  1. "Okay." Shana agreed. He was right, maybe the marble was a solution, a way. "It would be great if we could find a cure and wouldn't have to kill them." She opened the door of Cassie's car and started to get inside. "All of them try to kill us, but I don't think, that they really are evil, or at least were evil once. Do you remember the poliece officers? How their behaviour changed slightly once they were under the control of the violet stone? Maybe it has something to do with this. Maybe they were all good people and only got corrupted." The thought that they were killing good people instead of bad ones, she shook her head and forced a smile on her face. "It's just so hard to accept that at the moment we don't have a way to change anything about that. That killing them quickly is a mercy."
  2. No, there weren't any changes. The AV is based on Brandon's books and nothing else. (Exemption is WH 40k, which isn't used on anymore and we had a specific vote for that one.) Personally I would prefer if we leave it as it is. With the Epic's there is an easy possibility to play different powersets and for me it's the core of the AV that it's about Brandon's books and not about other things as well.
  3. Take your time and please, don't feel stressed by this! I hope you will sort out your internet problems and have a great start in your new flat despite all of this!
  4. "They do." You inclince you head in agreement. "As far as I know Sancturay will be turned into a city. If it means that they will rip down a part of these houses, or if it means that they will simply extend the area." You lift a hand in a dismissive gesture. "I don't know, and I am not sure if I need to know. It's interesting how many are attracted to this place, if they know about these plans or not and if the plan is set into motion." You lean forward a little, you eyes glittering in the light of the candles. "Just imagine how many will travel to this place if it really turns into a city. A capital. A stronghold. A place of power." Delicately you place the glass down on the counter and gently push down Sloane's drink to him. He hadn't even reached out for it, and it could mean two things. He is waiting for you to get drunk so that he can rob you. Which is possible, but the last time you got drunk that much has been a while. Or he isn't interesting in his drink at all and only drank them to refill his metal reserves. The second one opens up a whole set of new possibilities who he is, why he's here. He radiats this self-assurance you admire, the trait that draws you and makes you talk to a certain type of people. The dangerous ones. Those that might destroy you with a little movement of their hand. "Do you dislike it?" You inquire with a nod towards the drink. "I can always order something else for you."
  5. Sagitta frowned. An illusion. The god claimed to be an illusion. Maybe. Maybe not. She had no idea what to think of all of this anyway. The he proved to be an illusion - it only added to her confusion and she frowned, wondered if things would ever be the same again soon. Price talked back to the god and while she saw the merrit behind his words, she wasn't sure what to make of them. It was a god. Illusion or not. And it was Sensation. She felt a stale taste in her mouth when she considered asking about the stars, but she knew the answer already. It had been a lie. Just like everything it had been a lie. He would have reacted in a different way to her appearance if it weren't. He would have said something else, something more. Sensation. Sagitta closed her eyes and tried to force herself to face the truth to accept it, but instead she only felt like tumbling down a long, dark road. "You have no intention to do anything productive here." She stated finally, hoped to clear things up and get Sensation to leave. "And honestly, I doubt this conversation will lead us anywhere at all." She had told him, that she would prefer it if he left already, as he had chosen to ignore it. Sagitta carefully stepped to Price side. Sensation had no intention to leave. In contrast. Suddenly she felt as if all of this was just a stage for him. An opportunity to show off and present his powers. And if he crushed a human or two - well they had already seen that he didn't care at all.
  6. "Coffee is ready." Shana called out to Leona and opened the door, stepped outside to Cassie's car when she saw, that Rob was done dressing. "It would be interesting to teach. Although I have a hard time to image pupils, another generation coming after us. It's a strange feeling to imagine, that we will hand all of this over one day. For now I would like to keep it." Pupils. She thought of Ben, wondered if he considered to have children one day, if maybe Rob would teach her children how to fight. Shaking her head she brushed it all aside. They would deal with that when it was time and for now she had to get to school. Having children, one day for sure, but definitely not the next few years. "Did you destroy the marble?" She changed the topic instead, to something she could deal with now.
  7. "Do you have an idea where to go?" @Ookla the Foxed
  8. Sagitta listened to his words quietly and then she sighed. "You really don't care." She looked at him for a moment, tried to wrap her thought around the fact that she had lived a lie. And then nodded to herself. A lie, so be it. She knew how to rely on her own skills. "My people get slaughtered. They burn down our houses and kill our children and you ask me to stop defending them." Bitterness crept into her voice. "You don't need to care, you don't need to understand. I see, that you don't and in the end you are right. Why should I expect our gods to help. It's obviously too much a bother to care for your people." She lifted her hand from her weapon and displayed her open hands. "I don't kill without a need." A strange calm settled on her and she shoved all the pain aside. Fight her own fight. Rely on herself. She could stand up for her country and she didn't need a god to think she did good. This was about herself, not about him. "I know what I did, and I know what I've done. You can drag it out in the open, I'm not ashamed of them. I am proud to fight for my country, and I will protect those in need." She looked into his eyes. "If you think this is wrong, then you should leave. I don't care if you're here or not."
