  1. Nerdfighters are people who, instead of being made out of bones and skin and organs and stuff, are made entirely out of awesome. They seek to reduce world suck in the funnest ways possible by running massive charity events and things like that. There are too many in-jokes to name. Go to youtube.com/vlogbrothers to get the lowdown on things.
  2. Duralumin charged Sliding!
  3. That be so, eh? Well, despite our herbivorous lifestyle, we, the most buccaneerish of all llamas, will make an exception for monkey brain stew! Also, epic music. A must in these situations.
  4. I, Captain of the Pirate Llamas, will sink yer scurvy, primate hides to Davy Jones locker! And not the Davy Jones from the Monkees, cuz you might like that and I don't want that!
  5. The second one. But if you already have a Smedry talent then good for you!
  6. Artistic license!
  7. I've been flitting around adding important snippets about different people. The ones I can remember anyway. Which basically amounts to WoK, since it's the one most fresh in my memory.
  8. Wonderful! Now I have someone to blame when I screw it up! Uh, I mean ask for advice! She has so much sage wisdom, it would be a waste not to seek it out. BTW, I tried linking to Elhokar's page but it wouldn't work. Apparently, the name is misspelled on the character page. Is there any way to fix this?
  9. Love the tiny beards, Ryan. And it seems that Kaladin does the splits during his jumping.
  10. For one, I don't think Hoid would call people old reptiles. We saw how eloquent he was as Wit, with those carefully-crafted insults designed to get under peoples' skins. Would someone that eloquent and masterful with his insults lower himself to call someone just an old reptile? Also, might Hoid be the one with an insistence on nonintervention? We haven't really seen him intervene in a grand way, have we? An insult doesn't have to be well crafted to get under someone's skin. Some people are VERY sensitive about their age. Hoid has gotten himself pretty involved. Guiding the Terrismen in WoA, helping the people in the abandoned villages in Elantris, becoming an informant in TFE and HoA, a storyteller in WB, and, this is the big one, becoming pretty involved in court politics as Wit. He's been doing stuff, a lot of stuff, just not interacting with the characters we've followed to a great extent except for Dalinar. And I'm of the opinion he took a Lerasium bead, so there's that too.
  11. I got the impression from the Prelude that Thunderclasts were made out of stone and were formed from it by some kind of magic.
  12. Definitely, but it might take awhile, seeing as nobody around her knows a thing about it.
  13. Neither am I, I just call myself a Nerdfight cuz it seemed to fit. I haven't even read any of John's books (too focused on Brandon's!) or looked at Hank's Ecogeek website (sounds a little too preachy for my tastes). I actually sent in a picture for John's newest birthday montage and they actually put me in there! It was awesome, except that the picture kinda sucks. Look for a smiley face made of mustard, it's a poorly executed pun, and you'll see me.
  14. Well, if the Elantrians happen to be Splinters, using Aona's power directly after her death, than Odium would probably have a reason to decimate them.
  15. Would you want others to do this for the rest of the books? I'd be willing to do this for Mistborn, Elantris or Warbreaker. Though I'd love to do it for Mistborn (it's my favorite ).
  16. You could pull off some Matrix type stuff with that. Well, until the bullets get inside your bubble and shoot ya dead. The next question about these should be whether or not a Pulser/Slider can adjust the size/shape of their bubble. That'd be good. If you can bring it in close around you being a Slider would be just SO cool.
  17. Well, we know that the Shardblades and Plate have only been around since the founding of the Knights Radiant (assumably), but I'm thinking the Nightwatcher was around from the foundations of Roshar, thus making it Older magic, compared other things we've seen. It can still be Shard based, but it's all about timing. It's like Feruchemy and Hemalurgy. Feruchemy has been around as long as humans have and Hemalurgy has possibly been that long, but Hemalurgy wasn't used until TLR's reign because no one knew about it.
  18. Once the Warbreaker sequel hits that would seem like a good thing to run with. Brandon just has a knack for crafting RPable worlds, it's so great.
  19. I actually have this really cool dynamic in mind between two concerning her Feruchemy. As a result of his Hemalurgy, he sometimes has these cold flashes (more psychological than anything) and the one metalmind she actually has is a brass chain necklace with a small gold bead on the end. She instinctively taps brass when she's cold, and I'm thinking that that'll come together with his cold flashes as a sort of comfort thing. It's a little strange but it's all warm and fuzzy in my mind.
  20. Wouldn't it be funny if all of the main characters in WoK got shuffled to being interludes for book 2? That'd be hilarious. ;D I'd actually think that we'll probably get either Shallan, Dalinar or Szeth as the main for book 2 with a character we either know and haven't gotten a viewpoint from yet (like Jasnah) or someone we haven't met yet, but will meet in book 2, for 3. Or we might skip over the main three besides Kaladin from WoK and skip straight to someone like Jasnah.
  21. Just looked it up and you are correct, sir! Extra awesome points for you! Agreed. Heh. There's a reason for this. Might that reason be that it is, in fact, an extended epilogue? I can see it now... "Brandon, your epilogue is 40 pages long." "Yep." "Could you disguise some of it as a fifth section, and maybe make that last bit the epilogue?" "...Okay fine." Heehee.
  22. When I asked him about it, the example he used was that, if there's a guy about to shoot you, you could burn bendalloy and speed up, thus making everything outside the circle slow down so you can get out of the way before he even shoots. Or you could get a guy in the bubble with you when you burn cadmium, slowing things down, and have your teammates outside the circle maneuver while you've got the guy or guys in slowed in the bubble with you.
  23. This wouldn't happen to be a TV Tropes reference, would it? Cuz if it is, you are now amazingly cool in my book now. If not, I'm sorry, you'll have to find another way in.I loved this book so much. This one sticks out above the rest of Brandon's books as the first one to make me cry. *SPOILER* (Poor Tien! *SOB*) */SPOILER* So many amazing characters, jaw dropping magics, surprising but inevitable twists, and Awesome Moments of Crowning numbering too many to count. (I'll probably do a better one of these after I reread it.)
  24. What I thought about the Shadesmar mirroring Roshar was that this was just a part of the Shadesmar, and in fact, it mirrors everywhere, even other planets. I'm assuming traveling in the Shadesmar is easier than traveling in the normal world (Jasnah hovering on a raft made of spheres?) and that would make it so that Hoid can planethop. Shadesmar is just another name for the cognitive realm, right? I thought somebody said that somewhere.
  25. That's true. In fact, all of the Allomancy done in Mistborn takes place within a few hundred miles of the Well of Ascension, that could have a similar relationship to the magic that Elantris has to AonDor. I hope not, though. I can't help but wish for a Vin versus Szeth battle.
