    Oh true.

On that note, I did actually think of another insane plan to still have PMs, even if TLR is killed.

Ciphers. Everyone would exchange a cipher code with everyone else, and then we could post PM messages in the thread, but they could only be read by the person with the decode method.
This is obviously completely impossible and would be an absolute mess, but it would theoretically work. :P

Stormfather! This is the most stupid, but also best idea I’ve heard in SE... except for maybe the suicide pact in the last QF.

I agree with this, but not necessarily the order.
I think we vote Reading first, for the WGG, then maybe turtle or aman, as they’re still highly suspicious. I think the gears chain is either an Elim ploy, or maybe they RBer did actually RB gears, but reading was spiked so it didn’t actually matter.

I think a Reading lynch gives us the most info, so reading first.

Yes, but if Reading is TLR and village aligned... I would rather be more sure that they are Spiked before lynching them.

I'm gonna do my first real vote now. I'm not going to post my reasoning, because doing that could backfire very badly.

    Turtle

I don’t know if I agree with this. I think right now Gears would be a better vote. Considering their death could give possible insight into the situation with Reading. Unless of course, you have an amazing reason on why to vote for Turtle.

@Matrim's Dice, can we get another vote count? Thank you!

  4. As promised, here is my post-by-post analysis of @Amanuensis.

    ——————————————————————————————

1). Responds to my poke. Points out the flaws in Flying’s plan, shows how elims could easily get free mislynches. Null
2). Agrees with TJ, which I also did (except the part about me, of course). Says he’d be willing to vote for me, but doesn’t since I was offline. Doesn’t read Whisper as an immediate village. Votes for Illwei, though I don’t think he ended the cycle voting for him. Illwei flipping village makes this just a tiny bit suspicious, but since he didn’t end up voting for him, it gives him an alibi. Very IKYK, but still gives me Slight Elim vibes.
3). Nothing really important here. Responds to me and Whyspers votes. States they feel uncomfortable with the Illwei lynch. This rings bells. Very easy for a elim to vote for someone, but when more people join the vote and that person flips village, if they were seen as starting it, they’ll get a lot of bad reads. Seems a lot like an elim trying to distance themselves from the most likely lynch. As leads me to believe that there could’ve been at least one other elim voting for Illwei last cycle. Elim
4). Responds more in depth to Whypsers vote. Looks like he wanted to maybe turn a lynch around onto Whysper. Nothing too suspicious, but maybe worth looking into. It’s the most village thing I’ve seen from him so far. Slight Village
5). In answer to your question: Distancing for later cycles. This happens all the time, I’ve even done it as an elim I think. Slight Elim
6). Joins the vote on Bearer. Null. I would’ve done the same probably, as it did seem odd.
7). Ask Quinn if they have suspicions. Null
8). States their displeasure at last minute lynch. Very Slight Village
9). Says they’d rather be lynched than a new player. This is either extremely village, or an elim trying to gain lots of village credit. Considering that it’s very IKYK, I’ll put it as Null, but leaning Elim from previous posts.
10). Votes for me and asks why I didn’t say anything about the lynch. There wasn’t really much to be said except for Illwei’s questionable vote. Also, I think at the time I posted there was only about an hour left or so. Any argument I could’ve made would’ve been in vain. I also generally don’t like to have a lot of discussion EoD, because it can lead to people getting lynched while they can’t defend themselves. Which form personal experience, I hate. This reads to me like an elim trying to find some reason to vote for someone who’s suspicious of them. Slight Elim
11). Says they’ve received a PM about who was roleblocked. Doesn’t vote for them, but gives good reason not to. Slight Village
    12). Responds to Fadran. Null
13). Says villagers need to be contributing, but by this logic, shouldn’t I be a villager? Seems hypocritical of him that he said this, but then wants to lynch me when I’ve been contributing quite decently. Elim
14). Claims it should be obvious that they aren’t an elim. Though, from my reads, there seems to be a lot of things that could be indicative of him being an elim. Talks about votes cycle one, makes a good point. Doesn’t convince me that he’s village though. Null
15). You also just proved my point. My pulling the Kandra stunt, did you not put your life up carelessly? It could’ve just as easily ended up with you dying immediately. You contradict yourself here. Very Elim

    ————————————————————————————————

Well, in the time I wrote this, all this stuff with Gears happened. I’ll put my vote on Gears too, because I’ve also gotten two PM’s saying that he was roleblocked. I still suggest we lynch Aman at least by the next cycle. After that, Turtle would be another good option.

    EDIT;

ninja’d by Whysper . Who also made another point that I tried but most likely failed to make.