  9. @Voidus Could you please take a look at Xino's character submission? There are two bios in the post, the first one is the character. According to Xino his powers are more like Voidmaking than anything else. Thank you
  10. Well, as the Alleyverse is based on Brandon's settings (apart from Voidmaking and WH 40k, with that little touch of WoT), we can only have characters, whose powers fit the setting. If you want to play a character that is able to use Voidmaking, I can tag Voidus, so that he can take a look at it, if you want me to?
  11. "I am good at science." She said and when she saw him pick up his backpack she called after Cassie. "We're coming!" Before she continued to speak to Rob while walking into the hallway and putting on some shoes. "I'm good at science as long as I don't have to calculate anything. But the moment it leads to these complicated mathematical equations I am lost again. I simply have no grip on it, and I mess the whole part with the negative numbers up." "I am good when I know what it's about, like abrasion. I know the concept, I know how to apply my surge, but these fictional problems." She shrugged. "It's simply not mine." "I like biology though. It's straighforward and I can use what I am learning there. Or history. I always wonder if one day, pupils will be taught about us and how we saved them all."
  12. "We discovered some Atium." Althea specified in Nekorb's direction and had to suppress a wince at Max reply. I don't know if this can still work. The DA is already here, but if you think that you should send some operatives, so that the Canton is represented, then do so. She stopped talking, listened to Wes and Adren before she continued. I can't speak for the Canton, Max. I will try to prevent a war, but I can't represent you as well. Quickly she sent him an image of their map and then highlighted where they were. Slowly she bent forward and picked up her helmet, the atium she had pocketed feeling strangely heavy in her pocket. She wasn't even sure if she could feel it at all and yet, all the wealth in front of her cast a dreading shadow, like a reminder of impeding doom. "Here." She handed Adren the helmet, without removing anything from its contents first. Then she looked around, met everybodies gaze. "We should talk about what to do with this place. As much as I would prefer to leave it alone, and never speak of it again," her eyes rested on Wes when she said so, "I doubt that this will work. I believe that we can find a way to deal with this, though." The Underling had moved closer as well and she considered to elsecall him away, out of the way of those standing around him. He would be safer somewhere else, but he had been here when they discovered it. He had a say in this, just like everybody else. "Does anybody here has a proposition how to continue?" She played the ball to the others first, curious to see what they would come up with. It could tell her a little about their goals and if they were interested in a peaceful solution as well.

This looks really beautiful! I love how you depict her here!
  14. Wow, these look great. Did you do the complete design by yourself, or puzzle them together out of existing ones?
  15. Sagitta jerked back when Tion appeared behind her, her hand changing it's grip on her weapon when she drew it. "I won't pray to you." She hissed at him. "I won't serve any of you anymore. Not now, never. You are gods!" She heard her voice shake from anger, for disappointment and she only shook her head at Gati. "I don't care if you're curious. You should leave - both of you. Go back and stop interfering with our lives. Take your problems with you!" She took a deep breath and then continued, wanted to get rid of all of it. "I probably said this already, but there are people dying in your names. They die for you and for your legacy. Children learn how to pray to you and you pay it back, by destroying what the three of us had. I know that we found some kind of truce and you just ripped it apart. Because it doesn't fit you. Because as long as there is war, people have more reason to pray -" She stared at Tion again. " And like you said, it's great when you have a person to rule. But what do you give back? Only pain and fear. You are real, you could have stopped all this slaughter. You could have helped the innocents that die daily, but instead you decide to spend time with testing, because it might be interesting. You stroll around at night, because hey, why not. It's not like the whole continent is covered by war and blood, let's take a walk." She realized she was breathing heavily, angrily lifted a hand an wiped a tear of her cheek, and yet she didn't look down. For once she wasn't afraid of her tears, wore them like an armor. Let them see, let them see and even if it changed nothing - at least they had seen.
  16. I continue in this direction.
  17. To modify the slight things is definitely possible. Regarding the other characters. This is something we usually try to avoid. Most people don't like it, if their character is influenced and they can't do anything about it. In general these abilities most likely just have a rule like "only choose a PC as target, if that person has agreed before you write your post". If that works for you, then yes, it is possible.
