  1. I know a few but JDK is best. Also thought I'd mention this since someone did earlier but the most accurate fan translation of Zero no Kiseki, The Geofront is 100% completed. It looks like they just have to run some player tests and debug and it will be hopefully ready in a few months. https://geofront.esterior.net/2019/09/21/trails-from-zero-100/
  2. Can we just take a moment to appreciate how amazing the music is in these games? Those are some of my favorites. The Super Arrange versions might not be in game but they are better versions than the original
  3. The battle theme of the Enforcers: The Phantom Thief Bleublanc, Bewitching Bell Luciola, and Walter the Direwolf. There's a vocal version too but the super arrange instrumental version is so much better.
  4. This is what I got. A Flydigi Wee 2. You have to scan a QR Code it comes with and download some software to use it (which was all in Chinese so I had to fumble around to get it to work) but it works really well! My Galaxy s8 fits it and controls have no input lag. Only issue I have with it is I can't charge my phone or use a headphone jack. I have a bluetooth headset which should work though.
  5. I actually went ahead and bought a bluetooth controller that my phone docks into because the touch controls for the emulator are kinda awful.
  6. Haven't played Sora in a long time so I just kinda forgot Joshua's personality. It probably got mixed up with other JRPG characters... Also I found english translations of Zero and Ao no Kiseki! But I can't link them for obvious reasons. But I will tell you that I am really enjoying Zero despite the translation being a little wonky. You can tell some sentences were translated directly from Japanese and it just sounds bad. You can especially tell this with Lloyd because he talks pretty formal a lot of the time. EDIT: I thought I'd bring this up too since I forgot but @Weltall mentioned Beryl earlier and she's just too weird and fascinating a character for her to not be important somehow. I believe...
  7. I always thought it was cool how Trails of Cold Steel 1 & 2 and Zero no Kiseki/Ao no Kiseki took place at literally the exact same time, just in different places. You even see the effects of what happens in Ao in Trails 2. I just really like that. It really let's you know these games are connected to each other.
  8. I was actually thinking of doing Radiant Orders for Ouroboros members. Lightweavers: Bleublanc is so obviously a Lightweaver. I'm torn on whether Campanella would be a Lightweaver or Willshaper Dustbringers have a few: Walter, McBurn, Shirley, and Cedric Stonewards: Arianrhod and the Stahlritter (Duvalie, Ines, and Ennea) Truthwatchers: Georg Weissman, F. Novartis, and possibly Mariabell Crois. Ok seriously just think about it. Elsecaller: Vita Clotilde. She's a witch and Elsecallers feel the most like witches to me. Maybe Luciola? Edgedancer: Sharon Kreuger. Very caring, despite being a super assassin maid. Renne probably. If it's later series Renne. Windrunner: Joshua Astray Skybreaker: Leonhardt (Loewe). His whole attitude fits a Skybreaker perfectly. Feel free to add or change anything Also for the fun of it:
  9. @EluvianiiTokyo Xanadu is for PS3 and PS4 if you have those. It *might* be for Vita too if I'm not mistaken. So if you have any of those consoles you can get it! It's definitely not as good as Trails but it's still really fun. I like Millium's VA! It's Alisa I can't stand. Millium is also Sean Chiplock's (voice of Rean) favorite character haha. Honestly I swear if Sara's English VA is different for 3 I will be so sad I might switch to Japanese audio. I *love* how she delivers her lines. Also my favorite conversation in the entire series: I really like to think this was done on purpose, but I heard that the translator had moments where she lapsed because of the sheer amount of lines that needed to be done, and some of her mistakes made it into the game and never got patched out.
