    I believe that it was because, when he first started out with his powers, he was too inexperienced to do it correctly, and it was one of the first things he did. By the time he realized his mistake, his power had waned too much for him to fix it. (Don’t quote me on this, my knowledge is a bit rusty.)

    A blackness somehow darker than the deep shadows surrounding them started to surround them, slowly bleeding in from the very edges of Shadow’s vision.

    The shadows seemed to bend towards her, the light banished wherever she went. The darkness closed in on all in her presence until only her silver eyes shone in the blackness.
