  10. “That makes sense. I think. And the bird thing’s true! I got pooped on by eight birds at once and found a really shiny coin face up that same day!” Eza yawned and realized that it was getting late. “I’m gonna go to sleep.” Having somewhere to sleep indoors was odd. It was probably safer. But she felt trapped. She couldn’t run in any direction if she got in trouble. So she grabbed a blanket and pillow and made a nest of sorts in a corner of the room facing the door. She also made sure that the lock on the window was latched shut. Peering out, the street seemed empty. But it had seemed empty before. Eza checked the sheaths hidden under her cloak. Her daggers were still there. Pulling one out, she admired the gemstones embedded in its hilt. Eza had practiced grabbing them quickly, just in case. And she’d also quit accidentally slicing herself with them.
  11. I use one of those sticky grabby hand things to wrench it from your grasp.
  12. I spent a looooot of time here . It’s also really easy to rack up posts on this thread. There’s a reason anything posted in the Forum Games section doesn’t count towards your total post count.
  13. Essentially that. There was a point where it was just posting edited joke movie posters, for example.
  14. Cosmerian? Eza really didn’t know much about things beyond Scadrial, and that was becoming more apparent each day she spent in the Alleycity. Maybe she could learn some things from Lum. ”I’m sorry you’ve gotta deal with downsides.” She thought for a moment, her brow furrowing. “So if a bird poops on you it means you’re gonna have a really good day? Aside from being pooped on.” She dumped the iron flakes into a small vial of oil. She swirled it around and placed it in one of her bags. ”Birds are jerks, y’know. I think they poop on people intentionally.”
  15. Eza immediately started devouring the food. She ate surprisingly fast for someone so small. Normally, she only ate what she could steal. Eza was rarely able to have large meals all at once. She spoke in between bites. ”I don’t really have anyone to ‘accompany’ me, I guess. I’ve been on my own for a while. And if you’re a poor kid on your own, you gotta be good at stealing. I’ve always been good at that, though.” She burned the remaining iron in her stomach and shot a now empty plate into her hand. ”People aren’t too kind to those like me. And this thing makes ‘em scared of me, sometimes.” She pointed to the large scar stretching from her temple to her chin. ”People said that Alleycity had a lot of weird folks. Heard stories about people with strange powers and odd looks. Figured I’d fit in here. Stand out less.” She chugged the remainder of her juice and pulled out a file, beginning to make a small pile of iron shavings from the flask. ”You’re one of those people with strange powers, right?”
  16. Lunamor grabbed any remaining dropped materials and placed them on the table. He then noticed the shards of glass from the shattered broam strewn about. His frown deepened. “How and why did you shatter glass on my table?”
  17. RoW
  18. How many scrolls did this scholar bring? ”Do you want help picking those up?”
  19. “I have been unable to visit the Oceans.” He gestured around him. ”This place, he has kept me busy.” He glanced at the orange he was sipping. ”We have to-go cups if you want to take some home with you.”
  20. Still glaring, Lunamor reached behind the bar and pulled out a bottle of orange. He poured the man a glass and handed it to him. ”Horneaters, we know many things.”
  21. Lunamor scoffed from across the restaurant, offended.
  22. That had been both fun and confusing. Eza thought she had started to understand how the games worked, but Lum was oddly good at them. Maybe she didn’t really get it yet. Maybe she needed more practice. I wonder how well iron pulling works on dice… She turned back as Lum was leaving. “Please bring back an iron flask!” Looking at the loot, she eagerly began grabbing items. Her favorite was a tiny golden cat statue with blue gems for eyes. After picking out what she wanted, she dumped out the coin and took all of the shiny ones, leaving the dull ones. Eza was careful to leave half of the loot on the table to share. Well, more like 2/5 of it.
  23. Eza made sure to snatch a particularly pretty necklace made of glass beads and added it to her pile. Then, she picked up the necklace Lum had pushed towards her. Holding it up, she gazed at the silver metal and small gemstones embedded within. It had some sort of writing inscribed. “What’s this one say on it?”