  10. The only reason I didn't put them in was because I wanted to have enough characters for one of each Order. And seeing how Sara is your teacher and Crow is well...yeah, I figured it would be ok. Sara is legit in my like top 3 favorite female characters though just because of how hilarious and lazy she is. Or as Rean likes to say:
  11. @Eluvianii I actually discovered Trails from Tokyo Xanadu. There are so many in-game references to the series (if you go to the bookstore in the game there's Crow Armbrust doujins and Class VII posters everywhere) that it basically forced me to check it out. Nice Lechter profile pic by the way! The discovery of the Cosmere came to me in a similar manner (in a book character vs battle Facebook page haha). I played the older Legend of Heroes games, the ones before Trails universe but the never stuck like this series. I'm glad they got most of the VA's back for 3 (Sean Chiplock is literally a treasure that must be protected, dude is so humble and amazing, and he really cares about his fans), but I'm a bit worried about NIS localizing it. They have been known to censor stuff...
  12. @Weltall I'm actually wondering if Kondo read some of Sanderson's books. Gaius looks almost identical to what I think Kaladin looks like. Minus the forehead tattoos (although Gaius has them on his arms instead). Speaking of, there was a thread a long time ago that asked people to sort non-Cosmere characters into Radiant orders and I couldn't resist comparing Class VII to different orders. Now that I look back on it, Millium might make a better Dustbringer because of her penchant for bringing out Airgetlam at the worst possible moments to destroy stuff. I had a hard time sorting her and Alisa. Speaking of, I really like how the characters evolve from being two dimensional stereotypes. Even Gaius who is admittedly the most static character in the group. It's funny how he grew up in a nomadic tribe but ends up being really good with technology. He could tone it down with the wind talk though haha. While Alisa who you think is just a trendy rich girl, turns out to love tinkering with complex machines. Jusis and Machias are probably the best examples of character development in Class VII though. Trails 3 and 4 spoilers that remind me of the Cosmere:
  13. Trails of Cold Steel has got to be my favorite JRPG series ever. With a fun combat system, a huge cast of diverse characters, excellent world building and lore it never gets boring. The first game follows the exploits of Class VII of Thors Military Academy in the Empire of Erebonia. You play mostly as the lead Rean Schwarzer, a 17 year old student at his first day in the Academy. You meet your classmates who are all very well fleshed out, if not stereotypical at first. That changes when you go on field study assignments to different parts of the Empire to learn not only about your friends, but the political and economical state of the Empire and its effects on the citizens, some of which you witness first hand. Beyond all the stress in the Empire there is a terrorist group you and your classmates must stop, and another even more shadowy organization behind that known as Ouroboros. Led by a figure known as the Grandmaster, they have access to technology beyond mortal understanding and can even forge weapons that ignore causality. They search for the Sept-Terrion, seven divine treasures that were supposedly given to mankind by the sky goddess Aidios. As much as they seem like villains at times, I get the feeling they aren't actually evil even though their actions can be considered as such. Some however are pretty evil like F. Novartis, Georg Weissman and Campanella. A neat thing about the Trails series is that characters from other games constantly bump into each other. Some characters from other games become team members in others. This is especially apparent in the upcoming third game. One of the members of Ouroboros, Bleublanc, literally shows up in every Trails game. He even shows up in the drama CD. Trails of Cold Steel IV is basically the Avengers version of Trails with all the main characters from the other series teaming up. The game also boasts a massive roster of team members. The first game has almost a dozen, second has about 15-20, third has over 25, while the 4th game has over 30 I believe. The gameplay is turned based with characters being able to move around in the field when it's their turn, which allows flanking and back attacks. You can 'link up' with another character to perform special abilities like back up attacks, buffs if your partner takes too much damage, or all-out-attacks like Persona. Each character has a device called an Orbment that you can customize with different gems called quartz for effects and spells. Think materia slots from FFVII but much more customizable. Weapons can be bought and upgraded at shops for better stats. There are a couple of neat minigames like Blade, a card game that is actually pretty fun. Fishing, which can really be useful as it can restore CP (which you can normally only recover in battle), plus you can get some rather good items from it. The second game has a snowboarding minigame, Blade II, and more fishing. You can even cook. Each character has recipes that they are good and bad at. Some can even create speciality foods. Even "failed" recipes are useful. Some