“Maybe if I just if ignore it he’ll lose interest. I can pretend I don’t know. There’s no way he’d actually admit it to me, right?” Jenny was far too panicked to notice Ed’s smile. She was very much not smiling herself. Her head was hurting again, but now for a completely understandable reason.
-
“I don’t know what to do. Should I be extra mean to him, try to drive him off? Just not talk to him? Straight up tell him I’m not interested? Oh gosh, this is so weird…” Jenny had now put both hands on her head and was freaking out. Why did the person she hated most in the world like her? He said he hated her. Maybe he just liked how she looked. She wasn’t sure if that was worse or not. It was certainly creepier.
-
A look of absolute horror slowly dawned on Jenny’s face. Ed wasn’t joking. ”Oh. Oh no.” She didn’t understand this at all. Roy had literally impaled her about thirty minutes ago. But Ed didn’t lie, and he could read body language better than she could. And Roy had been acting weirdly nice to her. She had no idea what to do.
-
Ed was laughing. Surely that meant he was joking. A weird time to be joking, but he likely was trying to lighten the mood. That was a good sign. ”Ha ha, funny joke. But seriously, what did you need to tell me?” Thankfully it seemed like Roy hadn’t hurt Ed. He would’ve probably told her immediately if that was what had happened.
-
Now Ed’s legs were shaking. Jenny was getting very worried. He had started to seem like he was getting his energy back. What was wrong? ”What did you need to tell me?” She glanced back at where they had been sitting. She was glad they were out of earshot. ”Did Roy hurt you?” She had some very not-nice things to say about him if that was the case.
-
“I’ll be careful.” Ed’s hand was shaking. Jenny shot another glare at Roy just in case it was his fault. She gently held his hand, trying to help comfort him. “I think Harold and Rob are currently looking for a train. We can’t do much until they come back, unfortunately.”
-
Ed was frowning more, was that because he was worried about her hurting? She hoped he wasn’t. Only one of them needed to hurt. ”I think I can manage.” Jenny tried to stand up and she faltered as pain shot up from her side. It reminded her that she still needed to be careful. ”Maybe with a bit of help.”
-
Had Roy been mean to Ed? He was frowning. Jenny shot a glare at Roy too, just in case. She was now incredibly curious as to what Ed wanted to tell her. She needed to know how hard to punch Roy, depending on what he had said to Ed. She whispered in Ed’s ear. She would’ve used Gift, but he’d reacted oddly to that earlier. ”If you need to tell me something without Roy around, we should do that soon. It’ll be a while before we can talk alone once Rob and Harold get back.” She wasn’t sure Roy would leave her alone while they were walking.
-
When Edgar squeezed Jenny’s arm, she slowly came back to consciousness. It took her a while to get her senses back, however. The light through her eyelids and noise of conversation were overwhelming. She didn’t pick up most of what was said. Eventually, she blinked open her eyes. Oddly, the headache was already beginning to disappear. The sun didn’t seem to have moved much, so she hadn’t been asleep for very long. ”Did I miss anything?” Ed and Roy seemed to be staring at each other. Had they been arguing? @RoyalBeeMage @Scars of Hathsin

Wait a second. Looks like there's something in this cage.

Eza peeked over the edge of the roof. Lum was alive and seemed to be alone. She sighed with relief. She quickly hopped off of the edge of the building, slightly pulling on the pipes to slow her descent, and scurried over. Eza watched the entrance to the bar over Lum’s shoulder as she spoke; she hadn’t seen the two strangers exit yet. ”I don’t carry bandages.” She scanned Lum. They looked like they were hurt badly, covered in burns and cuts. But they wouldn’t likely be able to get treatment at a hospital. They needed to lay low, especially after setting a bar on fire. ”I do have my cloak…” She loved her cloak. It had been her constant companion on the streets, one of her most prized possessions. It also happened to hide the many purses she had on her person. But desperate times called for desperate measures. ”Would strips of fabric from it work?” Eza figured she’d ask Lum, give them the opportunity to decline, before resorting to destroying her cloak. The reluctance was quite evident in her voice.

Granted. Your left and right hands get switched. I wish for one of those tassels you find on things like graduation caps. -

Nope! My two brothers are left handed, although one was too stubborn to admit it and used his right hand enough that he became ambidextrous. TPBM prefers bar soap to liquid soap.

Done? Let's get moving. Cheese of any quality is nice, so long as it’s not rotten.
