  1. “This is different. The voice is new, but I’ve always been this way. My brain’s just not built right.” The voice was a different type of wrong. The stress caused by it wasn’t helping, however. It was certainly exasperating her problems.
  2. Jenny pulled back, smiled, then immediately kissed Ed again. 4 - 5, she was catching up.
  3. 3 - 5. Jenny was really getting behind. She didn’t particularly mind. She wrapped her arms around Ed’s neck and pulled herself slightly upwards, into the kiss.
  4. “Thank you.” Hopefully Ed didn’t see her as weak now. Jenny didn’t think he would, but she worried anyways. She took a deep, shuddering breath. It didn’t make her panic, this time. In that moment, she felt safe. She looked up at Ed and smiled. There were tears in her eyes, but not all of them were bad ones now.
  5. After a moment, Jenny spoke again in a quiet voice. ”I think talking helps. It’s like if I don’t tell someone, then the emotions about having those emotions get trapped in my head and push it even closer to exploding. I don’t know if that makes sense.” She appreciated Ed being there deeply. She liked his arms around her, but it was his willingness to listen that really helped.
  6. Chuck Norris once punched a hurricane in the eye.
  7. Jenny let Ed pull her head against his chest. ”I’m broken. My brain doesn’t work right. Sometimes when I’m stressed, my mind just quits functioning. Negative emotions overwhelm me until I can’t form thoughts, and then I can’t even understand what the emotions are. Just that there’s something very bad in my head and too much of it. It feels like I’m going to explode. I don’t know what to do other than run away and cry. I can’t keep doing that, but I just don’t know how to fix it, and I… I…” She was getting too close to pushing herself over the edge again, so she quit talking and squeezed her eyes shut.
  8. I feel bad for the snail and make it a tasty replica sandwich. I then chuck a handful of glitter at Soulbinder and grab the sandwich when they drop it from the agony of glitter getting in their eyes.
  9. We’ve reached the opposite of thin! New word: Smart
  10. “Thank you.” Jenny stumbled in the direction of another tree, out of earshot from everyone else. She sat down on the opposite side so that she was out of eyesight from everyone else, too. She patted the ground next to her, asking Ed to sit down.
  11. Jenny fought to keep her eyes from going glassy. It was so easy to just leave, float somewhere else. But that scared Ed. She didn’t want to do that to him. So she wrapped a shaking arm around him too. Now that the adrenaline had left her system, she was once again in pain and feeling the emotions on the tail-end of the breakdown. Jenny needed to tell someone what was going on. She couldn’t keep hiding this. She could tell Ed. But telling him right there, in front of everyone else, wasn’t something she was comfortable with. She whispered in his ear. ”Can you please help me move somewhere other than here?”
  12. Jenny might’ve gone after the stranger if it weren’t for her side. Instead, she tried to subtly wipe the tears off of her face as best as she could, attempting to hide the fact that she’d been crying from Roy and Aaron. It was too late to hide it from Ed. She was weak. She’d cracked under the weight of pressure, pressure that everyone else seemed to handle just fine. Useless, stupid Jenny, She looked downwards, both in shame and to hide her face. Running away again would made her distress far too obvious and just hurt her more. @Weaver of Lights @Scars of Hathsin @RoyalBeeMage
  13. Eza successfully shot down the alleyway unseen by her target, clutching a bundle of bandages. She would’ve been smiling if she wasn’t so frustrated with Lum. The thick blue line turned out to be from a large metal door blocking entryway into some sort of storage space. She extinguished her iron before she slammed into it, then pulled on some pipes behind her to slow her momentum. She eventually came to a stop right in front of the door, landing lightly on her feet. Eza didn’t touch the ground for more than a second before using her pipe trick to leap up onto the roof of a building. She hunkered down and kept an eye out for Lum. They’d seen which direction she had gone and would eventually make their way over to her, assuming they didn’t ditch her. She pulled out her newly acquired fork. At least one positive thing had come out of the visit to the bar. Fortunately, the Mistwarrens were dark enough at night that there wasn’t much light on the rooftop that could glint off of its shiny metal. Eza legitimately considered whether or not she should stick it in Lum’s face. @Stormlightsong @Scars of Hathsin
  14. “So we’re to assume you’re an assassin, then?” Jenny was now becoming more annoyed than nervous.
  15. “Because there’s three armed people in front of you who have no reason to trust you either. What’s to say you aren’t a spy sent to find our position and report back to our enemies? Perhaps you were sent here to kill us and have done a very poor job of it. If we knew why you were here, we wouldn’t need to make such unfortunate assumptions.”
  16. Seriously? ”Dude, c’mon. Just tell us!” Raising her voice sent another jolt of pain through her side, and Jenny grimaced. She fell to the ground, and decided that it wasn’t worth the effort to get up. She’d be useless in a fight, her only option was to try and put the stranger to sleep. Jenny lowered her dagger in an attempt to show a sign of trust.
  17. “‘I wanted to come’ doesn’t count as a reason. Why did you want to come?” Why was he being so incredibly vague?
  18. Jenny lowered her dagger slightly. He hadn’t accepted that he was at fault, but at least he had apologized. ”Please just tell us what you are here for, then.” Jenny smelled a beautiful, familiar smell. Her ruby wasn’t glowing. Death flowers? She hadn’t realized they grew here. And the smell had become overpowering instantly. Had Aaron grown some flowers or something?
  19. “I wouldn’t have seen you if you weren’t there.” Jenny was getting fed up with this guy. He wasn’t being very reasonable. He needed to just accept that this was his fault. Prove that he was at least somewhat worthy of trust.
  20. “Then you shouldn’t have been following us. It’s your fault I saw you.” Jenny paused. Untrustworthy as the guy might’ve been, there wasn’t much reason to lie to him about something like this. ”To be fair, I was already frightened. You just accidentally made it worse.” @Weaver of Lights @Scars of Hathsin
  21. “Why would I?” Jenny suddenly realized that her side felt like it was on fire and winced, nearly falling back to the ground. Hopefully she hadn’t done any damage. “He probably won’t kill you, anyways.” @Weaver of Lights
  22. “And we don’t owe you the privilege of walking into our camp.” Jenny drew her dagger and moved in front of Ed slightly.
  23. “You didn’t answer my question.” Jenny debated if she should try putting the stranger to sleep. She would probably pass out, and there was a chance she might not succeed. That would leave her vulnerable. @Weaver of Lights
