This is one of the greatest things ever. 

I've been watching YouTube videos for a very long time today. And yesterday. And for a few days. It's the perfect mix of humor, nerdiness, and inspirational, and it's exactly what I need right now.

Go check out vlogbrothers on YouTube. It's John and Hank Green, by the way. I've listened/read stuff by John Green for quite a while (my history teacher this year is a fan of Crash Course, too), and I don't know how I have missed all this other stuff.

I joined at 9:48 pm, exactly two years ago, so I’m a bit late

it appears that I have some words 

Okay.

So.

I just finished watching The Martian.

Holy crap that was good and I hate movies like that. (The definition of "what is the worst possible thing i can do to this character").

But it was good.

And it reminded me why I'm terrified of space.

I have three major fears, all of which are very abstract. Population growth (which I've been discussing a lot lately), global warming, and space. Well, something going wrong in space. (I used to want to be an astronomer, until I learned that involved math. So then I wanted to be an astronaut. Until I learned how blasted terrifying it is.)

In other words I don't trust humanity. 

Yep.

Good movie, though.

Hi ya'll! I was perusing the shard today and I thought I would just let you all know that I'm doing fine, still alive and all that. I was quoted a few times, so it's good to know that I haven't been forgotten . Life is still busy. School/homework has always taken up a lot of my time, and I think it'll be a while before things smooth out.

I finally introduced my aunt Cassy to the cosmere though, and I've been meaning to make a thread about the experience, I just haven't found the time. To give you all a little preview, here's my favorite part of the whole conversation (I was very proud of myself for using this quote):