  18. Althea turned to Corette, her bloodied arm, the way she held the bead up into the air. A drier way yes, but they had found it on their own. Corette had stayed quiet, had tried to keep the secret for as long as possible to herself. She suppressed the urge to hide her face behind her hands, when she felt the girl Wes eyes on her, knew she was calculating, everything of her earlier teary eyed demeanor gone completely. So it had been a mask. Like the ones she wore herself. Whisper seized up those around, her eyes darting from person to person, greed. Greed, power and money. The worst and most tempting combination. Her eyes returned to her helmet and she tilted her head backwards, looked up at Adren. Wondered if he really expected her to hand it over. They were all calculating. All of them. Except Wes. He worried about the economy of the city. She liked this way of thinking, to consider the whole picture instead of your small, little world and she straightened, stepped to his side when Corette approached. Her face changed a little, determination set in her features when she made sure, to underline the fact, that Wes was with her. "They are all around the cave." She confirmed, although everybody with eyes could see it. Still she found that many thought it reassuring if you replied to their statements of the obvious, and she was set on solving this as peacefully as possible. "Where is Karin? I would like to talk to her."
  19. Could you explain a little what he is able to do with that?
  20. Sagitta followed Price over. A bodyguard of some sorts. Whatever. Soon enough. She didn't want to have a sword soon, she wanted to have it now. Although if she really was his bodyguard, maybe she could use that non existent title to request what she needed. There were enough around, and he had allowed her to carry a weapon already. Well, it was more that he hadn't forbidden it. Still it resulted in the same thing. She was armed. The other god, Tion was speaking of strange things, and she creased her forehead when she tried to follow, tried to understand what he was saying, until she rememdered Price earlier words. The gods were using their powers. "Why are you here?" She asked them. "You could leave anytime, given the way we came here, and you are supposed to be powerful enough to level the city." She narrowed her eyes, rested her hand on her weapon, although with no real threat behind the gesture. It was a nice resting place and she liked to carry weapons. "But as you don't care about us, prefer to let us slaughter each other, there is another reason. What did Price say? Your powers fluctuate? Maybe you can't escape again, or maybe, mabe you need us to do something for you?" Her words were crazy, she was talking to gods, but they felt good. They hurt, but at the same time they felt incredible good. As if she ripping an itching scab off a healing would. It hurt, but you couldn't stop either. Somehow she still wished that Price was wrong, that they weren't the gods and that the gods cared. And if she provoked them, maybe they would react in a way that told her, that Price was mistaken.
  21. ======================== You notice him taking out a cigarette and can't help the thought, that he could have made a lot more out of that gesture. Moving is an art. But then, you know that not everybody cares that much about that art than you do. "I am here to work." You reply honestly and a smile touches your lips. You won't elaborate what exactly you are working on, your dream of the perfect chimera, a being you created, it's movements beautiful and deadly at the same time. But this is nothing for a light evening conversation, especially not with someone you just met. Some people simply can't understand the beauty of a chimera and you don't want to have to use Sloane as part of the next experiment. His skin tone is a little to light. "I am a doctor." You clarify instead. "And as such, I can find work everywhere." Taking another sip of your wine you rest your eyes on Sloane. "Although I have to admit, I had expected more of the place they want to turn into a city. Something large, something spectacular. Something more than this arrangement of little, shabby huts." You lift one of your shoulders a little, to indicate that while you expected something different, it's nothing you particularly care about. You can find enough objects to work here, so the place is as good as any. "But then, I am sure we will be surprised once they start working on it."
  22. Gratefully Wita nodded. "Glowing is good." She told him and observed him, how he calmly continued to carve the symbols. It worked so well, every single one was neat and precise and she wondered if she would be as good as he was one day. She leaned a little closer, but made sure she wasn't obscuring the way he worked. She tried to follow the path the scalpel took, to make sure that she could remember how to carve each symbol correctly, although she suspected that she would forget it - Wita grimaced, her finger tapping on her bracelet. It would be easy. Just a little tapping and she could learn this in stride. She could remember the way he held the scalpel and - she would end up screaming in a corner. She had time. He had agreed that he was fine with her pace. "Can everybody learn how to use the stamps?" She asked to distract her thoughts from the temptating wealth resting in her bracelet.
  23. "Ben helped with math." She tried to hide the desperation entering her voice. But it only meant that I could do it here. I was sitting in that test and I just forgot everything. Two of five I had no idea what to do at all and the other three, I might have solved one the correct way and the other two, at least I wrote something down." "When I fight it's easy, I know what to do. But maths, I just don't. It's all numbers and - I mean maths made sense until 'x' got lost taking a walk and the other letters started to look for it." Bending down she picked up her backpack, they had to leave soon. "Can't be helped though. My poor 'x' will be lost for a long time without knowing what they are."
  24. "But, I..." Ophelia tried to protest. He had said it would be her choice and she had decided against. That he ignored his own words - she considered to speak up, to tell the boys that she didn't want to, that she wasn't okay with that, but instead she ducked her head and took her cards. She had played before, but only as a child. Looking her seven cards over she sorted them according to their color and then put the cards with the special effects up front. She had mostly usual numbers, but a red one that would let the person after her draw two cards. Suppressing a sigh she quietly hoped that Aoryen and Ana had better cards than she did.
