  1. Why do all the best men have to be fictional?!
  2. I have read Warbreaker. I'm currently on Elantris at the moment. I'm honestly interested in any writing with Hoid in it. I just came across "The Letters" on Coppermind and now want to devour all writings with Hoid in it. RP is a little intimidating to me at the moment. Maybe eventually @Booksmith My only regret with starting SA first was that I didn't realize what else was involved as far as the Cosmere. I read, or listened actually, to the series twice after I figured out and started reading about the Cosmere. Certain parts made much more sense.
  3. I know I've seen a lot of Harry Potter references but I also like to consider myself an OG Potterhead. 11 year old me gets to grandma's house after school one day and she has this book for me. She continues to tell me that she heard about this new book on an AM radio station she listens to, so she went to the library to get it for me. This was obviously before the crazy wait lists and midnight releases. I ended up reading Sorcerer's Stone in one night underneath my blanket with a flashlight! My obsession only grew worse as I got older. I'd say I'm a Dumbledore in the Harry Potter fandom. I can't seem to find a good fan forum besides Pottermore if anyone has suggestions! After being on this forum for about a week I've realized I am only a squire in my Cosmere knowledge! The Coppermind has opened my eyes and I have found myself completely lost on that site numerous times!
  4. As Pattern so eloquently put it "NO MATING!" If only we could find Kaladin a nice girl now. Welcome! What's your favorite SA book so far?
  5. I think what best means in this place varies for each person. Best could be kindest, most formidable as you said, funniest, combination there of. Whatever you perceive as best. Let's be honest. That thing that Adolin did, had to be done and I'm glad it was Adolin. Everyone else would have had some sort of existential crisis over it! Except maybe Jasnah which brings me to my next observation of your comparison @Quantus. Jasnah is totally the Batman of the group and would kick everyone's rump in a battle of wits, strength and skill but Navani is still my version of best. I mean her fabrials to begin with! So subtle you don't even see it coming! Edited to add... Dalinar and Jasnah are neck and neck in the lead!
  6. I have the first 3 SA audio books but I've read everything else. I thoroughly enjoy Michael Kramer's and Kate Reading's narration. They're fantastic! I listened to samples of the graphic audio adaptations and didn't really like it. I guess I like my audio books traditional. I have an hour commute to and from work and Audible is the only thing that keeps me sane and from flying into a rage during rush hour!
  7. So many un written rules here! I feel like I'm at a blackjack table! I'll never make that faux pas again!
  8. I think Rysn in SA is pretty undervalued. I always loved her interludes and I hope her and her little Larkin, Chiri Chiri, are featured more in the books to come! I even think she could become a radiant too!
  9. Thanks @Archer for unraveling this cookie conspiracy for me. I'll make sure to be wary of any persons/beings offering baked goods!
  10. Poor Elhokar. He can't even win against his uncle on a poll! My favorite is Navani. She plays by her own rules in the Alethi court and is subtle in her own manipulations. She has a knack for making people do what she wants but think it was their idea!
  11. I think Vasher's viewpoints are my favorite. Especially when the sassy Nightblood is involved! I was not a huge fan of Vivenna. She seemed too whiney and judgemental to me.
  12. Can someone kindly explain the deal with the cookies? Still new here and haven't been able to figure it out!
  13. @Kelkamer I see that you are new as well. Welcome! I'll probably read Wax and Wayned after I finish Elantris. White Sand is a comic? I didn't know that. I always seem to have a hard time with graphic novels. Maybe I'll save that for last.
  14. I use this for all the Sanderson related sites I've recently joined. I wanted something relating to SA, as it's my favorite of his books and Samantha is my first name hence BrightnessSamantha. Helps that I have blue eyes but have blonde hair like the Riran. I was actually very surprised it wasn't already taken!
  15. I got Truthwatcher which fits well for me! Great job on the quiz!
  16. @LevenThumps I think Oathbringer for me has been my favorite so far. I really like the audible version of it. Michael Kramer and Kate Reading do a fantastic job on the series!
  17. @I think I am here. What is Steelheart about? I haven't read it yet. Is it a Cosmere novel?
  18. @LevenThumps Totally agree! My grandma got me started on it. She heard about it on an AM radio station and borrowed Sorcerer's Stone from our local library for me! This was obviously before there were astronomical wait lists for the books! What's your favorite Brandon Sanderson novel?
  19. Well, it's a bit convoluted but I recently moved and gained an hour for my commute to work. I did a trial with Audible to see if I would like it for my commute. Audible versions are always cheaper when you own the kindle version. I read the first SA book so long ago I completely forget that I had ever read it! The first SA book was my trial run for audible and ended up getting all 3 eventually. I'll get the actual books one day to add to my collection.
  20. @I think I am here. I am a born and bred Potterhead since the US release in the 90s!! Brandon has quickly become a favorite fantasy writer of mine and it has become my personal goal to read everything he has written! @LevenThumps I will eventually read the next Mistborn trilogy. I just needed a Mistborn break after reading the first trilogy in one go! I have Arcanum Unbound. I got it for the Lift novella in it but don't want to read the rest until I read the rest of the books that the novella's are related to.
  21. Greetings friends of the Cosmere! I started my journey by reading the Stormlight Archives and quickly became obsessed. I looked at Brandon Sanderson's website and found that it was full of all sorts of books and wonders in the Cosmere. That quickly led me to read the first Mistborn trilogy, Warbreaker, and I have just recently started Elantris. Besides The Emperor's Soul (which, I believe, is a novella anyways) what should I read next??
