    Ember laid her elbow against her knee and rested her cheek on her fist, watching Heather quietly and unblinking.

    Sophie sent Aqua a look of death, then sat down with her back turned and put herself in a soundproof forcefield and began to cry.

    "You came here to save Xinoehp!" Sophie yelled. "You came here with me to help him out and now you're just going to let him die?! This isn't for me, Aqua, this is for him."

    Sophie shook with rage, fists clenched at her sides. She growled. "Please," she said tightly.

    I think you mean Aqua. Sophie folded her arms. "I wouldn't kill and you know it. The only killer is you if you don't save Xino when you could."

    Sophie's lower lip quivered and she narrowed her eyes. "You've been rude to me since day one," she accused. "You told me to come help Xino and I did, I gave everything to help him. How is it fair that I have to do what you asked and you, you don't even give anything. You-" She scoffed, face going a deep shade of blue. "Why you're just a selfish little orb!"

    Ember shook herself. "I am... good." She blinked.

    Ember sat still and stared off into the distance, lost in thought.

    Ember stared at Heather's metal eyes. She missed her old ones. "Why shouldn't life be fair? Star deserves her rest."

    "But you deserve to have what you want..." Ember muttered. "I do not."

    "But I want to help you," Ember pleaded.

    Ember visibly flinched and bowed her head in shame.

    "But Aqua," Sophie pleaded. "Xino will die without you." She sniffed. "We came here to save 'im. If you can help him, then you should."

    Ember furrowed her brow sadly. With all her power, Heather still thought she was useless. "Surely there is something. I... do not like feeling unhelpful."

    "I am unworried," Ember said. "She came back before. Besides, she is with Xino and Master Pheo." She blinked. "But you are still pained. Is there anything I may do for you?"

    Ember was silent for a moment. "... Yes. But this feels different. She is closer this time."

    "O-oh," Sophie said, wiping her snotty nose. She narrated a tissue and blew into it, blushing furiously as she wiped her tears from her eyes. "W-w-what then?"

    "True Love's Kiss, I know," Sophie said. "But that won't work, it won't. He doesn't love me, Michael."

    Sophie's heart softened slightly. She didn't want Michael to be in pain as well. "B-but I came here to save him," she explained. "I was supposed to... to save him. I d-did everything. I just wanted to be a hero..." She cried harder.

    "I don't care!" Sophie yelled as her light began to dim. "I don't care. I don't... I don't... I... I..." She sniffed. "I love him..." She started to sob uncontrollably. "He can't die..."

    I'm keeping him alive. Those words consumed her, left her blind to everything else around her. Sophie poured every drop of her light into Xino's body. Darkness was defeated by light. She had that light. She would use it.

    Sophie's face flushed with anger again. "Well, I'm. Keeping. Him. ALIVE!" With that, her body exploded with light.

    Star hardly heard him. What had just happened to her? Why was she so on edge? She looked down at her fingers to find that they were trembling. What's wrong with me? she thought.

    Star paled. "Oh," she whispered. She swallowed, embarrassed. She had truly thought that she was trapped here. Never again would she let her herself be captured. To think she had wanted that... It seemed lifetimes ago. She took a shaky breath, bowing her head. "Oh, thank TVG."