This feels like fearmongering, which is one of the reasons I stopped playing in the first place :( I understand why you may feel the need to double down on me, Ventyl, since you're on your way to being lynched, but it should be fairly obvious that I'm not an eliminator.

If I was an eliminator, I would have kept my vote on Illwei or Bearing for self-preservation's sake. I did not realize Bearing was a new player, but once that became apparent, I decided to sacrifice myself to keep them alive. Not to mention that no one attempted to save my life; only illwei changed their vote, who was proven a villager, and Somebody, who was voting for me initially.

Sorry, but I’ve been extremely cautious about stuff like this since LG56. And my intent was not to fear-monger, sorry that it came off that way.

    —————————————————————————————————

You make a good point, but I have no other elim read than you. Unless you account for the person who has been said to be roleblocked from two different people. If we all agree on the same person, I would be interested in moving the lynch to them instead of you. Until then however, I will continue to push for you lynch.

Considering I would not like to die, please remove your votes on me. I have stated why I’ve voted as I’ve had, and I would like you all to consider something; Aman is a very, very good elim. Look towards LG56 (I think), to understand what I mean. He is extremely good at manipulating the lynch, even without actions. For this reason alone, I’m always wary with him. And what he is doing right now is giving me similar vibes to the game where I was terribly pocketed by him.

Danex, I’m willing to let you live. I’ve looked back through Cycle One, and I’ve seen some interesting things from Aman in hindsight. I’ll put up a post-by-post analysis of him if I have time later today.

    Danex (1): Flyingbooks42
    Quinn0928 (1): JesterLavorre

    Amanuensis (1): Ventyl

Well that was certainly an eventful cycle. Knowing that yesterday's lynch was a V/V between myself an illwei, I'm a bit suspicious of people that were present at EoD and didn't vote. More so, I'm surprised that Ventyl was present enough to comment on Illwei's voting for Vapor, but not enough to remove his poke vote off of me, let alone comment on the lynch at all.

I didn’t see a need to remove it, mainly because I am suspicious of you.

    EDIT;

@Matrim's Dice, can we get a vote count?

  8. 2 hours ago, Danex said:

    The Elims obviously. :P

Also, changing my vote to Ventyl. Somebody made some ok points in PM. I’m still suspicious of them, but they removed enough suspicion for me to remove my vote.

Also also, Matrim, do you want us to green out old votes if we’re doing a new vote in the same post? Straw didn’t need us to in LG71, but every GM is different.

Why are you voting me? Because I agreed with Books? I wouldn’t call what I did bandwagoning, considering I also made my own arguments against the plan. Or well, more I just pointed out one more flaw.

Also, did @Somebody from Sel make points as to why not to lynch them in the PM, or why to lynch me? A combination of both?

    EDIT:

I’m going to sleep now, so don’t do anything too exciting while I’m gone. :P

  9. Danex, I’m willing to vote you out here. However much I like crazy and outrageous plans like yours, I can’t deny the point that Books made. It’s too exploitable. Also, if you really did send a PM to Books, even after they said that the plan wouldn’t work, why?

    1 minute ago, eltruT said:

Yes, but if each of us gets multiple PMs stating the same person and one that is different, it’s quite obvious which chain has been tampered with. I think the chain was a good idea.

Though, if all of the elims send the same person, then what?

Lynch discussion! This post sounds really off to me. Ventyl has been here for a while, and presumably been a part of D1 Lynch/No Lynch discussion already. This feels like an attempt to pocket Books. But Ventyl told he'll be busy today and not to vote him out when he wasn't there so.. I don't really have something as suspicious as this. @Ventyl, come online so I can vote for you. :P

Okay, well I could just not come back online... but it’s a little late for that.

    —————————————————————————————————

May I ask, why does my post sound off to you? Was I not clear in what I was trying to say? If so I’ll clarify. What I meant was that in my first game I didn’t really think about the logistics and details of Day One Lynching, I just did it because Striker told me that it was good... So I was trying to complement Books, who as a first time player (I think), is already thinking about this stuff.

And no, I’m not trying to pocket him. I mean logically, if I was an elim, would I really do it in such an obvious way? I’d like to think I’m a lot more sneakier than that. Maybe @Matrim's Dice can confirm. :P

Pretty much agree with everything said by TJ here. Regardless of him starting this game voting for me, Ventyl's initial post feels very different from the last game we just played. I probably would join the vote with you if he were here. Maybe tomorrow :P

The reason it feels very different is because this game is in different circumstances. In the QF, I already had a suspicion day one because I wasn’t on until near the end of the first cycle. Whereas here, I was on pretty early and nothing had happened to give me any suspicious. If you go look at most of my games, I usually start them like this. In fact in the QF, my post was only like that because the shard ate my post that would’ve been a more standard Ventyl post.