can be used as attack items. There is a social aspect to the game as well if you like games like Persona. You can hang out with your friends and classmates, and even form a relationship with someone. It's simpler than Persona, but you still get to learn a lot more about your favorite characters and increase their link experience with you, unlocking more abilities you can perform together. The soundtrack is absolutely fantastic, ranging from heavy metal, to smooth jazz, to sciencey sounding synth. Almost every single track is amazing. Here's a boss fight that kinda shows what battles are like in the game. You'll notice how the guy playing gets a ton of turns before the enemy. This is because of a unique mechanic called 'delay' which if you hit an enemy with a skill that causes delay, it pushes back the enemies turn. You can go through entire fights without enemies getting a single turn if you play it smart. And there are also mech fights in the later games. Fights operate on a 'Rock, Paper, Scissors' battle system where you target enemy mechs body parts. Hitting the right one when they are in a certain stance opens up a follow-up attack and deals much more damage. After getting a stock of 3 or 5 Bravery Points you can unleash super moves: All in all, this game series is MASSIVE and the 3rd game is coming to PS4 in less than two months. If you like older JRPG series like Xenogears, Persona, Tales, and Final Fantasy, then I highly recommend trying it out.
  14. This sounds like something from Persona. The title Abend Time is the name of a radio program in the game.
  15. I thought Trails III's version of this theme was good, but Unfathomed Force Evolution is beyond god-tier.
  16. Enderal is a Skyrim mod (yes I know it sounds silly to make a whole topic about a mod, but read on please). It's a free total conversion mod by a group of professionals called SureAI that turns Skyrim into a totally different game with its own world, people, and cultures. It still feels like Skyrim a bit, but it is much, much better. For instance, combat feels much more fun, where you can weave together certain spells for different effects, and learn different combat stances. I play a rogue class, and leveling up one of 3 skill trees unlocks stuff like flash powder, oil that slows down would be attackers, and even the ability to cook your own poison food. And when searching corpses or treasure chests as a rogue you can sometimes find secret stashes if your "Sleight of Hand" skill is decent. The soundtrack is much more oppressive sounding than Skyrim's epic ballads and choruses. It fits the dreary landscapes and cities really well. You can gamble in pubs, craft tons of furniture for houses, invest money with a bank, and even own shareholdings. There are guilds you can join, like the Golden Sickle Merchants Guild, or in the new expansion you can become an assassin. There is a city called Ark, and it is bigger than any Skyrim city. It has 5 whole separate districts, with each one being the size of a town, and another entire city located underneath the main one. It's called the Undercity and I love it. The atmosphere is oppressive and gloomy, the sunken and rotting buildings are so cramped together you have to travel through alleyways and houses just to get to other areas. The poor, sick and destitute wander around begging for scraps, hired thugs shakedown residents for money, shady merchants ply their wares, while prostitutes call out to you in seedy pubs. Never, and I mean, NEVER have I seen a city in a video game with such attention to detail. Regions in Enderal include mountainous tundras, heartlands, coastal tropics, rocky islands, deserts, marshlands, and ravines. There are hundreds of map markers, and I swear I have never seen one location that looks similar to another. Every single place looks unique, and offers hundreds of hours of exploration. The story is much darker than I thought. You, a former citizen of Nehrim (SureAI's prequel to Enderal) start aboard a ship you smuggled yourself into and after being tossed overboard you wake up on the coast of Enderal. And everything starts getting crazy. A disease is rampaging unchecked across the continent called the Red Madness, turning wildlife aggressive, and normal villagers into crazed murderers. And to top it all off the dead are rising from their graves. You of course have to discover the origin of the disease, but you find it's much, MUCH more complicated than you thought. Seriously, check this game out. If you plan to play, you need the original 2011 Skyrim for PC or the Legendary Edition. Special Edition is not compatible unfortunately. Here is SureAI's site if you need more info: https://sureai.net/games/enderal/
  17. Enderal, a free total conversion mod for Skyrim by professional modders/programmers. What that means is it takes Skyrim and turns it into a totally different game with its own lore, people, and world. It's really dark, and actually creepy at times. And tough as in, no fast traveling, health regen comes from food, plus magic and potions can poison you and eventually kill you if you use too much. It's fully voice acted, and even has its own novel. It's really, REALLY good. But it can only be played on PC with either the original 2011 Skyrim, or the Legendary Edition. It's not compatible with Special Edition unfortunately.
