  1. 1. I've never thought of that before. But yes, I suppose. 2. Well, broccoli is better. It doesn't have any reason to be jealous. Cauliflower is just pale, stunned by broccoli's beauty. 3. An interesting question. Lazy people's tongue's rest on the bottom. People who are quick-witted have it in the middle, lying in wait. 4. I don't know, but they're not easy to clean up and not fun to step in. 5. Well, most grapes I've seen would get kicked out of a store. They must make it home-grown. Either that or raisins are just cheap. 6. The end. Anywhere in the middle would look awkward and the beginning has to be stark. You can put whatever you want at the end.
  2. And who knows, I get most of my upvotes from art. I kinda want to do Xino as well. Fire would be interesting.
  3. Thought paled. Keyed... did that mean one of the people from her past? This was happening too fast. They had been safe and now...
  4. Astral wasn't sure what to do anymore. And, well, Luna was a Narrator. He'd make it through. She sighed, standing. She really ought to get back to fighting these things.
  5. Honestly, I hate Moash with all my heart and soul and I hope he dies a very painful death, but I have faith that Brandon will make us cry over him eventually. People from the future will read our stuff and think, "Wait, people hated this guy? He's awesome!"
  6. Star, Astral, Thought, or any other of Shard of Thought's aspects were not involved with any shipping of any kind.
  7. "But not Star and Marsh," Astral decided to remind everyone. "Star and Marsh were dead and gone."
  8. Astral pulled her bat to a halt as she saw Luna drop. He had been kind to her in the past. Helped her in her darkest moments. She urged the bat toward him, forcing it to land. Stay, she impressed upon it. She scooped Luna into her arms and in a flash, they were on the second floor. Astral racked her brains. She wasn't a healer. Didn't know all that much about medicine. She snapped her fingers, summoning a basket of white cloth strips. Apply pressure? she thought to herself. Well, better than nothing.
  9. Normally, Astral did not like getting her hands dirty, but there was something about destroying these creatures that awakened something inside of her. Something that made her feel alive. Each kill, each drop of these creatures' blood that sprayed upon her cheek felt like retribution. Not for her - her heart had been crushed beyond repair and was as black as ash - but for everyone she had failed. It was so nice to feel something. She rolled as one of the monsters bit at her, then melted. Literally melted into a puddle of her own sticky black essence underneath the thing's underbelly. She re-formed and stabbed at it. It cried out in surprise and she melted again to get out of the way as it fell with a crash. Standing, she plucked off one of the monster's large scales. It was heavy and rather large. She hefted it. It could serve as a fine shield. Let's test that, shall we? She called her silver blade to her hand and ran toward a large rat with red eyes. It might be tricky to- Something swooped over her head and Astral felt it as a large bat clawed at her chest. She fell to the floor, grunting as the gargantuan thing settled on the ground beside her, extending its great wings and screeching in triumph. "You want me?" she yelled at the bat. "Well come and get me!" Pulling herself to her feet and brandishing her sword, she charged the thing. She knew to get at those wings. If it couldn't fly, it would be easy to destroy. Unfortunately, the bat knew this as well and lifted itself off the ground, the wind created by the flapping of its wings took making Astral's hair flow behind her. It came for her, swiping with its lower claws. The shield would be her greatest ally here. These monsters were made of tough stuff. She took a swing at the bat's claws, but it smacked the sword out of her hands. The weapon landed with a clank against the marble floor, sliding away from her. No, she thought. The bat seemed to sense her fear. It swooped in close, grabbing her leg and carrying her away. All of a sudden she was off the ground, upside down. It was a dizzying flight and being dropped on her head once they reached the second level didn't help her queasiness. Once she found her senses again, she crawled backward, looking into the bat's hungry eyes. It would claw her apart. Revel in her death and leave whatever remained of her body to rot here. She glared. And melted. Becoming a puddle was one thing. Moving as one was another. It required concentration as one couldn't exactly see in this state. She slithered forward, grabbing onto the confused bat's claw and moving up, over its belly and... Onto its back. She re-formed, gripping the thing's neck. It resisted, but she put her hand on its head, entering its mind and asserting her dominance. She laughed, willing the creature to hop off the balcony and fly. She smiled and dove straight toward the rat she had been intending to fight earlier.
  10. "The shadow Realm," Astral explained, chopping at the legs of a spider. "And I don't think it matters how you kill them, just that you do."
  11. Amaram is awesome and I would have loved to see more of him. He's intriguing to me and much, much better than Moash.

    Marsh

From the album: My Mistborn Stuff

I swear I will never get over this man. We love you, Marshmallow!
  13. But it was storming awesome!!! Astral cared. She could appreciate good writing.
  14. So, I was curious as to how we split for this. SA seems like it would attract more people, but for a lot of us devout cosmere fans, Mistborn was our first so we're biased. I'm a Mistborn person myself, mostly because of how much I connected with the characters. Anyway, what side are y'all on?
  15. Astral had read enough stories to know that when a force like this was invading, you had to destroy the source. There would be no end unless they found it. "Shadow," she said. "We need to go into the Shadow Realm." She grunted, summoning a sword to her hand to block the pincer of a scorpion. The sword dissolved as soon as it became redundant. "Find where these things come from. Destroy it for good. Will you help me?"
  16. The dark creatures made a mess. They were storming hard to destroy and their blood stained. That's why I lost the dress, Astral thought to herself. Too fluffy. She smiled, melting to the floor and stabbing through the monsters with her essence. It felt good to finally do something.
  17. Astral shook her head. How dramatic. Her skin, sporadic as it was, began to move, forming silver markings. Her hair grew long and she smiled. Just like her lavender counterpart. But she wore slender metal boots better than bare feet. Storming Thought. Not even a part of her anymore.
  18. "I just claimed the title first, Shadow." Astral stretched. "So, shall we come to them or let them come to us?"
  19. Ah, foggy days are the best. Sometimes I just want to go outside in a mistcloak and be like, "Deal with it."
  20. AJ paled. This was not supposed to have happened. "Thought..." What could he even say to her? The truth could break her heart.
  21. Astral stood, cracking her neck. "Why not? I've been itching to move. Release all of this somehow." Her skin bust in a flurry of darkness and she smiled. "Bring it on."
