It has been confirmed that when an allomancer tries to burn a feruchemical metalmind that they themselves stored, they can sense a new power. This new well of power can be tapped without burning the actual metal itself, thereby creating a HUGE increase in power. Let’s say someone was a full Mistborn and a full Feruchemist. What is they stored some Investiture in a Nicrosil metalmind, they tapped the power with Allomancy. While getting the already boosted power, if they burned duralumin, would it affect the Allomantically tapped metalmind, thereby giving them enough Investiture to become a Sliver?

Inherent feruchemical power can’t be taught, but creating an unkeyed metal mind that can be tapped by anyone is possible.

Let’s say Wayne puts up a speed bubble. Generally if a bullet is shot out of the bubble it’s directional velocity will get changed. If Wayne were to have an aluminum bullet, would he be able to aim and shoot accurately without the bullet getting distorted? There is a quote from Brandon saying if there were an aluminum tube were at the edge of a bubble, then the bubble would collapse. My hypothesis for the bullet situation is that he could aim and shoot accurately, and as soon as the bullet hits the edge of the bubble, it would collapse. The bullet would be unaffected and stay on track to hit its target.

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...

When your brother finally starts reading Brandon’s Cosmere books. He asks one clarifying question about Allomancy. 29 hours later you are still telling him the intimate details of Intent, Connection, and Investiture, along with all your personal theories on books and worldhoppers -
Does anyone know what character archetypes Brandon used in the original crew of Mistborn?
-
If I wanted to ask Brandon a question, where would I do that? As I understand it, he isn’t very active on this website but he is in other electronic forums. Which are they?

I think that the fortune and time dilation comes from the shattering of Adonalsium. During that time, even if he didn't take a shard, there would have been stray power flowing everywhere, assuming there were 16 little boxes with labels like Odium, Preservation, Dominion. I have also heard that whatever weapon they used to kill Adonalsium used extreme power, and Hoid is now harnessing part of that to achieve his own goals.

He may have grown dependant on pewter. Vin is naturally graceful, quick, and has amazing stability, but without pewter, she feels slow and useless.

Hoid is arguably the most powerful non-Shardic being in the Cosmere. He was on Sel and almost became an Elantrian. He was on Roshar and stole a bead of Lerasium, making him one of the most powerful Mistborn ever. He may have access to unkeyed metal minds. He now has knowledge of Hemalurgy, but will most likely not make use of this power do to its more gruesome qualities. He was on Taldain where he got a jar of sand and the expertise to use it. He was on Roshar where he is now bonding a cryptic. He was on Nalthis where he bought enough breaths to get him to at least the 5th heightening, maybe more. He is from Yolen where he has access to a kind of Lightweaving native to that planet. He was at the shattering of Adonalsium, where he became functionally immortal. To recap, he is the 5th heightening, a full Mistborn, has access to 3 forms of Lightweaving, owns some unkeyed metal minds, can use Hemalurgy, is functionally immortal. Am I missing anything?

My grandpa recommended that I listen to Mistborn on Audible. I loved it. That sparked reading and listening to books for me.

Sadly, both of those people are slightly wrong, While Ralph does destroy, Ruin has the ability to create as well, as long as it is in line with his plan to destroy. Preservation cannot fix or create, only preserve what currently is.

An allomancer would still be able to burn metals, as long as they thought they could. Due to the nature of Intention, if they believed they had no more powers, then they wouldn’t have powers. But if they knew they had powers then they would be able to burn metals. All three metallic arts would be usable anywhere in the Cosmere as long as the user wants to. This extends to Hemalurgy. If someone is stabbed with a spike of the correct metal, in the correct location, it would become invested if that was the intention. If it was happenstance that they were killed in that fashion, then it would still be an ordinary spike. Likewise, if someone has an unkeyed Feruchemical metalmind (A metalmind that can be used by anyone), they wouldn’t be able to access the power unless they knew it was there.

I just finished book one of the Stormlight Archives. What shard is the Almighty? Is Odium, hate, or destruction, or something like that?

I don't actually swear in real life, I just came up with something to say. When you are being creative and stitch some designs in a shirt, and realize that they are allomantic symbols. You are in science and the teacher asks, "What is the name of our universe?" and you instinctively shout out "Cosmere!". In exasperation, she asks "What is the name of our planet?" and she gets varying responses. The responses are as follows-Scadrial, Sel, Roshar, Nalthis, Taldian, and Threnody. You sit back in satisfaction, your work here is done, and the Almighty's will has been taught. (The Almighty is also called Brandon Sanderson) -