  18. Emet-Selch has some really cool lines: "I... will... not.. yield... Should I surrender this fight, what will become of it all..? What will become of our triumphs? Our hopes? Our... our despair? What of this anguish which yet burns in my breast even after the passing of eons? No, No, No! I will not let it all be for naught!" "Show me your "vaunted" strength. And I shall expose the lie of your fragmented existence! You are destined for naught else but oblivion!" "Give voice to your anguish my brethren! Give substance to our hopes, our dreams, our prayers...and by their undeniable grace, may our perfect world rise anew! Yawn wide, the ever hungering void!" "I am stifled by this vessel of flesh. Unburden your sleeping souls my brethren. I shall bear every hope, every dream, every prayer! The future of this star shall be shaped by my hands! I shall be raised up by the prayers of my fallen brethren!" "Behold, a sorcerer of eld! Tremble before my glory!" "Darkness flow through me! Hearken to the word of ruin! Drown in despair! My dormant brethren, dream now of a dark tomorrow...by our gathered might must we reclaim these vain reflections. In Zodiark's name I beseech you!" Titan (Edensgate Version): From the heart of a mountain, I rise. Tempered in the flows of the mountains core, my rage is eternal! There is no salvation for the sons of man! I am unbreakable, unstoppable! Bow down, overdwellers!
  19. The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch. I really, REALLY love fantasy heist novels and if anyone has any recommendations for more like Locke Lamora or Mistborn please tell me. I felt like this one had way too much padding. I mean it was still good, but too much of it was just Perrin not doing much of anything until the end. Crossroads of Twilight and Knife of Dreams are great though. And of course the last 3 books by Brandon are pretty good too (Androl anyone?)
  20. Playing Shadowbringers and finally got my Dancer to level 80! Gonna do the new Eden (FFVIII) raid after work tonight.
  21. Ok so I've had sufficient time to play Shadowbringers (but not Eden Raid yet because I work late tonight ;-; ). This expansion has been phenomenal. Probably the best expansion I've ever played in any mmo, possibly one of the best Final Fantasy stories ever. The story was amazing, the cast unforgettable, and the music...Soken nailed the music. Almost every single track is just wonderful, especially final boss theme and the Raka'tika Greatwood overworld theme (which is so good it's a meme). And yes Emet-Selch is amazing. Better than Ardyn though. And I really love Dancer. They shred through adds, and their buffs are really nice too. All the memes made for this expansion are pretty funny too. This one made me laugh so hard I cried:
  22. Massive Shadowbringers spoilers, but if you don't care and like Final Fantasy VIII listen because this theme is god-tier.
  23. Playing more FFXIV getting ready for Shadowbringers. Mostly cleaning out all of my retainers inventories, along with my own. I have so much junk haha. Also I made an awesome new Samurai glam:
  24. Ah I forgot that was a thing haha. Well you should still be able to recover/reset your password through Mogstation.
  25. Sorry for double posting but I just saw this and did you buy the game for PC or did you buy it on PS4? Because if you want to play on PS4 you need to register the product key to that. If you registered it for PC and want to play on PS4 you have to buy the game again. This is what mine looks like on Mogstation for a general idea. You can see the PS4 section is all marked as license obtained. So you'll want to check that first to make certain. Also your XIV account (that is your username and password to log into the game) is exactly the same as your Mogstation account so if you forgot your password you should be able to reset it through Mogstation.
