If one person so much as asks me how my day is going, I'm through! Spock thought, those guys sent me here to find it--without telling me exactly what the 'it' is...

    Hey guys, I'm back! :D 

    Status Update: I'm headed to Brigham Young University - Idaho for Fall 2020, studying Mechanical Engineering! I'm super excited for college!

    Regarding Piano, while I'm not going to be a piano major, I will have access to a piano and plan on using it ;). I am continuing to write the sheet music for what I'm working on and hope to post that asap. For the last couple years I've been making a 'video journal' of most of the piano stuff I've done. I've done this using instagram and have shared it with my closest friends and family, though I've started making a Just Playin' series where I post a pattern or new thing that I... just play. :)

    Hello everyone! Thank you for all the amazing feedback! I haven't been to the shard in far too long a time... Update for sheet music @FriarFritz @Cynicalwindmill @GoWibble @Trentolio @Truthwatch3r @Matrim's Dice @Experience, I typically start on it once I am finished, but it seems that many are interested in having it as soon as possible so my goal is to post whatever I have for "The Wind's Pleasure" by this Saturday. (Meaning, I'm saying this so I get it done, so feel free to message me and hound me to get it done ) @BringerOfLight yes, I've considered writing for Hoid's stories. What holds me back is that I don't want to create a piece that wouldn't match nor live up to the stories, I feel I'm not quite ready for that... As for the different instruments, I can play the piano but nothing else really. Though I currently have an electric keyboard, and I could make it a flute, I guess... @FriarFritz I written a lot of little things; a pattern here, a pattern there...     If anyone is wondering why I haven't posted more music, I am currently without a piano in my home. This isn't a big problem for most, but for those pianists who are used to playing, practicing, or--quite frankly--"messing around" (like me :) ) on the piano daily, you know that it is depressing not to be able to play for extended periods of time... 

    But don't lose hope! I excitedly await the end of the month where I could (possibly) get my hands on a keyboard! :D

      For a pianist of any experience, not having a piano to play is an incomprehensible itch that slowly gnaws away at the emotional well-being of the soul--much like the effects of a small mountain stream cutting its way to the lowest point of reference.. (sorry, I was feeling poetic...)

    Thank you so much, @Channelknight Fadran! No one has asked if they could hire me for playing piano... I'm glad you appreciate the piece! I saw your post on Cosmere music--I'm in! I'd love to join in on making wholesome pieces of music, I love the idea musicians coming together to make and critique each others music! Let's do it!     @Nameless To me, it feels almost like a 'pirate' song--and I tried to make the music mimic waves! (you can see them if you try hard enough). And yes, I played it. Thank you! @EXPERIENCE This is still in my "rough draft" stage, so sorry--no music yet. But I'll try and write it down soon. I usually write it into Musescore (a sheet music program where you can make a share scores) while playing small sections on a piano, but I probably won't get that done until I have access to a piano again (sooner than later, hopefully).

    Thank you all for your insightful feedback! It means more than you think! This recording was taken in late January of 2019, so I've done quite a bit of work on it. First off, I didn't like how I ended--even when I recorded it then. So, @Xavier Iriarte @Silva and @Channelknight Fadran, I'm pleased to say that I'm not including that part. Second, I changed the intro and made it get into the song faster (if that makes sense). I've also added a new pattern, one that eventually turned into the "Wind's pleasure". I would record it again, but I currently do not have access to a piano electric or otherwise. But fear not! It is likely I'll have access to one before the month is out! (Yay!) PLEASE keep writing your thoughts about the music! I'd like to create a piece that reflects best the life and story of Shallan Davar! Thank you, and more recordings coming! (Hopefully soon!)

    Thank you @Silva! I have the same feelings, the end just doesn't fit! (Though, again, I'm not a music expert) Though I decided to record the whole thing anyway... As for grain of salt, I will actually have to politely decline the recommendation, as I wouldn't want to grow salty... (I have way too much salt in my food when it's cooked anyway...)

    Hello everyone! This is a composition that I've been working on for a while, it is based of the character Shallan. This is my second composition (and I have no idea what I'm doing) and I'm looking for feedback. Shallan's Theme is different than Tien's (which I wrote previously) in that I had a LOT of drafts before I posted it. Shallan is, right now, a jumbled mess of patterns (no pun intended) that I stitched together and called a 'song'. It is a concept, subject to change. Please feel free to give any feedback that you think is necessary, I really appreciate it.     I have read Oathbringer, but it has been a while and my mind is still recovering from being blown multiple times... I will definitely read that again! Meanwhile, I thought I might reach out to the forums during my composition process for "Shallan's theme".     I should be finished with my rough draft for Shallan's song within the first quarter of 2019. I think a song for Venli would be fun, and I'll experiment in the meantime. It would be helpful, as I'm not as familiar with Venli, if you guys pointed out specific moments in Venli's story that I could look deeper into for the song to reflect... Thank you!

I've started one for Shallan, but I find it sounding a lot like Tien's song. I might post my patterns for her song on the forums, but meanwhile, what other character would you guys like to hear songs for?

    Well, I've read Elantris, the Reckoners, Stormlight, both Mistborn trilogy's, and Warbreaker. Choosing a favorite is hard, but my top three (not in any particular order) are Stormlight, The Reckoners, and the Mistborns. It's hard to choose a favorite. As for character, I really like Tien (from Stormlight) and I even put together a piece which is in "The Cosmere > Stormlight Archive > Tien's Song"

    @StrikerEZ Thank you! When I play this piece, I imagine Tien's story from beginning to end---I see scenes (some that aren't described in the book) like him and Kal running through fields, fencing with sticks... I tried to retell that story in my head. I'm glad you connected with the music and felt something similar to what I was feeling!! @Ookla the Paragon Thanks for posting the link, I appreciate it!!
