  1. I'll just leave my mobile at home when I step through the door and bring a friendly jellyfish.
  2. Don't worry about it! You are a great person and I honestly don't care about your gender, I care about you.
  3. I'll fly to America in four weeks with a good friend of mine to visit another sharder. Call me crazy, but I'm really doing this. And I'm incredibly excited to finally chat in real instead of hours on discord.
  4. Hello and welcome! It's great that you found your way here! Who is your favourite character?
  5. Hello, and welcome to the shard! If you could choose one kind of investiture for yourself, which one would you choose?
  6. Do you want to update his character sheet, or is it the same?
  7. Sagitta closed her eyes and then lowered her arms, when the Price destroyed the knife. Pressing her hands together to hide their shaking she nodded at the two of them. "Thank you." For being good enough people that you didn't kill me right here and right now. She took a limping step towards the carriage considered going back to sleep. In the end her exhaustion won over her urge to take the safe path. "Wake me when it's my watch." She asked him, although it was most likely soon, too soon. Still she was tired, so tired that she had a bad taste in her mouth and her eyes hurt. Slowly she climbed back into the carriage, then turned around looked outside at the sky again. Sitting down she burried her face in her hands, then almost hastily left the carriage on the other side, hid from them for a moment. She pressed a hand against her face and started to sob quietly. She doubted she could muffle all sounds, but she could try, and she needed to try. Exhaustion made her sit down and she shook with her sobs when it all became too much. She wanted to go back, back to her line, when all thoughts of a different way, of peace had been like a far away dream, like something she would never be able to grasp or see. When she had been fine with killing for her country, when the nomads had been enemies she hated. Price and Zura were like a mirror of herself, although she doubted she would have left it at a harmless discussion. Had there been a nomad, she would have killed him on sight. And been proud of it. Disgusted by herself, because they were right, because she was simply the lucky one whose enemy wasn't here, because her own words had struck too close to the truth of her own actions, she hit the ground, once twice. To see the way their faces twisted around the hate hurt, how they believed in the same rules she did. That fighting for your country was an excuse for bad behaviour while you condemned your enemy when he did the same. She had forced them to face it, and at the same time she had ripped herself apart when they had called her bluff, when they had taken the knife. When suddenly it wasn't about her, but about them actively deciding to let their enemy live. Strength. Such strength. More than she had herself. But it was only one part, the memories of weeks as a prisoner kept crawling back, now that she was alone in the darkness, the memories how they'd talked to her in a language she didn't understand, how they'd asked her questions again and again, how she never had been able to reply in a way that satisfied him. That point when she would have sold her family, only to have them stop, to be allowed to sleep again, to eat again. To be free again. She was exhausted, bone deep exhausting and the last thing she'd needed was a discussion, a reflection of her deeds, of her actions. She knew deep down, that she was wrong, had always been wrong. That they needed peace. How he'd touched her, stolen her her armour and her weapon. Intruded into her life and ripped it apart. Sagitta curled up on the ground, when it all became to much, when she couldn't go on anymore. She'd always prided herself on being strong and selfconfident, but she had crossed a border, had crossed it days ago. Price and his stories about the prisons, about some of his colleagues had hit her more than she had shown, torture, again torture. She trusted him, had to trust him to keep it away from her, but for now. Her thoughts were so muddled by her exhaustion that she realized how she stopped thinking at one point, filled by a nameless dread and the feeling of being overhelmed. Tomorrow, she had to be fit enough tomorrow to walk, but for now she couldn't. She wanted to go home, to her parents, wanted to leave all of this behind. Forget. Fall into oblivion and forget all of it.
