from it though, and it's awesome!"

"Yep! Tolkien's pretty great. Most of the books I scavenged from around the house, but these ones I actually brought with me." Evelyn's voiced had taken on a fond tone, and she walked over to look at the books. "Have you read them before?"

"Yeah, there's one other Windrunner. His name's Draug, though I don't know where he's at right now. I'm pretty sure we have at least one radiant from all the different orders."

"Truthwatcher and Dustbringer, respectively. And yeah, they're both really nice."

"Hi, Lopen." She waved at the suddenly visible spren. "A benana is a Ben and a Shana put together. Ben was the person who waved at you in the hall, and I don't think you've seen Shana yet."

Evelyn paused for a moment, trying to figure our how Nym's last sentence fit into the conversation, and then realized that Nym's spren, Lopen, must have just arrived. "You know," she said, "you might think that I would get used to people talking to their spren, but haven't yet. I keep on walking past people as they're talking to their spren, and trying to figure out why they're having conversations with themselves about benanas."

"Don't worry. As long as a book has dragons, then you should be good."

"Good. If you'd said something like romance novels then I would have had to dis-friend you," she joked. "Anyways, I think I have a couple of good fiction books in here, but it might be a good idea to go on a book raid before people start arriving for the party."

"Oh, cool! There are certainly lots of spren for him to meet around here. What types of books do you like to read?"

"Yes!" Evelyn crowed, pumping her fist in the air. "Thank you so much! This is going to be awesome." A thought occurred to her, and she asked, "Who's Lopen?"

"Wow," Evelyn breathed. "That's awesome! Do you think you could teach me to fence? I've always thought it was really cool." @Aragorn

"Thanks. Who was I before the Shaod? I was Evelyn Reed, daughter of Kathryn and Solomon Reed. I liked cooking, reading, and even tried my hand at some really awful fan fiction. I was an only child, though I always thought it would be cool to have a little sister. I use the Aons to look the same way now as I did back then, and . . . and yeah. A lot's changed since then." She gave Nym a sort of half-smile. "No, I don't mind. How about you? Where are you from?"

"Yeah, I'm not a radiant. I'm something called an Elantrian instead. I still have investiture or magic, but it's different than the radiant's investiture in a couple of ways. Like . . . You know, it might be a bit easier to just show you." Evelyn took another look at one of her sketches, then stabbed the air with her finger and began to draw the shape. Light poured out from behind her finger, creating a glowing shape in the air. "I got chosen by the Shaod," she explained as she drew. "It gave me access to the Dor - the glowing stuff - and made me an Elantrian. That comes with a few extra things, like increased strength and speed, silver skin, and the ability to do this." She finished her Aon with a flourish. It flashed brightly before being reduced to a dimmer, steady glow. It also made all feelings of sleepiness vanish. @Aragorn

"Right over there." She gestured to one of the aluminum wrapped plates. "I brought lots." Evelyn couldn't help but smile back at Nym.

Evelyn was looking at the Aon sketches she'd done, and wondering if she should try to start working on her project some more when she heard the knock at her door. "Come in!"

She grabbed the two plates of food, as well as a couple of water bottles, and headed up the stairs. "It's right over here," she said, gesturing to a door on the left side of the hall, "And this one over here is my room. It's where I'm going to be hiding this food, so if you want any of it, or a place to hang out during the party, then feel free to come on in. Is there anything else you might need?"

"Probably a good plan before heading to a wedding." Evelyn finished piling another two plates with food, and wrapped them quickly with some aluminum foil to keep the food warm. "I can show you where it is, if you want."

"Days? Wow. Then I guess it's good that we have some ready," Evelyn said, following Nym into the kitchen and gesturing at the plates of tacos, the rice dishes, salsa, and black bean salad. "Help yourself. We should have plenty." What else had Nym said? That was right, she'd asked about the wedding. "And yeah, wedding. Two radiants are getting married, and they asked Shana if she could do the party. It was kind of last minute, since we only found out today, but yeah. Wedding. The two radiants, Ax and Jace, are pretty nice, so you probably don't need to worry about it if you want to join the party. Or you can hide in a room upstairs like I was planning to do."

"Not too much. Mostly school and training with our investiture types, fighting the occasional voidbringer who tries to kidnap our friends." Oh yeah, and then there was the wedding today. She should probably tell Nym about that. "Though today we're kind of having a wedding celebration here. So we have food, if you want any."
