  1. This all makes me wonder what would happen if Lift tried to burn metals.
  2. 1. Kelsier 2. Dalinar 3. Hoid 4. Shallan 5. Vivenna 6. Kaladin 7. Elend 8. Vin 9. Galladon 10. Marasi
  3. Lopen's regrown arm. But seriously, Shallan and Hoid, with the whole Girl Who Looked Up story
  4. I always thought the unmade were servants of Odium, but not necessarily from him. Why would Nergaoul be red if it was from Odium in the first place? Honor couldn't have corrupted him, nor co-opted him.
  5. So I was thinking the other day about the origin of the unmade, and it occurred to me that the effects of the Thrill sounded unlike what Odium does to other people, he is described as the Void and sucks in all emotion. The Thrill on the other hand gives passion in warfare and competition, it drives people to greater ambition. Dalinar, in the height of his Thrill induced "intoxication" grew so ambitious that he nearly killed Gavilar. To me that looks like a piece of Ambition got broken off of the main shard as it got splintered and got corrupted by Odium. Thoughts?
  6. To me, this part of the book looks like Hemalurgy. Sadeas’ men accept the thrill, and as a result they open their spirit webs up to the control of Odium. Odium can then confuse their weakened minds, looking for combat, to attack the other Alethi. I think the path the fuzed (and spren) take from shadesmar is Odium’s perpendicularity, riding on the Everstorm. Like how Honor’s perpendicularity rides the Highstorm infusing spheres as it passes. Radiant spren use Honor’s. Before the Everstorm was summoned, the listeners could only change form during Highstorm.
  7. It is red because it is corrupted investiture or co-opted from another shard, making a twisted intent. I don’t think we know what shard it came from. I don’t think it is originally from Odium though because it gives passion, it doesn't take it away like Odium does.
  8. The redness in Amaram’s men is due to the thrill, it disappeared after Dalinar captured Nergaoul.
  9. I guess I missed that, and now you mention it, the thrill also is red. But my point was that the investiture was not turned against itself to splinter it in this case because there is not enough red to have much impact. Some unmade, the Fuzed and the Releasers. Do you have the reference for the Dustbringers?
  10. Okay then. That leaves Honor. If Devotion and Dominion were practice, and Ambition was ideal. what happened with Honor? I suppose Honor fought back more cleverly, imprisoning Odium instead of trying to splinter/kill Rayse. Odium did mention in his first meeting with Dalinar that if he were released from Braize he would kill Cultivation and take all the investiture away from Roshar.
  11. I think the real problem with that hypothesis is, when investiture is co-opted or corrupted, it turns red. I can only think of one thing on Sel that might be due to corrupted investiture, and that is a Bloodsealer's eyes. On Roshar, none of the Radiants have red spren or have their eyes turn red. I think however that on Threnody (with Ambition) he could have used that method.
  12. Right, it would only possibly work on Sel and you would not be able to leave the planet, and you would have to stamp yourself daily. Its hypothetical.
  13. Would it be possible to change your Spiritweb to such an extent that you could fool it into believing itself younger than it truly is? To my knowledge Atium compounding gets harder the longer you live. Eventually the Lord Ruler would have died despite Atium compounding because his spirit knew it was supposed to be aging. When Vin took away his bracers, his spirit took over and he aged so rapidly they could watch it. The Fifth heightening gets around this by stocking the soul with so much investiture that it no longer perceives itself as being aged. So it preserves the body. But what if by forging your soul you could change your soul's spiritual perception of age? Thoughts?
  14. I don’t think Trell and Odium are the same. Trellium, as has been stated is silvery with a reddish cast to it and red spots like rust. However if we take Vyre’s knife, SPOILER FOR OB. (The knife used by Moash to kill Jezrien for good) as being Raysium, it was described as being a light golden white colour. That leads me to believe, despite red eyes, that they are completely different shards.
  15. I believe that characteristic would be further inhanced in a full singer. Inferring from the interlude in WoR where Eshonai is angry and attracting anger spren. “She saw them coming from a ways off, drawn by her emotion, moving with incredible speed-like lightning dancing toward her across the distant stone. The lightning pooled at her feet, turning the stones red.”