  8. Temeria followed him upstairs, without leaving her cloak or backpack behind. He hadn't offered, so most likely it was some kind of unknown tradition. His friendly and welcoming words warmed her and she found herself relieved that she found this place. He even offered to answer questions. Alleyverse. What a strange name. She needed to find out who held the power here, what weapons were used. "I am sorry, but I doubt that I'll be able to pay you." She considered to talk about Nalthis and Roshar, but then discarded the thought. Last time she had and immediatly everybody thought of her as crazy. So keeping quiet was most likely the better idea. Or was it? Maybe it was better to play with open cards. Maybe he knew about a way home. She wasn't sure. "I need to exchange my money first." She finally said after a pause and curiously looked around. The building was strange, different from any she'd seen so far. Just like the whole city looked foreign, threatening. Falling silent for a moment she considered his last words, and then finally decided to go with the truth. Or at least a version that might be easier to understand. He seemed like a decent fellow, she could trust him. "I am from a place, far away from here. One day I accidently ended up ...." how to describe a portal, "on a ship and woke up in a new country. I lived there for years, until I saw the merchants again. I hoped, that they were travelling home, but instead I ended up here. They left me close to one of the market places, at least I think it was a market place. There were so many carriages without horses, moving incredibly fast - It wasn't really my plan to come here, neither for the city, not for the people. Although I don't doubt, that it's beautiful to those that are used to it." @MacThorstenson
  9. Shana took a moment, then she hugged him back, held on tightly. "Of course I'll help. This is great news. I am so happy for you two." She smiled, then laughed. "I don't have a dress. But I suppose you already knew that. I will talk to Leona in a moment, I need to talk to Cassie first, get something sorted it. It won't be more than half an hour, but it's crucial."
  10. Shana smiled at Jace, although she didn't feel like smiling at all. "Hey. What did I miss?" She asked him, despite everything, tried to leave her own fear and everything aside for a moment. He needed her, and she wanted to help. @ShadowLord_Lith
  11. Althea nodded, then made a vague gesture with her hands and took a form. She wrote 'Althea Tenira' on the sheet of paper and then added 'Ghostbloods'. She left the power section empty and handed it over to ACE. If they knew who she was, she could save herself the trouble of filling out the rest. "How have you been these last months?" She inquired and noted the Underling walking into the room, who had built the EMP. With a quick gesture of her hand she sent Brashen over to keep an eye on him, then turned her attention back to Karin. Brashen stayed with her, but at least moved, so that he could see the Underling. She didn't react to him staying, they had to talk about that privately.
  12. Shana had stared at Cassie rushing off, then followed slowly, unsure what was going on.
  13. "Yes. Help is what we need right now." Shana nodded. "Let's speak in the kitchen, please?" @Wyndlerunner
  14. Sagitta's breath stopped when Zura took the knife. The woman seemed calm, when her fingers closed around the handle. Sagitta looked at her. Cahayan, Tühine, Ta'e'ilo. Three nations and they all fought. Each in their own way, but they all fought for their country. Zura's muscles tensed and Sagitta prepared for the impacted, for the knife to run through her flesh. Instead Zura only flipped the knife into the air, held it for a moment and then handed it to Price. Relieved she relaxed slightly, turned to Price, slightly spread her arms. She waited for his decision, although she hoped that she knew him better, that he wouldn't kill her to prove his point. If it came down to their arguments, then she was as guilty as everybody else. Killing for your country, she had done that plenty.
  15. I was more thinking along the lines of what Bismark introduced. He'd combined several ones to a larger package. I need to look them up in detail though, I only have a vague memory of what exactly he made and how the rules were. Still iirc they were simplistic and had a notable effect.
  16. "Let's go." Shana nodded and shot a quick smile at Evelyn. "Later. It's not my decision who should know." Apologetically she squeezed her arm. Then turned around. Walking over to Cassie she smiled nervously. "Do you have a moment for me and James. It's important." @AonEne
  17. Interesting. So a new name for this organization. Fine for her. "Althea Tenira. The pleasure is mine." She replied politely and moved to be able to see both her and Wes. Nodding to the questionaire she added: "You filled that out already?" Although she doubted that Karin would write down the truth.
