  1. Jenny handed Timothy to Ed, a bit reluctant to give him up. He could be trusted, though, having made the toy in the first place. ”His name is Timothy. And thanks for making him!”
  2. “Oh.” She hadn’t considered that. She eyed the girl, now incredibly suspicious of her. Best to keep a close eye on her for now, however. If she did happen to be a monster, it would be better to know where she was so she couldn’t ambush them. Jenny moved slightly so that she was blocking Ed from the girl with her body a bit more.
  3. “I tried to tap her with Sword, and it didn’t pass through her. I think she might be your sister, actually! She’s crazy good at wood carving, like you are.” Jenny carefully picked Ed up and brought him over to the plant ball. She set him down on a bench, then sat next to him. She wrapped an arm around him so she could subtly help support him with sitting up without embarrassing him.
  4. “She’s a demigod that Lucid apparently made friends with.” Jenny offered her arm for Ed to lean on, then glanced over at the girl. ”Ah, shoot. I forgot to ask Lucid what her name was.” She looked back to Ed and noticed that his legs were shaking. She whispered to him. ”Do you want me to carry you over to the plant ball thing?”
  5. Jenny tried to gently shake the girl awake, then immediately retreated towards Ed. She offered him her hand to help him stand up. @Anguished_One @Weaver of Lies Noticing the spot for the dog, Jenny grinned and readied Timothy for the trip. He had very quickly become one of her most prized possessions.
  6. “Hmm.” Jenny looked at the girl for a moment. ”Do you want to wake her up and explain the situation to her? She seemed to be friendly with you. She might be more receptive to listening to you than a stranger like me.” Jenny put her hair back up into a messy bun in an attempt to look less creepy.
  7. Jenny, of course, didn’t notice this. It didn’t help that her mind still dwelled on the glowing gem she carried. She probably wasn’t dead. She couldn’t be dead. Right? ”Should we take her with us? I don’t think leaving her in the arch alone is safe, at least.”
  8. Jenny nodded, shoved her ruby in her bag, then tiptoed her way over to the sleeping girl. She carefully raised Sword and gently tapped the flat of the blade on her arm, trying to not wake her up. The blade didn’t pass through her, making contact. So the girl was actually a demigod. Lucid’s instincts were better than she’d thought. @Anguished_One
  9. I’ve got some soul food. Anyone want chicken and waffles?
  10. Jenny went to put Timothy in her bag, but then noticed a red light inside it. She pulled out her ruby, which was shining quite brightly. This was from more than the death of an animal. She glanced around; everyone seemed to be alive. She held it aloft and walked in a small circle, trying to locate the source, but its brightness never changed. She put it next to her face, then moved it away. The ruby dimmed as it left her proximity. How long had it been glowing?
  11. Jenny’s eyes sparkled with excitement and wonder. ”Timothy.” ”Well, there’s a foolproof way to test if someone is a demigod.” Jenny unsheathed Sword, still clutching Timothy in one hand. ”I can try to tap her with the flat edge of Sword and see if it goes through her or not. It might freak her out, though, and it’ll blow our cover if she’s just a regular mortal.”
  12. Jenny wound it up again to see what would happen, still holding it. “Yep.” Jenny wanted to continue her conversation with Lucid, but they really did need to go. She glanced at the girl, wondering what to do about her. @Wierdo
  13. Seeing Ed wince made Jenny wince too. Sorting out whatever was happening with this random girl was incredibly urgent, however, so she couldn’t go and comfort Ed yet. She scooped up the dog toy and started petting it.
  14. Only one person here could make something like this. Jenny looked up and saw Ed smiling. She pointed at the dog and then gave a double thumbs up, grinning. He was so talented. ”Hmm… That reminds me of Ed. It’s not impossible for a mortal to be good at carving, but this does seem like Hephaestus kid work.” @Anguished_One
  15. “Why do you…” Jenny trailed off as she noticed a dog toy waddling over. Her attention was immediately diverted away from their conversation and moved to it. She crouched down and inspected it, fascinated.

  17. Lucid really needed to work on his instincts. Nothing about this was supposed to feel “right”. “Do you have any specific reasons why we should trust this girl?” Jenny once again noticed how high up they were. By this point she’d started to get desensitized to it, but it still put her even more on edge.
  18. “She was carrying a knife and was right in the middle of the scene of a very obvious fight, that is incredibly suspicious!” Jenny pointed at the large crack in the window covered with plants and the blood stains on the floor. ”Even if she had a knife for normal reasons, tourists aren’t supposed to carry around bows with them.” Jenny took a deep breath, then sighed. ”I’m sorry for getting mad, it’s just that I know how awful things get when mortals get involved with godly stuff. Imagine if you’d told her that we’d fought a chimera or that I’d been possessed. She’d probably think we were criminally insane.”
  19. Jenny ran a hand across her face, now extremely stressed. This was going to, at the very least, massively worsen their situation with the mortals. ”Did you explain why you had a bow? That’s an incredibly suspicious object to have on your person when you’re currently the suspect in a manhunt.”
  20. “Why does she know about us? That’s very, very bad! Did you tell her any details?” Jenny knew what happened when mortals knew what you were. It was never good. She failed to fully hide her anxiety about this, having started to gesticulate a bit wildly.
  21. I used to play, I think it was for eightish years. Do you know the muffin man?
  22. Jenny led Lucid a little ways away from the girl. She spoke in a whisper, trying to hide her nervousness from the stranger in the event that she woke up. ”Why are you talking to a mortal? She shouldn’t be here! It’s dangerous for both us and her.”
  23. I wanna talk about cheese! What do you want to be played as you walk down the aisle at your wedding?