But if we do lynch someone, then we'll be down, on average, at least a player and four fifths. I think that it would be good to interact as usual but retract votes near the end unless somebody is EXTREMELY suspicious.

This makes sense, but considering most games have some sort of vote manipulation, elims could easily manipulate a vote to still lynch someone. There’s also the fact that some people might not be on at role-over and wouldn’t be able to remove their vote. All-in-all, it just leaves too many openings for mechanical failure.

I applaud you’re ideas through. I know when I was a new player, I definitely didn’t have this many good ideas. :P

edit: ninja’d by Illwei  (storm you, you confusing whatever you profile picture is supposed to be)

  12. Bateaux was no longer bothered my the tattoos that marked his profession. He’d been an obligator some twenty five years now and had been one of the foremost prelans for ten. Unlike over members, he did not hide his face behind a cloak in public. Bateaux did not care what skaa thought of him when they saw him walking the streets. If any did challenge him though, they would easily be dispatched. Bateaux was Seer, he could burn atium and atium alone.

As Bateaux walked through the streets of Luthadel towards his Ministry building, he could feel the gazes of those he passed. He exulted in those gazes. His tattoos were a mark of pride. Though, as he spotted another obligator, whom was wearing a hood, his mood soured. Tensions had been rising in the Steel Ministry for years now. The Inquisitors were becoming more and more bold with the advances for power. It’d finally peaked when they’d murdered Darius.

He strode past the young obligator, who had probably barely even reached womanhood. Bateaux arrived at the Ministry building, it’s architecture a welcome sight to him now. No longer imposing as he’d once thought it was in his younger years, but more like a faithful guardian. Much like the Lord Ruler himself.

Alright, so nothing has really happened. Besides what happens in every game basically; Mist stabvotes someone (Though now they’re Fadren. Welcome!), Gears gives game analysis, and Illwei continues to confuse me. :P

I’ll start of with @Amanuensis. Amanuensis

Give me a three page essay about why I should trust you :). Or maybe just three paragraphs...

    —————————————————————————————

    P.S.
I won’t be on for most of tomorrow as I have a marching band competition. It’ll take up almost all day so... please don’t vote me out while I’m gone! I mean, my rank is literally “Prelan,” if that doesn’t exude innocence, then I don’t know what does. :P

    This, this is peak comedy.

I’d like to add to the Hive-Mind Death Hornet canon: They are Hemalurgically spiked and have access to Feruchemical Speed, Weight, and Strength. So they each have three pewter spikes. :)

  14. Here’s mine from Dawnshard, so beware of spoilers.

    Original:

    Spoiler

“Stormfather,” Lopen whispered. “I just want people to be happy. That’s what I try to do. Make them smile.”
    Rua nodded again, solemn.
Lopen felt a sudden sharp pain in his breast, accompanied by shamespren sprinkling around him like red flower petals. It threatened to spread, to encompass him. It made him want to curl up and never say another word. Maybe they’d like that. A quiet Lopen.
Storm it, he thought. No. No, I gotta take this like Bridge Four. Arrow straight to the heart, but I can pull it out and heal. Huio could have held the truth back, laughed everything off. But he’d trusted Lopen with this wound.
“I’ll do it, then,” Lopen said, standing up. “I’ve got to protect people, you know? Even from myself. Gotta rededicate to being the best Lopen possible. A better, improved, extra-incredible Lopen.”
Rua lifted his hand into the air in a fist. Then the little spren toppled over to the side.
“Rua?” Lopen said, leaning down. “You playing a trick on me, naco?”
Rua vanished. Then a silvery little dagger appeared in his place. What on Roshar? Lopen picked it up. It was physical, not insubstantial.

    Translated:

    Spoiler

"Brother, it's raining a lot," Lupine whispered.  I want people to be happy.  That is what I want to do.  Smile at them.  '
The king also collected the money.
Lupine has a heart condition that affects her like red grass.  She threatens to kill him.  That is why he does not want to talk anymore.  Perhaps they want a quieter space.
He thought he was going to fight him.  No, I'm going to make it four beds.  I keep the treasure in my heart, but I will take it away.  Maybe they block the truth and laugh about everything.  But it depends on Lupine for the wound.
"Then I'll do it," Lupine stood up and said.  "I have to protect people, at least myself. I have to focus on being the best. The best, the best, the best."
Loa raised her hands and arms in the air.  Then a small pipe fell to the side.
"Money?"  Lupine went downstairs to speak.  "Do you believe me?"
Loa is gone.  Then a small silver knife appeared in its position.  What will happen to Rosar?  Lupine is interested.  It’s natural, it doesn’t matter.