  18. Althea noticed more and more people milling into the room. Most faces she hadn't seen before, but that was fine. She would have to make her own picture of those willing to head into the tunnels. Carefully she had her face remain her usual polite but neutral mask, hid her emotions, her thoughts behind it. She moved slightly away, so that her back faced a wall, without really removing her attention from Wes in front of her. It would be interesting to see if the woman pressed the point about her guild. When someone from ACE, that pointedly failed to tell them his name, adressed them she noticed his eyes resting on her for a moment before moving on. Inwardly she smiled at his attention, knew that she stood out, like an firespren in a strom. ACE would be dumb if they hadn't researched who led the guilds. Well, it most likely would save her some time with the questionaire later. She had no intention to tell them anyting they didn't knew yet. But his little speech made her look up and around and she noticed a familiar face. A woman, sitting at one side of the room. Aylitha. The age was slightly off, from the woman she remembered, but there was no doubt. Probably some effect of the power she had used. But it meant the DA was here as well. No surprise here. In constrast. It would have been strange had they stayed away. After the last time, she doubted anybody would take a new organization lightly. Deliberatetly she rested her eyes on Aylitha for a while, made sure the woman would notice her gaze. @kenod
  19. "What do you think, we should do?" Shana asked slowly and shifted her weight from one leg to the other. He was the bondsmith, he had to know a good way? And if not, then they were most likely screwed.
  20. "But if I was better, then there would be no need for her to pretect herself." Shana sighed, shook her head. "Let's put that aside for now. Cass is more important. I mean we can outright tell her, but I'm not sure if that's the wrong way. We can't keep it secret either." Frustrated but her own indecisiveness, by her inability to protect Cass, her family, she formed a fist and hit the wall next to James. Hard. Sharp pain raced through her arm and she felt alterted by it, although she suspected, that she'd hurt her hand. "We need to play with open cards. I doubt she will forgive us, if we don't." She added her voice slightly pressed when she fought the pain.
  21. Temeria hastily stepped inside, glad to be out of the wind. "Hello." she greeted the man with a smile and looked around, noted the location of possible escape routes. "I was looking for a place to stay for a night or two, maybe longer, that depends on when I can find some work." She replied honestly and hoped that she had found the right house. Not that it would really matter if she hadn't, but she couldn't quite judge the dangers of this world, nor what to keep clear off. There were rumors in the streets, of monsters, of guilds, but nothing to really base her actions on. Rumors were helpful for a start, but what she needed was knowledge, real knowledge. About the weapons, about threats, about the magic they used here. If there was something like that at all. "Ideally I can find someone here willing to answer me some questions, but that is a bonus and no must."
  22. Shana shook her head at his words, cold terror running through her veins. Broke her oath. Ignored the immortal words. "It's not your fault. It's mine. I'm responsible to fight for you guys. If I were stronger, of farther advanced, then she wouldn't have seen the need to ask for this." She said quietly, her voice shaking. It didn't matter in the end. What done was done. She would have to make sure it never happened again. Screw school. She had to train more, had to fight more. Learn how to use a gun. Join a boxing club where they really fought. Anything to get better, to be able to make her stand against everybody who came against them. "She has no idea. She thinks Joy is still there, is alright. We need to tell her, don't we?"
  23. Infuriated. That settled it. If the spren was upset. "She skipped the journey." Shana paled, stared at him in terror. "She got the powers, but she can't see spren. She jumped to the destination." And it was all because of her. Becquse she hadn't been able to convey a feeling of safety. "Tell me I'm wrong."
  24. I can't tell you how excited I am for your reply
  25. "What happened with Cassie?" Shana asked him urgently, moved a hand through her hair and then explained. "She jumped four oaths, can't see spren, and she talked to the Nightwatcher. James, what happened? It doesn't work like this." Her voice stayed quiet, but remained slightly panicked, desperate almost. "You can't just jump oaths? Or can she as a willshaper? What happened?"
